[Q] Can I install SGS3 Touchwiz Email App on HTC One? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I came from Galaxy S3 and I found that the S3 email app was the only email app that can show all images by default AND pinch to zoom and resizes emails to fill the screen well.
Is it possible to get the S3 Touchwiz email apk to use it on a rooted htc one?
Cheers all.

Nah, relies on Touchwiz framework which is basically the underlying system beneath Touchwiz UI.

Galaxy tab apps

I was in verizon store (att hadn't got there shipment in) to check out the tab and continuum, the continuum wasn't in and they took down the fascinate display models. But the tab was up. I noticed that the email app appeared to be updated from the port we already have and that it has a different browser and all share app. Is the tab software dump still around? And have things like the launcher all share and browser been tested on the cap? The launcher has a launcher 2 aosp look to it, and the drawer is a 4x5 view.

I think there is a thread in the development section about the email apk, I don't know how up to date it is though.
Yeah I use the email app from the leak, the one on the team appears to be a little different.
I would like to try all share and maybe the browser if I could find the system dump that was around somewhere.

The contacts and calendar are my favourite. I tried to install them on my captivate but it was a no go.

[REQ] SGS2 app ports for nexus s

Hi everyone, I have seen some of the apps from the sgs2 which I really like the look of, e.g mms. Apk and such
It would be great if some devs could port some of the apps from the sgs2 to our phones. I can get copies of the apps from the system if you need them.
Thanks happyland.adventures

Yeah they are stock from the sgs2 system. I don't think they will install on anything else. Thanks for trying them on your gns though.

ICS Smileys

I just put CM9 on my fiancée's Captivate and she wants the old Froyo/Gingerbread Smileys. Anyone have any idea how to go about making that happen?
You have emoji, what more could you want?

She wants the Froyo smileys to show up in the stock messaging app. Is there a way to get emoji to work with a that smiley set without an alternative messaging app?

[Q] where is the mail widget?

Does HTC dump it in Sense 5? I can't see the task and note widget either. What happened?
Besides, it seems difficult to arrange the panels. I can't move the panel anymore.

Mail, Notes and Tasks are in my Apps menu, not sure why you can't find it, what panels are you referring to?

Yes, I mean the widgets not the app. Can you see the widgets on your side?
For the panel move, I mean I can't switch the position of two panels. say, I want to move the 3rd panel to the 2nd position. I could do it in sense 4 but can't do it now. Kind of weird.
HTC ditched them. I'm using touchdown

Does touchdown supports activesync?
I really don't quite get why HTC would ditch them. This is really not a good change IMHO.

I agree. It's really stupid. Last time they ditched the Calendar widget so I ended up having to use the stock Android one. Now they've brought the Calendar widget back but it's useless.
They have now ditched the mail, tasks and notes widgets which aside from Calendar were my main widgets and they have got rid of the large (full screen) music widget.
There's no logic and no consistency. Sense is rapidly becoming a complete waste of time.

nexus 7 briefing alarm?

The Samsung SIII has a briefing alarm on the clock app. It allows a tts voice called "briefing" to announce news, weather and most importantly to me, calendar items at scheduled intervals. Is there anything like this for the nexus 7? Nothing on the play store offers the ability to use an alarm to announce calendar items. I even installed a custom touchwiz rom to allow me to use the samsung clock, but, it does not have the "briefing" tts or any of the samsung tts voices so, it only seems to announce the time using the pico tts, no news, weather or calendar items. If I use the Google tts, it crashes the clock app. I just want this feature on my nexus 7. Is it possible? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Agreed. This would be great addition

How did you get a touchwiz rom on your nexus 7? Or was it just themed to look like touchwiz?

There is a rom or two, including a galaxy tab port, as well as an addon pack that includes the TW launcher and a few Samsung apps.

I tried the CodenamSammy one but, it had no features of the Samsung clock that I described. Then I tried this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038920
and it is pretty close but, I guess the real question is, can I instal the Samsung TTS set into my Nexus 7 and if so, how?
iirc there was a tasker workflow that could make announcements - not sure if it can source it's info from apps like weather etc, but maybe? (I really need to try and use the app for once ha)
Well, if there is any way to do this, I am all for it. I'd gladly move back to the stock image if it would do it there. There has to be a way. I found a samsung TTS apk. Installed it but, no briefing option. In fact, it also crashed the clock app.
