Recently, I've been having massive battery drain on reboots. Is this a calibration issue? I'm currently on the 4/15 build of CM10, but was previously on Slimbean 4.1 2/25 build. It was happeneing on that build as well. It just dropped from 55% to 12% after the reboot...Also, my battery is slightly bloated, it can't really be seen visually, but you can feel it. Are these two correlated? Should I get a new battery?

Your battery is fried, time for a new one, whenever you have swelling, its the number one sign that your battery is dead. Soon you won't be able to use your phone without it being connected to a charger.

I too have had this issue with the SlimBean, I believe it to be from the "Fast USB Charge" function.
Since it has to be replaced anyways, any suggestions for Extended Batteries?

I got this one and its pretty nice:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009PGTUFQ
It's 2050mah so not too much more than stock but still good. I bought it because it doesn't require a special battery cover. Lasts me all day with decent (sometimes excessive) use. And it looks cool in red haha.

Already bought another stock battery, but if I had known about this, maybe would have bought this instead. Oh well, the new battery is working much better than my old already.

Thanks for the info, I've seen that one, but I think that I'm going to go with this one: EZO Power since I'm never very far from a charger. (battery troubles will cause you to carry one or keep them everywhere. LOL)
i have 3 at home, one in the car and 2 at work
Ive just started running AOIP, and I have experienced the massive drain on reboot. so the consensus is its a battery issue?
When ever you have battery issues like that it is you battery. Soon you will notice random reboot accompanied by massive battery drain. Then you will have to have your phone plugged in just to use it, you will also start to notice swelling. I recommend you get another before it gets this bad. Trust me having to have your phone plugged in 24/7 is not fun

I am familiar with the battery swell, my previous samsung flip phone (RIP) had some massive battery swell. I was scared it was going to explode in my face.:good:

Did you get this battery from china?
It probably has like 800mah.
Is there any battery today that does not originate in China ?
It is marked "SAMSUNG G7 1500mah".
I already tried to calibrate the battery about a week ago using a market application that claims to perform a reset of the battery stats.
after the reset I drained the battery for 3 days and recharged while the phone was off every night (during those 3 days).
then for the first few days the battery actually held up nicely reaching 50-60% after 12 hours.
after a week or so it started to drain more rapidly reaching 15-20% in the evening.
It also fails to hold 100% when the charger is unplugged, going straight to 97%.
should I try another battery or is there a another way to calibrate the battery ?

Its still quite possibly a fake samsung battery. Did it come from a reputable seller at least? If yes return it.
Heres an example of battery life with a genuine samsung 1500mah battery

What APP did you use for that screen capture? I know this has nothing to do with this post but looking for one on the market and there are so many to choose from.

Is there a way to identify a genuine non-fake G7 battery ?
That's how mine looks. My battery does seem to drain fast when I am actually using it. But, also when I'm not using it, it seems to keep at a steady battery level for a while. I guess it's a trade off. I also use Juice Defender which definitely helps.
I probably used juice defender for about 4 months. Then I tried running without it and found I got equal or better battery life.
I found it on google:

Looks good but cost USD 27. But not sure how this one working. I am now using the portable charger for my note II LTE (using the charger previously on my S3). I wanted to know who has the experience of using this battery from this website, how is this battery and the battery cover feel??? Does it look stupid???
Why not just carry a spare battery. This makes the phone huge.
Always open the housing cover to change battery is too trouble. Also, no battery charger that can charge the battery alone, need to get the empty battery into my phone and charge it is annoying!!!

Yeah boi...I'm looking to get me an extended battery as well. Have always used them and let me tell you, it is sweet having 2-3 days of use without having to worry about a charger. This phone is big already so having an extended battery isn't going to change that issue too much. Besides, it'll help with not snapping phone in half like someone did for their S3...OUCH!!!

I didn't counted it. But my Note II is always on during office hour. Many calling in. Also will used to check email and play game or video when I am having meeting outside (Play it during the traveling of course, :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed, I think it is about at least 5.5 hours for my office hour and only consume 30-35% power which is really good.
Evening time, my phone is mainly using for text msg and gaming (but gaming at evening is not usual) and a little calls. Until bed time, the battery still got 40-45%. That make me feel safe for able to not stay attached with the wall plug. :cyclops::cyclops:
This looks like an interesting approach on external batteries for Galaxy NOTE 2.
I am a bit disappointed since I am sure is blocking NFC and may beloved wireless charging. I may give it a try for the times when traveling...
Here is the LINK . (later edit) I have found a BLACK version, different in design . Link is HERE

I had a case that was somewhat similar for my iPhone 3, it was the Mophie Juice Pack Air. I liked it and it definitely came in handy on more than one occasion. I'm kinda interested in this case, thanks for the heads up.

I think I am a bit damaged. First thing I think of when seeing this case "hey, that's a way to save the microUSB plug from wear and tear". My three latest phones of the last 6 years all did develop contact issues after a year or two, no matter how careful I was (too much charging, flashing and modding I guess)
That said, this don't look too bad. Slightly skeptical about quality, both in terms of fit/materials and the battery itself. Not necessarily a bad concept though.
Mac
I like the idea. Too bad there probably are next to no protective cases for it. Double the battery is always a good thing though.
well

Unfortunately the case gives no protection. Even worse. It makes the device heavier, which means that when it falls on its face, you won't have to check if the glass is shattered. (Yes, that's what happened with my HTC One X!!)

You are exactly right. These battery packs only give a tiny portion of the juices the device needs. Furthermore, the device thinks it's on mains power, so the power savings etc. are not running.
This means the device uses more juice while it does not get it all, so the battery of the unit will not fill up, but run down almost as fast as when no battery pack is connected.
Guys, just get a portable charger. I'm gonna get one for myself.
I would like to put one of this external battery case in to the universal gameklip, which one do u recomend me?
Thanks!!

It blocks s-pen, and makes Note 2 even longer due to that battery extension. I haven't used it, just commenting about the picture. Plus, you will get only 3200 mAh of actual charge on it because conversion through usb connection will make it drop by about 30% due to inefficiency.
Hey everyone,
I wanted to ask how everyone's battery life is. I'm currently using PAC 4.3 by @skeevydude (stock battery) and the rom has solid performance but I only get like 12 hrs on battery. This is with LTE off, WiFi off, Bluetooth off etc.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advanced!
Carbon, hands down best battery. Battery drain while sleeping is extremely minimal, and slightly below average drain during actual use. Im on stock battery and have a day+ of use. I do use pure performance mod and snapdragon battery guru. Only an hour and a half of screen time though

I actually had battery failure about 2 weeks ago, I took my phone to pro-wireless, got my screen fixed while I was there, and ended up paying $138.76 and they charged me 40.00 for the battery, so I asked if they would swap it out for the MAXX battery and they said it didn't fit, didn't really think much of it. Should I go back? Thanks.

Technically it doesn't fit. Everyone here who has done it had to do a bit of plastic trimming to get it in properly.
And $138.76???? Did that include the battery? It only costs 25 for the touchscreen, 26 for the lcd screen, and 45ish for a Moto Maxx battery and 25ish for the standard eb20 battery..
//If people are willing pay that much maybe I should get into cell phone repair.....

Almost 180 dollars! Sweet hell man they saw you coming. You can pick this phone up online for that in like new condition. Hell the maxx battery is only 40 and a new screen is around 50. And as far as it fitting I didn't do any plastic cutting. Others have. I haven't had an issue and it's been in since last October now.
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
Pretty sure (but not 100% confident) that poster meant the total cost of everything was ~$140 which was $40 for the battery + the difference for the screen/labor. If it was $180-ish then yeah, that's a bit high but then again cell phone shops nowadays are nothing but rip-offs taking advantage of the fact that your average Joe cell phone owner would never dream of doing a repair like that themselves, especially on a "sealed" device like iPhones and these Atrix HD devices and many others.
This is in someway asking for a best ROM, Never the less this thread has become OT.

Hello guys and gals,
I have received the extended battery that i have ordered on last friday and has been using it for the past 3 days.
The model i have ordered is 7600mah extended battery with NFC and back battery cover.
I can't confirm the battery capacity is 7600mah or not but it sure have increased my standby time by double.
The back battery cover has a very tight and good fitting as good as the original and it looks good too.
The battery does add weight and bulk to note 2 but it is worth the standby time.
I am not here to promote this item but just to share out my findings.
The link for the battery is :

That battery might be a dud. I get way over 24hrs of use and over 6hrs of screen time on my standard original battery. And that's on the 4.3 rom. I used to get closer to 9-10 hrs screen time on the original 4.1.1 rom when I first got the phone.

depends on your usage bro, for my stqndard battery, usually i need to charge after 7 to 8 hours after i unplug from my charger after a full charge while this extended battery i use now doubles the time.
different people have different kinds of apps on their phone so the result may varies and very subjective.
i also can get over 24 hours of stanby time if i only have very basic apps installed on my note 2.
Cheers.
Same for me, 10h on 4.1.2 and only 6 on 4.3.
I will try slimbean this week to see if its better.

I think I know why the reactions were a bit too emotional - a screenshot of the screen up time would help to prove your point. And you don't have to estimate, just when viewing the battery graph page, click on the Screen entry, the precise time is there.
