Wow what a crazy 4 days its been. I got the iPhone 5 since it just came out on T-Mobile and wanted to try it out. Obvisouly its a beautiful piece of hardware but damn IOS sucks. So locked down and the battery isn't any better than the N4. Why pay 300+ more? Felt like I was downgrading to a dumb phone with less battery life. Thankfully T-Mobile took it back without the $50 restock charge and gave me a new free sim card
I missed my N4 and love it even more now.

The 5 sucks. One of the guys that works for me has one. He charges that thing all the time. Piece of junk.
My sister got the iPhone 5 recently and I was like "cool! Another smartphone to play with!!!" I got bored in 5 minutes. I've never used something that ****ty in my life and I'm not exaggerating, now I understand why people hate iPhone that much (conscious people). I mean, it's the best iPhone out there and it's LAME!!!! I AM OUTRAGED WITH THAT! IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the heads up, all the hype about the new iphone I was considering it something fierce. But battery life is a top priority for me (glad I stayed with droid)

Ya its definitely not great. It calculates your usage from anything that uses the battery, and not sepereately like android does. Can't wait for new nexus of Motorola phones. Moto supposed to be crazy bad ass with battery and design

I lot of BS in here, the iphone 5 definitely has better battery life and unless people are going to get into specifics to just say "iOS is SOOOOO ****ty" is dumb.

Really? Jailbroken is jailbroken, but iOS is still iOS. I suppose if you prefer the Apple experience, then cool. As to battery life, the latest Franco kernel is pretty damned impressive. Lasts easily all day with plenty of juice to spare.
I think iphone 5 has a little bit better battery but i have to plug in both of them when im going to sleep, so it doesnt make any difference. But with ios i feel like to be trapped. Therefore nexus 4 is best i think.

Nice! It happened the same exact way with me back in December. Had my nexus 4 for a month but since I'm a phone junky I wanted to try something else. So I posted in on Craigslist and someone offered me an unlocked iPhone 5 32 GB for trade so I said why not? Traded, used it for a week, loved the build quality and sound through headphones and speakers but after a week I got bored to death. Sold it, bought a 2nd nexus 4 on eBay and it made me really appreciate android even more. Felt awesome!

I'm running franco milestone and while the battery life is good enough for me (1.5days if I push it) but everybody I know with an iphone 5 can go 2 days using their phones like I do and a day playing words with friends nonstop (if I did that with my n4 I'd only get half a day.)

I just want to say that the N7 has phenomenal Wi-Fi performance. I'm speedtesting consistent 20/20 on my connection, which considering is over 2.4Ghz in a densely populated downtown Chicago building, is quite impressive.

Really? I get just over 2 days use out of my Galaxy SII and thought that was amazing since my iPhone 3Gs was needing a charge almost evert 10 hours. My Xoom goes 5 days with moderate use on a single charge. My Galaxy Tab 7.7 WiFi also gets about 4-5 days too.
'Course most of this is nothing compared to what my old Nokia 3310 & 1100 could do, but that's the trade off with smartphones.
Are your ando devices rooted? Maybe try another custom ROM.

I'm still on the fence. How's the device so far, for all of you that have it? Is the audio really horrible like I've read in some posts? What'd the back of the device made of?
I'm currently getting my basics before I transfer (to maybe UH/A&M/UT) for a degree in Petrol Eng. Is this something you guys/gals think would benefit me in anyway? Especially being in Calculus classes right now. I've never had a tablet or had any friends with a tablet, so I'm not sure how to determine if a tablet is right for me.

Definately worth it.. Only downside is after using one for a bit you'll think your GNex is too small!
Technology is never an investment. Two, three, six months later the latest hotness is two years old and worth a fraction of what you paid. Don't buy something as an investment and expecting to recover any expenses in the world of Technology.
As far as being worth the expense of being a useful gadget you will enjoy, yes it is very much worth it. If you spend any time browsing the web, youtube, games, or movies on your phone, using the Nexus 7 will make it a more enjoyable experience and not kill your phone in the process. Tablets are still limited to being media consumption devices, i.e. dont expect them to do everything a PC can, but they do have a viable need in the gap between a smart phone and a laptop or desktop.

The latest nexus is always a good choice because you get support from Google for a good while and they're easy to resell.
I've had mine for a few months now and when you compare the cost to hardware/software combo of the N4 to any other phone, the N4 wins hands down.
Sure if your budget was unlimited I'd probably go INA different direction (HTC One).
The good thing about the Nexus line is that they hold their value. If you chose to buy a used one now, you can probably sell it when the N5 comes out and not take a significant lose.
My only gripe with the N4 is the camera. My wife's S3 takes better pictures, otherwise its an awesome phone. What device will you be coming from?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I go through Android phones like you wouldn't believe, I've had over 10 in the past 3 years. The Nexus 4 is the best I've ever used and the phone I've stuck with longest. I got one at release and sold it a couple of months ago to try an Xperia Z, sold the XZ after a few weeks and went back to the N4, it's that good.
Ive also had way to many Android handset's over the past 2 years, and even an Iphone 5.
I also had an N4 on release day too and sold that for the iphone.
Sold the iphone to go back to the Nexus 4.:good:
Its by far the best and purest Android phone I have ever used.
I love it so much, I now have a Nexus S as my work phone and a Nexus 10 tablet.

Well, HTC devices are very high quality, after you get past the carrier blocks to root, unlock bootloader, s-off and flash a custom rom, (aosp preferably because its always newer than sense).
But I'd rather get the updates first at the cost of a camera not being as good and ease of rooting.

I actually used it a lot. I would use it when I lost my remotes and got too lazy to look for them. At the sports bars to mess with my friends and some other random things. I don't think it's as big of an issue as you perceive it to be. I think the majority of people who ordered got their phone in a reasonable time. But LG can only crank these things out so fast, once Google's warehouse runs out, some unlucky people are gonna wind up waiting for the next shipload to come in. That's life...
