[Q] Launcher

Hey guys
I managed to root my device with the first guide (oneclick) and uninstalled alot of LG crap, same time i uninstalled the LG launcer. - Today i got a problem with my device. I couldnt ring and hear people when i manged to get in contact.
I decided to factory reset the phone, but my problem is that i dont have any launcher now. When i do the hard reset thing (vol down + home and power on) i can get to the screen where i can type in pin code, but after that there is black screen cause there is no launcher. The search function dont work but the notification bar is working. so i cant get to the market and install. Mostly it just shows the LG logo when the phone is turned on and the touch screen is working cause it makes the click sound. But nothing else.
Does some one have an idea to how i can get a launcher installed ??

Please use search function. This problem is already discussed here. You have to use ADB.

Hello my fren.. Did u in the 1st place had made backup or ur rom via nandroid before removing stuff from ur rom? If yes then its too bad.. But there is always an alternative..
1. Download a custom available here and place it in ur mmc card.
2. I presume that u have paulobrien 3.0.1.4 r1 - ClockworkMod Recovery for the LG Optimus 2X installed then flash it via clockwork.
3. Enjoy ur new fast phone!!

naah i did not backup.. thought i would never need it.. but i was wrong..
so here is what i did.
When the nortification bar was working i went into the musicplayer from there, in there i managed to get the search funtion in albums wich gave me the opportunity to search on the internet via the browser (wich i could not open or find cause no launcher ).
I went to 4shared from there and found a launcher but i could not install it because the installing from other source funtions was disabled. Fortunately it gave me the option so i could enable it and i did.. AND YEEEHA i manged to install a launcher and retsarted and it dos work !!!
Before when i pressed the home button it just restarted the phone i could do nothing ! only black screen with logo.. so i reset it and tried the above...
it seems that my phone is still rooted, cause i have the "superuser" thing but when i get time i will unroot it and sell this crap of a device and get back my old Nokia N8 again

Don't just root your phone without learning how to actually use the powers it gives you. If you remove anything from /system you will not be able to restore it with factory reset, because factory reset relies on what is in /system. But I guess you figured that out the hard way.
Learn to use ADB and nvflash, nvflash being the easiest based on the guides at 2x.modaco.com. ADB can get you out of most trouble by editing/replacing single files and nvflash will enable you to overwrite all partitions, i.e. with a stock ROM.
Everything you need is in these forums or in the wiki.

I was trying the ADB way, but my computer didn regonize the phone so it was difficult
Now i just need the stock apps and launcher so i can unroot it again

start off with this page:

once you have restored the stock rom you can now delete the clockwork recovery by using this:

after that unroot in superoneclick and your all done.

What do you want for the phone - lol?

Funny how when ever some user messes up something - then its the device that is crap

Ehmm the deivce is crap... the sounds is terrible.. and the reason why i messed up was i had problems with the device. When i call some one they cant hear me and i cant hear them.. same with income.. but i can text msg.. and its not my carrier or other stuff.. it is the ceappy device ;-)

Stuck on LG screen!

Hi guys,
Im new here and I wanted to post this in the FEAR developement thread, but for some reason I cant, anyway
Im on FEAR 8.0 and it has been running smothly. Today somehow my whatsapp, facebook etc always was forced to shut down when I tried to open it. So I rebooted an now Im stuck on the LG screen. Sometimes it freezes there, sometimes it reboots to the LG screen again!
Any ideas?

Well, seems that the system (Android) has crashed on your phone due to some unknown reason.
The only thing you can do is to do a factory reset (from ClockwordMod Recovery which I assume you have installed).

Yes I think I have it installed, but how does that help me if I cant access the phone anymore? Is there a manual for the reset process?
Is there no way to get the data off the phone, because that would suck big time

Go back to stock rom, search my thread to see how!

At the moment the ROM is not really my concern!
The only concern is my data!
I need a way to get it

Installed FEAR 10 without full wipe and everything is still there and running

[Q] Scree Lag Issue in 318E firmware

Hi,
I've been on Spice default GB fw (downloaded from Spice India) site for quite some time and been living with the screen lag issues (i.e., whenever one switches on the phone, there is a substantial delay in the screen and the unlock pattern screen actually coming up).
Given to reviews that the Wellcom A99 318E firmware was the latest one and without this issue, I tried the same for the past week with smooth functioning and no screen lag. I rooted the same and tried removing some of the default apps in the same to lighten the memory hogging but there were some issues and I had to do reset. Post reset, there was a continuous phone restart problem because of which I had to use SUT L3 to again install the Wellcom A99 fw.
Now after the new installation, I'm facing the screen lag issue again. Any help or ideas?

hello srawat_itpro,
The best is to wipe all your cache and dalivk cache and plus wipe data back to Factory reset and install a custom rom. i guess that will resolve all your issues and make your phone awesome!.

no 318E is india this is 318D this is also a CLS Rom dont rem were i got it
but this one is good and may be wont give u the screen lag try it
infact im using the 318E and now and im not getting screen lag which was their a long time back its kind a funny the way this phone of ours reacts

Thanks a lot Haree. I stuck to the 318E, only did a reset and restored back all the data and now except for one time there haven't been any screen lag issues. I believe the main issue is because of apps.
Another problem that I see now is the phone freezing and the random reboot issues. As I said earlier, I've used SUT L3 to go back to 318E and do not have the CWM recovery any longer. I guess I'll backup my data, put CWM and then after doing all the data / cache and dalvik cache wipe, would try out the stock 318E again. I liked the idea of Mac Lite FB rom but as I understand - there are several things removed from it for making it lightweight which are essential to me - such as FB sync and Google maps.
Will put this plan in action over the weekend as kinda swamped with work. Thanks for the help.

I have screen lag issues whenever I install Go Launcher and ProxyDroid together. Can others verify. This was on both the CherryMobile A01/A03 ROMs and the CSL Spice 318B/318D ROMs.

go launcher its ok i did not have any screen lag i dont know what proxydroid is for and i have not used it but i felt that the launhcer drained my battery very fast so i went back to zeam launcher

Go launcher is okay except that within a few days of installing it, I would start suffering from screen lag issues. Till then my phone was mostly stable. Anyway started using ADW Launcher EX which I bought of $0.10/INR5 during the timed promotion.

[Q] Restore LG stock apps/complete

Hi everyone, new user here, long time reader.
I had problems with my 4X earlier today be course I installed the Holo Launcher HD via somboons' thread, now it all worked and it's not the first time I have flashed my 4X, but about 6-10 hours later the I lost my 3G connection.
I spoke with my carrier and they tell me that it's all fine on there end, except that my fone does not accept new IP addresses (they change every so hours) So I'm guessing something went wrong, during the "remove LG stock apps" process.
When I tried doing a hard reset "power button + volume down" i got no error, except that when it was all done, it was still holo launcher that was on my 4x - This is properly normal(!) but writing it here anyway so you got an idea of where i come from.
After re-rooting and installing CWM i loader up a 2 month old backup and 3G works now, with stock LG (CWM Installer_V10F) . So I'm golden as of now.
Now someone is offering me a good price for my used 4X but I want to make a hard reset before I even consider selling it to him (complete stanger btw). Is there a way to restore all factory settings after the "remove stock LG app" operation or am I just missing something.

Just downgrade to V10A or other; factory reset; upgrade to the latest using "WEB Upgrade"; factory reset.

[Q] Xperia SP multitouch problem?

Hey,
I just noticed that when I'm pressing the screen with one finger, then trying to hold another finger while still holding onto the screen, there is a small delay in recognising the 2nd finger...
This only happens after 30 minutes of usage, as the multitouch works just fine for a while after powering up.
The delay is not that much, but is enough to not recognise when I'm simply tapping the screen, which makes it impossible to play games like fifa 14 properly, since I have to hold down the button for a while to have a response...
I'm currently rooted, on stock 12.1.A.1.205, on the stock kernel.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem, and I'm sure isn't a hardware problem because it started when I updated the phone to the 12.1.A.1.205 version.
I also have a problem with the back key, it works for a couple of clicks and it stop working until I press the home key. This happens after the update as well, before all has working fine. It's annoying!

I thought I was the only one with the back key problem. The multitouch one I never tested.
This is why I moved to CM11 (also because of ThemeChooser :silly: )

Sorry to ask this, but, what is CM11?

CM11 is a custom ROM (basically a whole new operating system). And it's based on android 4.4.4
I used to be on CM11, it is so good, but I prefer Sony's UI.
Also, thanks for the help. Since this isn't a hardware problem I'll try a factory reset and see what happens...

I don't think factory reset would work because I keep flashing different roms with complete wipe.

Apparently a factory reset didn't help...neither a firmware upgrade...
So it has to be another thing causing it....
Any other ideas?

Bad news with the reset then
I had to reboot my phone in safe mode (I think this is the name in English, "modo seguro" in Spanish) and the multitouch seems that doesn't fail in this mode. So I think is some program that is loaded with a normal boot which is causing the trouble.

Yeah but when I start the phone it works just fine...It's after a while that the problem happens...
Even if I don't open an app, it's still happening...

Hmm But there are programs that start automatically. I killed every process I don't use, and I'm testing if it works.

I'm fresh out of a factory reset, so I don't really have any apps installed except titanium backup and es file explorer. I also killed every app except the ones that the phone needs to work properly....still no change.
After a random amount of minutes it works fine, without doing anything...
Also a question: How did you test it in safe mode? You can't have your downloaded app on safe mode to test it..

Well safe mode isn't the solution....you can't be onto safe mode for ever...
It's funny cuz the multitouch thing is actually working, but you have to hold the screen to do so not tap it. If u tap it it wont recognise ur finger
Any one got something before I actually give up on this?

The weird thing is that after rebooting from the safe mode to the normal mode and kill every app in execution that I don't use, it works. The multitouch and the back key is working. I have no idea what to think.

When I start up the phone and start a game like Shadow Fight, it works fine for me too. But when I launch another game that's where it starts to delay...
I don't know what else to do...thanks for your help man

Sad news...
After trying everything, from settings to scripts and touch boosting apps, I left my hopes on changing the ROM i use...
I had a stored backup of my 4.3 stock rom in the past. I restored it today and the problem persists...
I also flashed a fresh new build of cyanogenmod 11, which I used in the past aswell. No help...
I can now conclude that this is a hardware problem.
But what I don't understand is...why does this only happen after 30+ minutes of usage of the phone?
I mean it works perfectly fine on games when I start up the phone...

OOPS that's for unresponsive touch, sorry
