I really was checking the whole internet to find the solution for this but I couldn't find it (I'm a begginer so that might be the problem).
Problem is this.
I have a Samsung I9000 with rooted Gingerbread (BOJV9). I have rooted it with the CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVZ-v4.3 KERNEL.
So now my phone has a Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVZ-CL762604 [email protected] #2.
And the next thing that I wanted was to install the Slim Bean 4.2.2. So I went to the CWM recovery and I have done the wipe of cache, dalvik cache and data/factory reset. everything went ok and fast. then I went to install the Slim Bean and started the install but just when it started, showed on the screen that it is instaling updates, phone just reseted, and Semaphore logo showed up, and was standing there for 10minutes. So I googled and saw that that was some kind of error. So I went CWM recovey and it had a new look because the version changed (from v3 to v6 I think) but I couldnt find data on my external SD card, as if it was deleted, but it was not, the data was there. Then I found this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493 and was able to start the phone by flashing it with the original I9000 rom, and then installed the CWM again and then i returned my backup that I made of my phone. Then I started again to install Slim Bean again but this time I got an error at the wipe dalvik cache saying E:unknown volume for path. Now I dont know what could be the problem but please can you help me. Should I first install some other custom rom or should I put the rom files on to the I9000 memory or what. I am really confused
Also the same thing happend when I tried to install CM10. it starts the installation but it restarts after few seconds.
Files that I have used
Slim-I9000-4.2.2.build.3-OFFICIAL.rar
cm-10.0.0-galaxysmtd
Anyone? Help?
Do what you did again till the recovery changes to v6 as you said & then flash the slim bean or any other rom again... it will work.
Good luck

Hi I have WEUI v1.0 installed on Galaxy I9000 with the baseband i9000XXJVT
I am planning to install the [ROM][4.1.1] [1.0.1] RemICS-JB (Team RemICS)
Is there any special way or just the regular way of putting in the SD card and then going into CWM and flashing it.
Please advise on this thanks
I did this just last night, from an I9000XXJVU baseband.
Installing was a bit of an issue for me, from recovery i had to wipe user data, cache and dalvik then flash the rom, as the instructions say, then it wouldnt boot. Went back into recovery and wiped the user data, cache and dalvik again and then the phone booted and ran the RemICS-JB 4.1.1 [1.0.1]. Once it was running it all worked fine EXCEPT i had no cellular network connection at all, after leaving the phone on for over an hour.
I didnt get a chance to verify if the wifi worked as i didnt have any access points available.
Good luck amd hope all goes well for you
From GB its important, to flash Rom after all wipes and reboot recovery ... then you get the right cmw .. and then flash again
the JB-Rom ...
It´s the same way like form GB to ICS ... flash and reboot recovery ... without reboot recovery you can`t boot
hope it works ..
Alright so here's what i have done
I first flashed to [ROM]MIUI.4.I9000 it actually turned off the recovery. Then installed the recovery app from playstore.
Then flashed the CM 10 and before flashing it automatically installed recovery V5 on phone.
Then I flashed the REMICS and this installed recovery V6 on phone.
I have to say this is the best ROM i have ever seen the speed is awesome and very nice features on the JB.
There's one thing I have noticed some of the graphics animations are not working as I have seen on the other JB phones.
However still this ROM is brilliant and I am planning to get a tab running with JB.
Thanks for your inputs on this.
Greetings. So I never had any issues when flashing new ROMs into my Galaxy S GT-I9000...until now.
Three days ago I went on and started reading topics explaining how to install Android 4.1.2 (Ive picked X-Bean 3.0). One of these topics mentioned I had to install Android 4.0.3 and after that I had to install Semaphore Kernel 1.3.0...and so I did. I've also did all the proper factory resets and cache wipes.
Everything was running smoothly, until I proceeded to install Android 4.1.2. When I went on and was trying to install it, an error message appeared saying the partition layout was different, so I chose the file again and when the phone booted up it kept rebooting endlessly. After that I used Darkys ROM to fix the issue and followed all the way until I ended with Android 4.0.3 again.
The curious thing is that I had flashed my father I9000 before and everything worked out and he has the 4.1.2 version working.
So after extensive search about how to fix the problem and trying the explained solutions, nothing seemed to work. Hence I decided to post here and ask if there's anything I missed or did wrong. If yes, I would be relly thankful if anyone could help me find a solution for it.
Resuming, these were the steps Ive followed until I ended up with Android 4.0.3:
1 - Enter CWM and make a Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache
2 - Install .zip from sdcard>ICS_4.0.3_MR1-RC4.2_I9000
3 - Install .zip from sdcard>Semaphore_ICS_1.3.0s
Thank you
EDIT:
I just installed a new Semaphore version (2.8.0), and now when I try to install X-Bean 3-0, the following message is shown:
"E: error in/sdcard/external_sd/Android 4.1.2.zip

Redownload the Rom zip and try again
Tell me back if it helped or not

So I tried that, and at first no error message displayed, but at like 2% of the progress bar the phone rebooted and is now stuck on the Semaphore logo, even before I installed it.
Hello, can some one help me with this issue please, this has never happened to me before, I really don't know what is wrong or how to fix it. I want to try out TheWhisp's CM10 rom on my S6500D, I follow instructions that few ppl posted in the original thread of the rom.
Download rom
Go to squadzone CWM
Wipe data
Install zip
Reboot
I follow that tutorial, I download latest 13.2 update/build or w/e, I have squadzone's 5.0.2.8 CWM, I'm on a stock rom and I'm rooted aswell, so I reboot in CWM, wipe data/factory reset, then Instal zip from sd card, when it tries to instal I get that status 7 error, it say's something about build.prop, I looked around and saw that you can delete something at the beggining when you open updater file and I did that but then It starts to instal but finishes really quickly, less then a minute. Shouldn't it take longer? When it instals I reboot my phone it gets stuck at the screen after Samsung one, on the one where it says Samsung GT-S6500D and then goes into bootloop, can someone help me with this please. Maybe i deleted wrong strings or w/e it's called in updater? I also tried wipe cache + dalvik cache + battery stats
are you sure you used the rom for mini 2 i think the one you flashed was for mini

Yea I'm sure I was flashing the right one. Anyways I fixed it today, the problem was in my kernel, I flashed squadzone's kernel and it worked perfectly, now I have cm10 on my lil' SGM2 . Well hope this helps if anyone else is having problem like this and sorry for bothering.
Hey guys. I've been using CyanogenMod on my Galaxy S for quite a long time. Few days ago my battery died and phone wouldn't pass the CyanogenMOD logo. I've decided to go back to stock rom and then upgrade to one of the new roms.
So I flashed the stock rom using Odin 3.07, rooted, went to recovery mode and tried to flash: Mackay ROM, Beast ROM ( black and white as well as beastxl), Avatar ROM, Slim Bean, Tsunami, CyanogenMOD but none of the above worked.
It starts the installation and after few seconds phone restarts itself and gets stuck on new boot logo.
The only thing that gets installed is the CWM which won't let me do the factory reset, wipe data, wipe dalvik cache etc. Keeps saying can't mount /data, /cache, /system.
The only time I can do factory reset is when I install stock rom.
I only succeeded installing Franzy ROM once but after reboot gets stuck on boot logo.
Sometimes even the stock ROM is giving me issues like process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly (does it for dialer, calculator, market, launcher)
Another weird thing is that even when I go back to stock rom and open up for instance a picture with bright background or web browser I can see transparent battery and CyanogemMod in the middle of the screen even tho phone's not charging and running on stock rom not CyanogenMod.
I think I've tried everything from fixing permissions, flash and re-partition using Odin and 512 pit file.
Even rang my Mom like advised in xda's video, didn't help either
Is there anything else I can try to get my phone in "shape"?
Any suggestions?

Thanks for your reply. Installing CM 9 worked but trying to install CM 10 throws up this error:
assert failed: run_program("tmp/updater.sh") == 0
E: Error in sdcard/cm-10.1.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Flash this one :

then install this one :

Thanks for your help. CM 9.1.0 installs fine, same error for 10.1.2 :/

did you tried to install other costum roms , like slimbean ?
There MIGHT be a problem with your internal SD card. Slight chance :/

Yes I did and only Franzys installed successfully but then stopped working after phone reboot.

I think that might be the case. I get encryption unsuccessful with my sdcard in and CWM doesn't see any files with sdcard out.
I found an article here on forum that explains how to use your external sdcard as the internal one. Will give it a try and see if it works.
For now I don't mind using CM 9.1.
Thanks for your help guys and let me know if you have any other suggestions.
Hey can anyone help me...
First I was able to flash any ROM on my Device and was on Mackay ROM (4.1.7 KK) but downgraded to JVU stock due to some problems.
But after that I was unable to flash any ROM on my device. The ROM gets flashed but after wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and dalvik cache, when I reboot it gets stuck at the kernel logo(Doesn't even go up to the ROM boot animation) and then suddenly the Galaxy S Gt-i9000 screen back again and again kernel screen, it goes on infinitely and is happening with each and every ROM (whether it is ICS, JB or KK).
Here is the whole thing in detail:
I was on JVU stock, non-rooted.
I rooted my phone, no problems.
I went to CWM recovery, made a NANDROID backup, no problems till now.
I selected "Install Zip from sdcard", "Chose zip from sdcard", and then selected ElectROM V2.0(4.0.4).
It said the "The ROM uses a different partition layout. Your /data will be wiped. select it again to confirm flashing". I selected the file again.
The phone booted into the new recovery and I flashed the ROM and the GAPPS properly with all wipes and even formatting /system
After that I selected "Reboot System Now". The phone started. A black screen with "Galaxy S GT-i9000/Samsung"(thats obvious) and then "Cyanogenmod" but the screen stuck here and again came that Galaxy S GT-i9000 screen...
Then I thought that i made some mistake so I followed the above procedure again and flashed Project Seaspray (4.1.2). But the same problem occured..
I tried most of the 102 ROMS I have including Gingerbreads, ICS, JellyBean, Kitkat, Paranoid, SlimBean, Omni, Supernexus eaxh that I had....BUT NO SUCCESS...SAME ERROR EACH TIME....
Please help me get out of this problem....

For ICS ROM, you need to flash same ROM twice for it to boot, since you may have done too many flashes, it best to get back to JVU Stock ROM, with repartition ( use this [Tutorial] How to Unbrick, Flash, Downgrade, Root, Update i9000 from Froyo to Kit Kat ) and just use the CM ROM step by step following the guide all the way to Jelly Bean, after that you can chose any other KK ROM (look here
[FAQ][Discussion][Reviews] Kit Kat 4.4 / CM 11 for Galaxy S & S Plus [i9000][i9001]. just update gradually try not to use your 102 ROM's , its GB to ICS to Jbean to Kit Kit, that's the way the Android progressed.
