[Q] which rom should I install on my SGS1 (Please help me)

Hi, I wanna install a new rom but I couldnt found what I exactly want.. please help me to decide
I want the rom to have:
-good battery life
-fast and has minor problems
-good features
features:
a lot unlock screen( minimum 5)
2G/3G
TW 4
applications and stuff from SGS 2
updated applications
3D Perfomance
based on android 2.3.3 or 2.3.4
single and wifi improved drivers& other drivers (if there is such thing like that..)
another cool useful stuff
EXT4
so I was thinking about Juwes/gingercriskelo/SH/CM7/miui/or maybe something else?
what is the best for me, for what im looking?

NOTE- cant try and install every rom.. I want to install a rom and that's it- be with him a long time

Why don't you want to try some ROMs?

You have to try a lot of roms. I use insanity CM 014.

Lunchbox115 all my application will be deleted over and over when I change rom..
I dont want to mess with this things.. lol dont wanna destroy my phone
actually, I cant "find by myself" all the features even if I try this rom..
imidalv- yeah I've heard about cm7 but as I said- dont know which one should I choose

testing them yourself is the only way to find out. I want similar things to you, and have so far been through Insanity, Juwe, ezBase, and am currently trying Ginger Real. Ginger Real and Juwe both have plenty of features, but insist on theming them which really annoys me!

I use F1 SGS V3.0 (NON-WIPE).
This ROM is awesome.....

@darix: you could use Titanium Backup to save and later to restore your apps.

This guy posts an almost identical thread begging people to tell him what ROM to install every few weeks. They just end up being spammy flame wars until the mods delete them.
As often as you all try to tell him he needs to investigate for himself, he will continue begging someone to tell him what is best and what to do.
It is sort of a fetish thing, I think.

Insanity cm 014/glitch

Personally I liked the criskelo roms for everything you want. You really do need to try the roms for yourself. I am now a miui convert, very fast and responsive but does have stuff missing compared to other roms.

I suggest u try miui(galnet's version 1) its awesome and when its comes to the rom, the features are far superior than the rest combined... also galnet i hear is a real pro in developing roms, so u can be assured of a reliable and quality builds.. ps: if u decide to try this read the manual properly!!

JVP based, i prefer GingerReal V6.1 with Zeam Launcher. Very stable.

still running stock kernel.
could u guys please suggest:-
1.) Which custom ROM should i prefer in terms of battery life, camera and speed!
2.) should i update to 4.0 provided by samsung?

i think you should try ParanoidAndroid (been using it from the day it came out, love it and only a couple of very little bugs).
Another one is Asylum ICS. I haven't tried it but people say its very very good. Give them a shot and see what works for you.

what about the battery life ?
i noticed that deep sleep doesn't work in my note.
is it jst with me or is it a firmware problem?

The current "stock" ics roms by Samsung are having kernels with the "brick bug" which are therefore unsafe.The best option is to use the 4.0 Roms which are based on CM9,franco kernels like Paranoid Android,MIUI,Asylum ICS and a few others.For more info read the warning posted by the mods in the development section.

Battery life is good in most of the rooms....as they are using the same base...and kernel is left to you to decide which you want...goku kernel is good right now...

so im gonna flash KingDroid in a while, any comments abt that?

I would suggest the new version of liquid smooth...2.3....and the Samsung apps can be found in themes section...or in the rom itself sometimes the dev puts it as a addon

best looking stock rom for optimus black?

hello all. i am gajen_b. recent got an optimus black. my friend did everything like routing and clock work installing and showed me how to instal a rom in recovery.
i want the best look but stock rom because i use the camera and video very much. there are too many rom in forum. cannot decide. also i dont know which rom is stock and which not.please suggest.
i dont want extra function like more ghz speed or anyhting like that. i just want a flawless rom but good look. i like cici rom there but saw it is not stock lg based.please suggest me a rom and also the link. this is my first post and i tried to find beautiful rom thread but only best rom was there which is not what i want. please answer me.

The best rom for Camera/video will be a stock based rom.
The best looking rom would be a CM7/CM9 based rom.
For speed etc, both can handle it.
CM7 based roms have really poor camera quality.
So I would suggest Zeus, for tweaks, like OC etc.
Or Marvel v9 for fewer tweaks than Zeus but a more appealing UI.

i tried instal the Marvel9 but it does not install normal. it goes into some aroma manager. i am very new and dont know that all to fear death of my phone. then i saw superpressed rom. installed it. really liking it than the stock rom. the man making it is very good. i pressed the thanks button there.

there is NOTHING to be scared about Aroma Installer! I too did not know anything about it! But it was so simple
Personally I don't really like Surpressed because it a bit too colorful... But that's up to you

Looks effects and future like : FOP CM9
Speed and themes : Zues ROM
Colourfullness : Suppressed ROM
Basic needs : STOCK ROM
As many modifications as you want : CM7

This +1, if i knew an easy way to theme it to a CM7ish look i would be probably using it, i really don't like the status bar icons
I'm using Boype's with holo launcher and i really like my phone look atm

I"m having a Galaxy GT-I9000, which was originally from Europe. The last update I got from samsung is 2.3.3 (GINGERBREAD.XWJVH). I dont think samsung will publish any updates for this model anymore.
I would like to go with the custom ROM, I know It's not so easy to as I say.
Is there any easy way to decide and install it ASAP. Plz guide me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make a clean install of ICS333 2.0.1 ROM. The most stable and memory friendly ROM so far (ever). It's very fast also.
The JB roms are on par - try SlimBean or CM10 (but flash Semaphore 2.6.0 kernel on CM10). Don't try JB 4.2 - tt's very new . Wait 1-2 months for good releases.

without creating a new thread, but along the lines of this subject already, can I ask, if there are any custom rom's that include the official samsung email application? I know that's specific, but its for some testing..A port from another samsung device maybe,,,tia

I am very happy with Slim Bean. It is "slim", and very battery efficient. I could use a full battery charge on 3.5 days, with mail, sms and few phone calls.
Just be careful with the last version, 3.0, that has a battery drain problem. I can only get 2 days from a load.

I used RemICS 1.3.1. very good, but lags at times.

I am looking to start modding my Z1. I had a Galaxy S2 and used Pac-Man Rom before and loved it.
The thing is I want an Xperia based Rom.
So does anyone know which one is the best Xperia based (JB 4.3) Rom and why?
Also can you confirm if I require to unlock bootloader (and what are the disadvantages of doing so)

the big thing is you have to try it.Everyone likes something other and different.I testet 7 roms for now and im not perfect yet.What do you want Stock?,maximal customizability?,voltage mods include?,deodexed?.It's a long table find out what you want and then ask for the rom what is voltage mod ... etc.

Thanks for the reply. I want something more Xperia deodexed like. Not looking for stock android as for that I would go back to Pac-Man (like my s2).
I really like Xperia UI but need a bit more that I feel like its missing: e.g. Ihacker or monxDIFIED but the differences between then seem very small. Major things are alike (boot menu, connectivity etc. ) so I would like to know if either of those is better or there is something alike that is better.

I'm running monx rom now with doomlords kernel and running pretty damn good. Just try them out, if u got the bootloader unlocked it only takes a few mins to try a new rom

hey guys,
I supportet monx a little with a little donation, and now i get the early Rom build.I have also to say i like the I Hackers which i have on my Phone now but the big issue is no recovery.And also i miss the reboot bars and stuff thats the point to go for me.My first well and fast running rom on the Xperia was the monox thats the point why i decided to donate some and get the latest stuff.Personally i can say that was the best rom for me on 4.2.2.Anyway all Roms are good,I try the 4.3 build of him and then i'll give a new feedback.
