Quick Settings - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if you can enable quick setting in the notification bar? To enable/disable things like wifi, bluetooth, etc.
I found this quick settings app apparently imported from Sense 5, but I have Sense 5 and don't see these quick setting anywhere...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183614

At least two ROMs have this so far (Trickdroid and Renovate). They're not 4.2 quick settings, more like the toggles you get in CyanogenMod and Touchwiz (which is a superior implementation anyway, imo).
I don't know if anyone has it as a mod for the stock ROM.

I see. Hopefully we either get 4.2 soon or someone will release an add-on for the stock Rom... It's really annoying...

If you want to add a CM style quick settings to your notification bar without committing to a ROM with it added, I can highly recommend Power Toggles from the Play Store. Highly configurable and works a treat.

+1 to this. Coming from an S2 I really missed this feature. Power toggles does the job almost perfectly, with the only downside being that you have to have an icon in the notification bar. You can make it transparent but it's still there. I prefer to have the battery monitor icon so I can see battery percentage. Something else I missed

Notification Bar for CM7

after using cm7, I found out that the notification bar is no longer there. I don't use ADW, so there's no setting I can use to 'unhide' it.
basically I am referring to the shortcuts and/or last recent apps bar when I pull down the notification window.
What do u mean? Cm does not have recent apps in notificationbar as sense rom's have.

I know CM7 doesn't have it, I mean what third party can I install to bring back this feature. I actually prefer shortcut than recent apps, so it doesn't have to be recent apps on the notification bar.
It's pretty easy to get used to using long press home to view recent apps. it's so second nature noter I forgot all about that sense feature.
Swyped on transparent XDA app.
Get cape. Wear cape. Fly!
turns out I have to do something different to bring back the power widget in the notification bar. The power widget (if that's what its called) disappeared when I change the theme, and I've to uncheck 'show power widget' in the Cyanogenmod setting, reboot, and then recheck 'show power widget' again to bring back to power widget.
thanks and considered this case close

Lockscreen customisation - What apps are you using?

The lockscreen is the only part of my Nexus S I haven't customised yet.
What are your favourite apps and mods for the lockscreen? Mind sharing them and perhaps a screenshot?
Cheers,
L
Widgetlocker, you can get it from the market.
Then look up some custom sliders, there are some great minimalist ones out there that are far prettier than the standard android one. I may get round to adding more here but for now check that out, its how i did mine.
Thank you Corvidd, will check both out!
Is there anything to bring notifications on the lockscreen at all?

You can add widget in widgetlocker, then you got notifications in lockscreen...
You can also let notification bar free to be open and add shortcuts... really useful app.

Widgetlocker for sliders.
Widgetsoid for power control toggles.
SimiClock for Weather, time and battery.
In Widgetlocker - enable the notification bar.
The end result of all this is a ridiculous amount of 1 click functionality from your lock screen.
I also use NoLED for notifications along with WidgetLocker, works well.
Hope this helps!
I used MetaMorph for my lockscreen.

Anyone tried GOTO Lockscreen?

It has more or less what I want although I would really just like a list of all the notification with ability to launch directly the associated app on the lockscreen..
I hear this is what Sense 3 does but can't find an example anywhere..

Go to the market and download Widgetsoid. Then create a widget on your homescreen, add the toggles you want, under Theme (I think this is where it's at), check the box for widget invisible then the other box that says Notification. This will add the toggles to the drop down but no widget on your homescreen. Very handy app to have.

[Q] Nova Launcher issue with status bar

Whenever I pull down my notification bar and collapse it, the notification bar looks like it is about 50% transparent. Then after about 2 seconds, the notification bar goes away completely then reappears transparent. I just recently updated to Kit Kat over the weekend, but my setup never did this on Jelly Bean (the notification bar was always transparent). Is this just how Nova works on Kit Kat or is it just me? Fix?

Wanam Xposed v3.2.0 (set for transparent notification header)
Nova Launcher v3.2 (set for transparent notification bar)
Go to looks and feel section. Try checking the last two options and see if that helps.

I've tried almost every combination of those options alongside the Wanam Xposed ones to no avail. Thanks though.
I wiped Nova Launcher's data and that actually made things work the way I expected. However, in the middle of (re)setting up my Desktop/Drawer/Dock, the Notification bar started to misbehave again (I hadn't yet made it to the "Look and Feel" section). So I'm thinking the "buggy" setting is somewhere in those sections...

[Q] How to change icon size/theme in Google Now Launcher?

I've started utilizing Google Now quite a bit lately. And now I would really like to get back to using the Google Now launcher. However, It's still missing 2 key features in stock form. I'm looking to see if anyone has a solid work around for them, that doesn't hinder performance.
1) Change icon theme
2) Change icon size
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Icon changer on the playstore
Thanks, but it looks like it only changes/resizes the icon on the desktop and not the app drawer. Am I doing something wrong?
You can just drag icons out of app drawer first . you can't have it already there
