64GB Dev Edition vs. Unlocked on HTCDev.com - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If you buy the 32GB sim-unlocked version of the HTC One and simply unlock it using HTCDev.com, is it then exactly the same as the Developers Edition, except that it has only 32GB instead of 64GB?
In other words, is unlocking on HTCDev.com the same as simply getting the bootloader unlocked Dev Edition?
Or does the Dev Edition have some other benefit?

Probably, dev version, have the S-OFF and sim-unlock.
But i don't know with security.

I don't believe any phone has s-off.

Well the 32 gb SIM unlocked one from HTC store is also SIM unlocked. And HTC confirmed Dev Edition will not be s-off. So neither of those are benefits of dev edition.
Anything else?

Not all phone is Sim unlocked.
And for S-OFF i didn't read nothing for this, if you can share here a link i can see.
A benefit may be what you have complete warranty because the bootloader is unlocked by htc...

The SIM unlocked version is SIM unlocked though. Google and you will find about s-off. An HTC employee posted it on Twitter and it appeared to be legit.
You are right that warranty may be a possible benefit.

Unlocking bootloader?

I have noticed that s-off could be coming soon. But I've got itchy fingers and want to unlock my one
If I unlock the bootloader via HTC dev and s-off becomes available can I change the unlocked to locked again? So this doesn't affect any warranty?

Hi
greetings.
yes that is possible you can revert back to LOCKED. but after you achieve S-OFF
That's good. Had the one x before and unlocked the bootloader n never had any warranty problems but just wanted to be sure if something was to go wrong with this phone I could hide the unlocked
Thanks for clearing that up

Flashing RUU with Unlocked Bootloader?

SO if I want to flash an RUU does my phone have to have a LOCKED bootloader?
Currently mine is unlocked and on the HTC One X I was not able to use RUU`s when my bootloader was unlocked.

What Eddy said but I'd like to add when I had s-off on my One XL that was no longer the case and I'm sure it's the same on the One but I haven't ran any yet to know for sure.

all but the Verizon HTC one are easily unlocked at HTCDEV.com
and the Verizon one has an s-off workaround to get unlocked also.
do you have a G2 or are you asking how to trade for one ?

one look in the development section should answer your questions the bootloader has been unlocked by HTC since the beginning
If you have an HTC One GPE 4.4 or version after with locked bootloader. You cannot unlock it anymore (it may be an bug from HTC or sth)

[Q] Need and official T-Mobile Rom for AT&T Moto X

I have a friend with an AT&T Moto X. He is selling it and offered me a good deal on it. It is already unlocked (I know I may need to unlock it again if I change roms and such but I assume his code may carry over and I don't mind buying an unlock code if needed). I am very interested in the phone but would prefer to have the official stock T-Mobile rom on the phone. I can install a custom bootloader if necessary, but I cannot find an official T-Mobile rom for the phone. Does anyone know where I could find the official stock T-Mobile rom or know how I can switch it to the T-Mobile rom from the AT&T rom? Thanks
If it's an AT&T Moto x, then you can't bootloader unlock it. If it is SIM unlocked once, then it'll stay that way forever. If it has a locked bootloader, then you can't really install a rom on it.

I thought I should stay unlocked. I had read a few posts from people suggesting it might have to be redone though, so I wasn't sure. So It is stuck with the AT&T rom for good then I presume? The only reason I would have a desire to change the rom would be to take advantage of a perticular T-Mobile app, which I can get on the phone anyways. Would there be any notable problems that anyone knows of with using an unlocked AT&T Moto X on T-mobile?
I am using one right now and it works fine. The only possible issue is if you're in an area that hasn't had a network refarm. In those areas, you can only get 2g instead of 3g. It has the same LTE coverage either way.

My AT&T Moto X is bootloader unlocked. Cost me $40 to get the code. There's quite a few threads being posted about it. I'm using it on T-Mobile right now. Once it is carrier unlocked, it stays that way. Same with the bootloader. I get LTE on T-Mobile.
It's well worth the $40 to unlock the bootloader. You can root, install roms, and pretty much do whatever you want to your phone.
Side note: I don't think there is an official T-Mobile rom since the T-Mobile version is the unlocked GSM version.

Okay? I was answering the OP's inquiry about a stock T-Mobile rom, and like I said, there isn't a T-Mobile rom since it's a gsm unlocked version. I don't know why you quoted me with dev images?
I read where people have flashed this to att phones and gotten it to work. Sorry didn't mean to quote you

If it is not on 4.4.2 already, you can root it and use a SafeStrap ROM. If it's on 4.4.2 already, you're out of luck. I don't think AT&T has sent out the update already, so it probably doesn't have 4.4.2.

Stock & Unlock?

Hey guys, I was wondering what steps I would have to take to rollback my phone to Stock, and Unlock it so I can sell it?

Flash stock firmware via RSD or Mythtools. http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=7
FYI, you can sell with custom ROM, I've picked up 2 AHDs from amazon this yr (I fried one and cracked the screen on another) and both times I ran across phones with custom ROMs.
Yeah, but I heard that the unlocking method only works on stock roms, plus I don't want disgruntled people blaming me for bugs found in Custom Roms.

If you're running a custom ROM, you already are bootloader unlocked. If disgruntled ppl are what you are trying to avoid, flash back to stock, unlock the BL, then sell

Wait your saying that if my phone has a unlocked bootloader then you can't sim/network unlocked even if your on stock rom.
I got a unlocked code a while back from AT&T and it didn't work.I was rooted with bootloader unlocked on stock AT&T jb rom and code didn't work.Is this the reason why it didn't work.Got a ATRIX HD.

I didn't talk about being sim unlocked in that post. I have no experience with sim unlocking. Idk much about the sim unlocking at all.
