[Q] Blur email in minimoto - Motorola Droid 3

I would like to replace the standard enterprise email program in minimoto with the stock blur email (email 2.3.4)
I found a source for the files here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203813
Has anyone tried this? Any advice

I did try it. In fact, I tried adding a bunch of other Blur files. It didn't work.
The issue is that the Blur email app uses the stock Blur account setup to set up the email account, and Minimoto has a customized, non-Blur setup replacement.

Thanks. I was afraid of that. It's too bad because the minimoto app doesn't have any way to adjust font size. Have you tried some other market enterprise email app?

No, sorry, I don't use Exchange mail. I was trying to get Blur Mail working just as an exercise, actually. Good luck.

Do you use/like GMail? Cos you could always put your POP3 info into GMail and read it from your GMail app.

Gmail uses labels /filters.
It takes a few minutes to understand but once you do it obliterates antiquated folder usage.
Id highly suggest sync your email via Gmail. You can have it send mail that looks as if it originates from your original mail account.
I wasnt crazy about it but now most emails come in are automatically labeled and filed without any work from my end.
New emails that need filing can be done easily. Deleting just as easy as anything else.
Plus Gmail has instant notification. No need to set up push or hourly checks.
Looks like the next CM update will be adding Luccys BetterBrowser enhancements. So I will use Steel until then....thanks.
I tried the gmail thing before. Looks like i will be giving it another go. Just sux that there isnt a good email app available.

[Q] Gmail zoom ??

My mother use i9000 and she can't zoom in gmail application.
I try settings, menu but there is no option for zoom inside of Email. She complain that font is too small.
So is there any solution for this ? But without changing application ?
you can easily use pinch and expand to zoom in and zoom out
just like iphone
Pinching doesnt work with gmail app. You have to use samsungs email app. Open your gmail account with samsungs email app and you should be good to go...
Sent from my GT-I9000M
I can't zoom in gmail... Has there been some sort of update that my phone has failed to recognize?
[EDIT]
The default e-mail client is kinda useless if it doesn't support nested conversations and push e-mail, especially considering how laggy it is... Why doesn't google's own client work with zooming?

True,
there are 2 email software included with the phone.
I always use the Samsung Push Email (Samsung Hub) you can configure all your email accounts Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo mail, etc
and you can zoom and unzoom by pinching the email.
Now I have the Froyo (jpk) ROM and I can't remember if I already had the option before.
But now in GMail app, in settings you can choose the text size.

[Q] Samsung Mail App

Hello All. Am I the only one that thinks the built-in Samsung e-mail app is garbage? I have tried the ATT stock ROM's, as well as custom (right now I'm on Cognition), and the mail app is always the same. I hate the color scheme (blue on black), and it can't be changed. I prefer the default white background on most phone's inboxes. I also hate that all of my Exchange folders are jumbled together at the top of the screen. It makes it impossible to use. Most Android phones that I've seen (ie. the Incredible) only show the Inbox but let you hit Menu to choose another folder. I would definitely prefer this. I've also tried 3rd party apps such as Touchdown and Improved Mail, but don't like them. Bottom line, does anyone know if the Incredible's email app, or one from another phone can be moved over to the Galaxy and work properly? Or is there a way to customize the built-in app that I'm not aware of. Thanks!
Nope - was going to say use Touchdown
Yea I wasn't a big fan of the Touchdown app. I know that people are using an apk from another ROM (I think the Galaxy tab?), and loving it. But there were some issues with the usage. Anyone else have any ideas?
K-9?
10char
Yea I tried that but could never get it to work. I would always get a 404 error when trying to set up the account.
k9 works for me but setting up exchange is complicated. I was working well until the last release. Then I could not send emails. I reverted back to the previous version via Titanium Backup.
Tab Email is nice but no html for exchange 2003.
Improved Email works too but still had not support for Exchange 2003.
Stock email lacked html support also.
You might guess what my criteria is
while testing a rom from the I9000 forum, Darkyy's Doc 5.4, 5.5 and 6 I noticed the email client had support for html with exchange 2003.
What ever you decide on back it up. Titanium will restore your signature and accounts. Also a backup is good incase you goof and the email.apk is the same name. SQG Tools may restore the store for you. It also contains the tab version.
K9 for all of my personal email accounts and touchdown for the corporate stuff on exchange
Does Darky's rom email.apk have a better interface? (ie. not blue text on a black background, and no tabbed folders jumbled at the top of the screen)

I just got done using that, or really not being able to use it. I could send emails from it, but it wouldn't sync my inbox, but it sync anything older than 3 weeks stuff in sent mail. Switched back to stock because I don't have that many folders I ever use besides in/out and sent.
We need someone super talented to fix the galaxy tab one, it is pretty much exactly what you are looking for

Gingervolt email notification

I'm sorry I'm a noob, but I've searched and read a lot and I don't seem to see anyone with this exact issue....
I have a few email accounts. Before I flashed to gingervolt, I had messages from both accounts accessible in the same list and notifications worked for both. Now, I must choose which account I would like to access at a time.
I really can't find any settings to adjust this on the phone. Does anyone have a clue what may be wrong or is this just the way Gingervolt behaves?
Thanks.

If I'm the same as you you mean 2 accounts in Gmail. You will get notifications for both but you have to view each account seperately. I've never seen it any other way.
Sorry, I know I wasn't very clear. I've got a gmail account and then another non-gmail account that I get via POP/SMTP. It seems I only get notified for the account marked as primary and I have no way to change the frequency with which it pulls from the POP server... I believe it's set to around 30 mins, but I can't find a way to change that at all.
Does anyone know how to (using GingerVolt):
1. Change the polling frequency of a POP account?
2. Set the notification to work for both gmail and another account, regardless of which is primary?
Thanks!
Ok... So, I think K-9 mail is going to give me more frequent polling. Still testing....

Glad you're getting it figured out
I thought the stock email client did this... Not the gmail client but the AOSP email client which allows 1 centralized box. You can also specify how often it goes and checks for new mail.

Which is exactly why I posted... I thought those capabilities would be in the mail client after flashing to Gingervolt.
K-9 still seems to be working well enough for me.
Ok... I have figured out the proper imap settings so the sync time is no longer an issue like it was with POP, but I am sticking with K-9. It is really well done. The ability to set the notification quiet time and a unified inbox are worth it alone.

Hi...
I am using cloudmagic for few months... Tried many but fully satisfied with Cloudmagic...... Create an account in cloudmagic... then configure all your accounts...... If you flash roms and once you install cloudmagic afresh, just log in with cloudmagic account and you will have all your pre configured emails ready including exchange accounts.....

Nine - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ninefolders.hd3.
Using it for half a year already - awesome app. Installed Inbox and removed Gmail with Exchange Services from the phone completely.
Has trial period afaik.
I use Nine is a very good App!

Another vote for Nine. It's genuinely one of the best email clients I've ever used. Far better than any other Exchange integration.
Nine.
nine is the best excange email app.

Nine! Definitely worth the money!
Nine. It's awesome.
Outlook Beta/Mailwise
I have been using outlook beta from play store. Love it because it skips encryption or forced pin usage from the exchange server. Also MailWise is excellent. Also has option to skip encryption or forced PIN if you enable it. No root necessary.
Outlook Download: taps.io/outlookmobile

Another vote for Nine! Switched a number of users at work over to that app. With the new Outlook beta...if only it had mark as read from the dropdown notification menu like Nine, I'd probably switch to that. (it's a really nice app!)

It does not sync with calendar
I feel Nine is the best apps so far. Only thinking whether I should buy it or not.
Just to use the mail App I moved to MIUI, which is having good mail app.
I do not understand why Google is not making a good app with their build. Google mail app/stock does not show pictures in mail rather it show it as attachment.
I mean if anyone sending picture pasted in mail text space, then it comes as attachment.
My previous phone was Samsung and really like the mail application. I used Huawei phone same experience, mail application is good. Only for Oneplus one where I have to use CM or CM flavour ROM which does not have a good mail application. I have even tried in recent lollipop builds, all mail apps having same issue. Picture comes as attachment.
