OK, I got a lot of time to work, and a blazing fast internet speed for now. So I decided to give AOSP a try, this is based on MoltenMotherBoard sources (from Gio), and for me atleast, is amazingly fast
What works?
Everything should work
What doesn't, yet
You tell me!
What is next?
Cleanup, fixing minor bugs, etc

What this is and what this isn't
This is not CyanogenMod, this is (mostly) vainilla Android, so don't expect me to add any customization.
i compiled this ROM for the people who wants simplicity, who doesn't need a looooooooooooooot of customization options and want something fast enough for this device, or the people who wants to experiment the vainilla Android experience like in a Nexus device
If you still want customization...
Well then, I can do nothin' for you, but you can check these!
Based on this ROM
If you want more speed or a better experience, go here! Four AOSP Better User Experience PACKS
If you want TouchWiz, go here! Great theming and modding by A_U [AOSP][ICS][ROM] TouchWiz ICS V1
If you want a different type of customization, go here, another great modding by hsay [ROM][odexed]AOXPv1 [AOSP/AOKP]
If you want something done by autoradio (I have to admit, this ROM is kool!), you can grab New Experience[ROM][GPL][ODEXED][AOSP ICS 4.0.4][26-05-2013] New Experience
MODs (sorry for not taking a further view of them, but they deserve a place here!)
[mod] aosp 4.0.4 paul l. Build25

ANOTHER DISCLAIMER
Take in mind, this is mostly done by MMB team, and you, yes, you, those who are reading this, give support to them, in their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/moltenmotherboard?fref=ts, because they are the masterminds (lol) behind this ROM, I really, really do not like to take credit for something that is NOT mine. As I said before, I'm just taking the sources and getting it to work in our device, they did the dirty job, and a lot of devs like TheWhisp, erikcas, WaylandAce, psyke83 did a great job with this, go thank them, donate them, they deserve it. This is why I say that I'm not a dev
ABOUT CUSTOM ROMs/MODs.
Please, as I said, MMB team is the original creator of this ROM, go thank them, I give permission to everyone to use this ROM as a base, ONLY and ONLY if you credit MMB team (I do not need credits or thanks, I never needed them and I'm never going to need them). Remember that if you modify this ROM, you're on your own, I'm not going to give any support, this is AOSP, and is meant to be vainilla Android experience. I'm GPL compilant (or atleast I'm trying to), so, go ahead and do anything you want with my/MMB team code, but please provide the source as I did.

31Hey buddy,
Finally someone is working on a custom rom for P3100. I have a P3100 abd would like to test your rom.
Thanx
I have a P3110
I would like to try this, please~
I just have some knowledge about this and have rich experience about testing bcos I made a lot of custom roms for me~
thx~~
Exciting news.
Unfortunately i only have a 3110, otherwise i would have loved to help.
Best of luck with the Rom, I am guessing we have a chance of it becoming an officially supported device now.
Anybody tried this on p3100 ??

Did not work on P3113, failed to boot past splash logo. Getting adb up now so I can post some information.
Also had to change some of the assert info in Updater Script to be able to even install it (Basically removed most of it and set it so that if the device == espressowifi, go ahead and install).

Okay have flashed on P3100 as of now working very smooth. Some transition effects lags but its okay. I am already loving it. More updates when i explore all the features. I have the cyanogen mod on the latest ICS v4.0.4. Rocking.
Nice work codeworkx. If any future updates and testing please do write me will be happy to test it for you.
Now time to check if the apps working fine.
I take that hardware acceleration is not implemented yet?
I successfully flashed to my 3113. Awesome and super smooth so far. What would be the best kernel to flash with this?

And Google Chrome works! No more FC due to no hardware acceleration.
Edit: None of the other kernels I've used before seem to work with this. So a proper warning to those who will try. Guess no OC for now.

Yep, Gapps are not included, because this ROM is CM based and does not require Google apps, if user want the Google apps, user can download and flash Gapps itself. :silly:
I have not made own Gapps for this ROM because Gapps can be easily found from XDA.. E.g. in Nexus 4 themes and apps section there is one Gapps thread.

I have added few small tweaks to build.prop, but when I edit some kernel files then I add few init.d tweaks too. And because I don't have Nexus 4 it's a bit hard to tweak it. :silly:
Now I'm going to build new version for Nexus 4..
I also changed charger color from white to blue.
I'll add more tweaks to this newer version and also WebViewDream.apk (For DayDream)

Based on my collaboration with djmatt604 and the work on my existing Mackay ROM, we bring you the AOKP experience Infamous-style!
This ROM is based on the AOKP jellybean 4.2 sources
To this we added:
-The CM device & vendor trees, adapted to our needs
-Mackay kernel
-Some CM/AOKP cherries
-A unique set of homemade patches
-A tailor-made gapps included in the zip
Changelog version 1.7.4
-AOKP source code 8-May-2013
-TRDS code, including a Dark UI toggle
-Added toggle ribbon
-Added Hidden Statusbar Pulldown
-Latest Mackay kernel
Installation instructions:
-Reboot to recovery (CWM or TWRP)
-Make a backup of your current ROM
-Wipe system
-Factory reset
-Flash the zip (no need to flash gapps separately, as it is included in the ROM)
-Reboot and enjoy!
Don't try to do a dirty flash or restore system settings using Titanium, both cause bootloops. Trust me, I have had the honour of testing this for you!

Thank for your hard work. I'm downloading....
Really nice! Gonna try it ASAP.
Did you tame the unicorn, btw? Or ported any tweak?
Thank you, your roms are truly appretiated.
Awesome kasper!! Your 4.2.2 ROMS are the best . I´m going to try it now!
Just one question : Why you don´t include scripts for init.d or tweaks for build.prop or sysctl?
Hope you continue with your work cause it´s impressive.

I don't believe in scripts to improve overall performance...maybe in specific use-cases it can help, but not in general.
Well its booting faster since we can disable bootanimation,we are able to customize ui as we like,i think its great,i dont know though something, can aokp for p970 be updated when cm is updated too, even if cm10.1 gets changes for our phone spesifically?

CM10.1 and AOKP are separately updated. Important updates in CM are often quickly ported to AOKP. I use a common device tree for building Mackay ROM and AOKP, so all p970-specific changes for CM are also applied for AOKP.
I have to say that´s really good. Smooth and fast. I love more Paranoid ROMS but these is supperbbb! Great work
Oh yeah are there performance options anywhere or is aokp disabled them?

Due to general problems with Performance Options, they have been removed from AOKP.

Same issues as all JB4.2 ROMs (battery drain relatively high, camera (especially video) buggy).
Hello, does this Rom fix the several problems with the Bluetooth or does it include all bugs from CM?
It is nice to see that some people continue to develop for our OB.

This is normal for AOKP, it has no launcher settings and as I mentioned before p970 has buggy video recording.

I meant JB4.2 for p970, not JB4.2 in general. On my Galaxy S, both Mackay ROM and Infamous AOKP work perfectly fine.
Wifi tether doesnt work, but usb tether is just fine. It looks fast, but lets give it a shot after instaling more apps.

So the problem is that lg has not released the appropriate drivers or that cm devs dont have time for p970?I understood that u meant p970 i just wonder why p970 has that many bugs compared to others.

Well, yesterday I tryied to compile pac but it gives me some errors (and I debugged them a little) but now I can't access to the pc with the sources and I can't sync 14GB (or something like that) with 1Mb speed connection, perhaps for tomorrow I'll try again and keep you updated (maybe in the old pac thread).
Sorry Jeeko for going off-topic.

I haven't install this rom to my phone. But the latest Paul L. Build still has some bug on its GPS. It shows Kalimantan when I'm on Jakarta (indonesia). It says 9999 km accurate. I hope you fix this problem since you didn't say anything about GPS.
FYI, I've already use fasterfix and anyother gps fix but still facing GPS problem. Now i'm switchback to Stock GB rom and my GPS runs well. It shows 10 m accurate.

The problem has been tiny fixed, but generally the sound is low in noisy environments.
It can however speak with the receiver without problems
@Paul L. since I do not have wi-fi and Ubuntu does not recognize my internet key, I can not make changes to your source repository on github. For compile the rom I downloaded the source as .zip and, I worked offline

There are three options:
1. Proxuser had bad luck at compile time, meaning that at the moment he synced, the sources where bad. Unlikely, because cyanogenmod sources are most of the time intact, but possible.
2. You messed something up. Meaning: Did a dirty flash over another ROM or something else.
3. The kernel is screwed up, but as Proxuser only did changes to governors, this is really really unlikely.
The reason why there are only this three options:
The build i did myself today works fine.

From top of my head I cant think any reason why unofficial roms couldnt have anything the dev wants in them, not like there's some cmod police coming after you if you put custom kernel on your cmod.
What is that fast charging anyways? Is it harmful for the battery life?

Basically you can do whatever you want as long as you release the source. Just fork it and dive right into it.
Fast charging is not harmful for batterie, as it only tricks USB ports into giving 1A instead of the maximum defined in the definition.
