[TIPS] Change fonts on XZ - Xperia Z Themes and Apps

Hello All,
After many tries and issues :crying: now I can make a little thread about the way to change all fonts on XZ.
I use Rom toolbox to do it.
It can be done by simple explorer with root right (ex : ES explorer => /System/Fonts), Rename the fonts you have by the name of Systems fonts you want to change.
Of course, do a back up of your system fonts first and make a system back up (with CMW or TWRP) to go back.
1) you need a font pack with one Regular, one Bold at least. An italic and bold italic can be add but i don't think it's really necessary.
It's really important to respect that because if you put a regular font instead of Bold system font, you will have bootloop.
2)Start to change the fonts :
the font which can be changed by a regular font are :
Clockopia
droidsans-bold
droidsans
roboto-light
roboto-regular
robotocondensed-regular
somaregular
somcsans-regular
the font which can be changed by a bold font are :
roboto-bold
robotocondensed-bold
somabold
the font which can be changed by an italic font are :
roboto-italic
roboto-lightitalic
robotocondensed-italic
the font which can be changed by an bold italic fonts are :
roboto-bolditalic
robotocondensed-italic
3) restart the XZ and that's all folk
From my side I used "Sony_Sketch_EF" like a regular font and "Sony_Sketch_bold_205" as a bold font (attached it this thread and see screen shot => all the XZ has Sony font)
I also attached "BIMINI" font which is a safe font (it is in relation with your taste)

Not working for me...followed your steps and some text are missing like in settings...also forgot to backup...stupid
Also sony walkman is text big al others are good...weird
have to wait untill im home and reflash rom

And i dont really understand the tutorial in the first post. do i just copy and paste the font that i want into the fonts folder? i did that and it didnt work.

ICS Android 4.0 Roboto Font

Here's the new Roboto Font from Ice cream Sandwich.
Simply install thru Font Changer App from the market.
Unzip the file into the .fontchanger folder on the SD card that gets created after installing the Font Changer.
I've modified the zip so that it'll install both the regular and bold just by just installing the Roboto.ttf thru the Font Changer app. You can also install Italics if you prefer.

Flashing this varies depending on the rom you're running.
So the easy way is to download the FONT CHANGER app from the market. Then unzip this attachment to the .fontchanger folder it will create and then just simply install it by using the app

Worked fine, but font are too small compared to stock ones (I use "small font size" setting in display option and "normal" is too big) how can I make them a little bigger ?
I renamed them and just clicked install in ROM Toolbox font manager, without setting permission, reboot and it's ok..

Is it a stupid question that there's no answer about it ? In Stock launcher there's no way to fine tune font size other than in display option with "normal" "small" "big" etc.

i just tried it and i noticed that it loads 5/5 fonts i selected to install my roboto-regular.ttf only luckily it worked fine but i think the bold fonts are fonts of their own and they don't change i changed it and my phone got stuck on reboot.
After fixing my bricked phone I suggest you guys don't use the font changer in rom toolbox if you want fonts search for fonts that are comfirmed to work if you just guess and try any that you find there is no doubt it will brick the phone becareful.

Sure, but Samsung likely has more fonts in system/fonts/ than do AOSP-based roms, so you might see only some fonts change. You can find out by checking the number and names of fonts found in your own system/fonts/ folder and comparing them with those in the .zip .
? ?
If you want to use this for Samsung ROMs, download ifont app then extract the font into ifont/custom folder and apply the font from the custom tab in the app. Works for me, don't need to flash or reboot(if you're rooted)

Changing Fonts

This is so frustrating..
i could not find a way to change system font in setting, it looks like Z1 does not have option at all.
Does anyone know how to change fonts? i wish i could just install font.apk files like galaxy series!!
You can't.
I have many flashable fonts but you have to be rooted and have recovery for that or manually change one file at the other.
