Note: MoDaCo Toolkit is no longer available via the Play Store. MoDaCo Toolkit is now a free, ad-supported application with a Pro version. Previous Play Store purchasers will receive the Pro key free of charge (details to follow)
As you may know, I often create modifications for Android and rather than them ending up all over the place, I'm now adding them to the 'MoDaCo Toolkit', which is built to use the Xposed Framework - http://mdc.gd/xposedfw. I plan on updating this every time I come up with a new tweak, be it a generic Android modification or specific to a particular device.
The pre-requisites are as follows:
You MUST be rooted
You MUST have the Xposed Framework installed and active
You MUST accept that modifications are used at your own risk
You may NOT distribute the toolkit (including in custom ROMs) - link back to this topic
Hit the 'Follow' button at the top right of the main MoDaCo Tookit topic to be notified of updates
Got that? OK.
The Toolkit can be downloaded in the main Xposed Toolkit thread here.
To use, simply download and install, enable the module in 'Xposed settings' and then enable the mods you want in the 'MoDaCo Toolkit' application. Note that most modifications will require a reboot to take effect and not all modifications will work on all devices!
HTC One specific modifications currently included are:
Action Launcher Pro + HTC One: Transparent status bar.
HTC One: Disable high volume warning - disable the volume warning that shows when cranking up the sound with headphones in.
HTC One: Enable ADB with secure lockscreen - ADB WILL NOT be disabled on boot if the device has a secure lockscreen configuration. DANGER: This is a potential security risk - handle with care!
HTC One: Enable advanced reboot options - aka EPM, show reboot / recovery / bootloader reboot options on power menu.
HTC One: Enable button options (only required on Android 4.1 ROMs) - the button options item will appear in settings, allowing you to configure the back button long press as menu.
HTC One: Volume wake - wake your device with the volume keys!
HTC One: Hide Kid Mode on power menu - this removes the Kid Mode option on the menu displayed when you long press the power button.
HTC One: Match battery image to % - the standard battery images don't correspond to the % remaining, this fixes that.
HTC One: Rename Flashlight to Torch - for us UK types.
HTC One: Show Blinkfeed icon in launcher - if you are using a third party launcher, this provides a simple way to access Blinkfeed. Just remove all the homescreens.
Other modifications currently included are:
Amazon MP3: Force US locale - use this if cloud player is not yet available in your country. Clear data on Amazon MP3 after enabling.
Facebook: Force Home Compatibility: Facebook will detect your device as Facebook Home compatible.
Google: Disable Wallet checks - remove region and root checks from Google Wallet.
Google: Force Play Store to 720P - your device will appear as a 720P device to the store, useful if apps are missing on your 1080P device.
Google: Prevent app disabling - apps from outside your region (e.g. Wallet, Sound Search) will not be disabled on startup.
Google Nexus 7: Show Camera in launcher - restore the missing Camera icon to the launcher.
Google Nexus (all): Disable safe volume warning.
Google Nexus (all): Enable multi-user support if unsupported on stock (e.g. Nexus 4).
Google Nexus (all): Enable advanced reboot options - aka EPM, show reboot / recovery / bootloader reboot options on power menu.
Google Nexus (all): Show user on power menu - this allows you to switch users using the long-press power menu.
HTC First: Hide carrier in status bar - stop the carrier name showing in the top left.
Pebble: Low priority notification (removes persistent icon).
SlingPlayer: Disable legacy hardware warning - remove the warning when connecting to older Slingboxes.
System: Allow all rotations - rotation will be allowed in all directions, even upside down.
System: Device properties - a number of device properties (normally read from build.prop) can be changed on the fly. BOARD, BRAND, DEVICE, MODEL and PRODUCT are included initially. Want others? Let me know!
System: Disable forward lock - apps will not be able to install to /mnt/asec, instead installing to /data/app. NOTE: May cause issues on some Samsung devices.
System: Enable action bar menu button - the software menu button will be displayed even if you have a hardware menu button.
System: Enable app buttons - the disable and notification options will be enabled for system apps.
System: Enable dreams service - enable the dreams screensaver service.
System: Enable lock screen rotation - if your device supports it, this will allow lock screen use in landscape.
System UI: Custom operator name.
System UI: Hide AM/PM on clock - hide the AM/PM indicator on the clock when not in 24H mode.
System UI: Hide battery meter - hide the battery meter, useful if you're using a third party app in the notification bar like Battery Widget Reborn (now also supports the HTC One!) or battery percentage.
System UI: Hide ongoing IME switcher - hide on the input method switch prompt.
System UI: Show battery percentage - show the remaining battery percentage next to the clock.
System UI: Show navigation bar - this allows you to show the navigation bar on supported devices.
Trackball Alert: Easy download link - easily download the TBA app and Xposed module.
Wireless: Enable NFC when screen is off - NFC works when the screen is off, useful for NFC launch tasks.
Wireless: Enable Face Lock with VPN - VPN (Credential Storage) will be available with Face Lock security.
If you have specific tweak requests or general questions, please visit http://mdc.gd/modacotoolkit
Note that special steps are required to activate the Xposed framework on the HTC One - see http://mdc.gd/xposedfwone for further details.
Big thanks go out to rovo89 for the framework and also to Bharath Prabhuswamy for the application icon.

RAYGLOBE MIUI
>>> Smooth |Heavenly sound |Rock stable | Themized | Miui and Samsung togheter <<<
MIUI brings a unique interface with features such as extensive themes support, inbuilt backup and restore, useful functions such as guard mode, and more. But I wanted also Galaxy S3 widget, app, launcher so i have created RAYGLOBE MIUI.
MIUI 4 for the Gs3 is based on ICS, so I ported from JB Galaxy Nexus.
This rom is compatible only and only with Galaxy S3, model number i9300. It’s not compatible with the US variants or other devices. Check your device’s model number in: Settings » About phone.

This Rom install will wipe all your apps, data and settings (but it will NOT touch your SD cards, so don’t worry about those). Backup your Apps and important data — bookmarks, contacts, SMS, APNs (internet settings), etc.
Important! Don’t forget to at least make a backup of your APN settings, which you can restore later if your data connection does not work after installing the ROM.
Install ClockworkMod recovery on your phone
Download the latest version of RAYGLOBE MIUI ROM from the xdafileserver.nl/rayglobe
Copy the downloaded zip file from step 3 to the internal SD card on the phone.
Now, boot into ClockworkMod recovery. To do that, turn off your phone. Then, hold down Volume Up, Home and then the Power buttons together until the screen turns on, then let them go. The phone will boot into ClockworkMod recovery in a few seconds.
Select wipe data/factory reset, then select Yes on next screen to confirm. Wait a while till the data wipe is complete.
Select mounts and storage/format system, then select Yes on next screen to confirm. Wait a while till the system date wipe is complete. Go back
Select mounts and storage/format data then select Yes on next screen to confirm. Wait a while till the system date wipe is complete. Go back
Select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from sdcard. Scroll to the ROM file on the SD card and select it. Confirm installation by selecting Yes – Install _____.zip on the next screen. The ROM will start installing.
After a few seconds, the graphical installer will come up. Here, follow the on-screen instructions to install the ROM.

What is MIUI?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NDu7RxWTfd4#!
Core Features of Miui
http://en.miui.com/a-24.html
First boot things that I do
Enable root: Find the Permissions app, turn root switch to ON.
Apply Rayglobe Theme: Theme Manager > Rayglobe
Change battery display: Settings > Battery > Battery indicator style. My personal favorite is top-bar
Set long-press back button to kill app: Settings > Button > Long-press Back to kill app, and delay time underneath
Turn off 3G download limit: Downloads app, menu > settings > turn off Data download prompt
Getting ROOT permissions
Back to desktop, click MENU> Settings> Applications. Check "unknown source" Click "development", and check "Debug USB"
Built in application
Built in applications, that are head and shoulders above any third party app on the market.
Screenshot
The built in screen capture feature is a lifesaver, if you need it. You don’t have to run a program prior to taking a screenshot, nor you have to shout into your microphone, nor you have to shake your phone in convulsion trying to capture the exact moment you need. Screen capture works as follows: press VolDn+Menu.
File manager
There are three tabs, depending on what you need. There is your standard full featured file browser, FTP server, for accessing your SD card from a remote computer and a “Browse” tab. The Browse feature is very handy, it sorts all your files into categories: Docs, APKs, Themes, Music, Videos, Pics, Zips, Favorites and Misc granting quick access to the files you need, no matter where the files are located on SD. There is also a very nice breakdown of your used space, to easily identify how much of your space is occupied by music, pics, etc..
Backup
MIUI features a full featured backup utility. You can backup all your System (Contacts, call logs, messages, wifi settings, layouts etc..) and Apps (+Data). Works very well.
Music Player
This, probably, is the feature that held me on MIUI the most when deciding weather to switch to another ROM. Other than it’s beautiful, fast, downloads album art and lyrics dynamically, it reads your music by Folder, which is how my music is sorted on SD. It baffles me how other players miss this simple feature. Another great feature is excluding files that are less than set size. It’s great for ignoring all kinds of ringtones and notifications from your library.
Gallery
Some nice features include Hide folders (album art for example), Favorite folders, Lyrics.
Contacts / Dialer
Contacts are pretty much standard to Android, with a few exceptions, like being able to quickly block a person from contacting you. The Dialer on the other hand is completely redesigned. It features T9 dialer (dial by name, like Sense dialer), a lot of built in features, like two way call recording, very detailed call log. For example it shows you how long the missed caller called you for. It identifies the country of the number by the country code in the number etc..
Network Assistant
In the Network Assistant, you can set a maximum amount of traffic to be sent over 3G if you have a limited data plan. It will also tell you which apps are using the most data, and by pressing the button at the bottom of the Traffic Ranking screen, you can limit apps' internet usage. From there, you can also set the default settings of newly installed apps, useful if you want to set apps to only use data off wifi.
Visitor Mode & Access Control
These settings are hidden a little bit. To access them, go into Settings > Security & privacy > Privacy protection
Guarded mode is also known as visitor or guest mode. When visitor mode is on, call logs, notes, gallery data, and text messages are hidden and the launcher cannot enter edit mode. You can also set a password for leaving visitor mode.
Access control gives you the ability to password protect applications. The ability to hide the apps is currently missing but should show up in a later build.
Firewall (formerly Do Not Disturb)
Using the Firewall app, you can send unwanted callers directly to voicemail and reject text messages as well. It has a lot of customization including a whitelist or blacklist and keywords for blocking text messages. Other settings include Anti-Stranger mode (Muting first ring when an unknown number calls, Filter Spam Messages (filter SMS based on keywords)
Privacy Mode
Enabling Privacy Mode will hide all your SMS and call logs. The Launcher editing will also be disabled. It’s useful when lending your phone to someone for a short period of time.
Access control
Access control is something new to MIUI. It controls what apps a user can see/access, without a password
Long Press / App manager / Recent
Just like in any android distribution you press and hold your home key to bring up the recently run app list (grid). Just like anything in MIUI they went further and here’s what we get:
Pressing and holding the Home key brings up the grid with 12 recently launched apps. There is an indicator on each icon, which shows you weather the app is running or not.
There are two buttons on the button of the screen: App Killer, which if pressed will kill all apps, and show how much memory you’ve just freed up. And App Manager, which sends you to the App Manager menu. Pressing and holding an app icon will send you to the apps’ management screen, where you can force stop the app, move it to SD, clear data etc.
Also worth mentioning is the built in Back Button killer. While in any app press and hold the back button, it will force close the app and clear it from the memory.
Visual Style
MIUI is beautiful. Being a multimedia / interface designer I know what I’m talking about. It’s simple and functional. It gives you the eyecandy stuff without going over the top. Obviously some themes are not up to scratch, like with any modding community, but the professionals make it look beautiful, and it’s all free.
Theme Engine
If you get bored with how your Android looks, dont't worry. The theme engine in MIUI is amazing. Not only you get lots of themes to choose from, but you can mix and match, taking the lockscreen from one theme, icons from another and fonts from yet another theme. There is a theme gallery online, so you can browse and download what you like. All nicely built in into the ROM and applying takes seconds. Here are the things you can customize:
Boot Animation (the one you’ve been flashing through recovery)
Boot Audio (any sound you like. Default is silent)
Custom Lockscreen (the way your lockscreen looks and functions)
Lockscreen wallpaper (self explanatory)
Icon (Icon Pack)
Status Bar (the way your notification/toggle bar looks)
Launcher (the way your launcher looks, including the status bar and dock)
Wallpaper
Font (choose a font for your android)
Text Style (how the SMS/MMS app will look)
Dialer Style (how the dialer app will look)
Ringtone
Notification
Alarm
Adb don't work
Click MENU> Settings> "option developments", and check "Debug USB"
Aroma install stuck, no key press
If aroma install stuck Press and hold Power + Home + Volume[+] buttons until its boot in Recovery and then reinstall with English language
Camera black band
Black band on right are visible only in first start. Close and reopen app
Where is the New sound settings feature to set dial tone as piano tone
Go in phone/settings/dial pad touch tones/tone/piano sound

Hybrid Properties – DPI / Layout / Colors
Settings / Hybrid Properties / (swipe right)
Interface – Here you can define your workspace layout and assign global properties (Phone UI / Phablet UI / Tablet UI).
Apps that have been set up manually will override global properties. These are simply preset options available to the user as a base.
Apps – Define individual properties to customize how the app displays. These settings apply only to the selected app.
Lock Screen - The lock screen is controlled by the "Android System" app. Make changes to this app to control DPI, Layout and Color.
Apps - Size vs Layout
Size allows you to change the DPI of the selected app
Layout changes the outlook of the app by defining which screen size it should use (changes may be slight or drastic, this is up to the app)
When layout is adjusted, sometimes you may have to adjust the size to make sure items fit neatly.
Colors
Settings - Hybrid Properties - Interface - GLOBAL COLOR (enable)
For every app installed (system apps & user app) you can set individual colors for the status bar and navigation bar. This can be done globally or on a per app basis. In order to enable hybrid colors you MUST enable per app color
Color - Transparent Status bar/Navigation bar
Transparency for both the status bar an nav bar should be set only on the launcher (default launcher or installed launcher of choice). Setting transparency on some individual apps will return "garbage" as apps don't draw under the status and nav bar. It's best to set a solid color for the status bar or nav bar in individual apps.
Color - PIE Colors
PIE color is based on status icon color, navigation glow color and navigation button color.

Expert Mode – this gives you deeper control over the hybrid engine. Options included are overall DPI and UI settings and extra options per-app.
Once expert mode is selected, under the interface option you would now have access to the lockscreen slider and Global Apps control.
The lockscreen slider allows you to change the DPI of your lockscreen, while the global apps section allows you to change the settings for all system apps or user app at once.
On a per-app bases you now have an extra menu with three options when expert mode is enabled (Expand / Force / Large)
Expand – displays app in full screen mode
Force – force scaling through other hosts such as widgets
Large – Force app to display as though it were displaying for a large tablet
I think everyone pretty much understands Expand.
Force
In short, it allows widgets to succumb to hybrid properties.
Widgets depend on the launcher to define its size/layout parameters. So normally, even if you setup an app to follow a custom layout, the widget ignores these scaling values and uses its default settings as dictated by the launcher. Force allows you to override this system and the hybrid values of the app would be forced on to the widget.
Use this feature cautiously and enable it only if you need it.
Large
Sometimes, changing the layout of an app to Tablet UI isn't enough to actually change the layout of the app. For such apps, enable the large screen option to see the difference.
For some apps, enabling Large give it a whole new layout, additional to the available layout options.
Again, use this option only if needed.

Expanded Desktop Mode (Full Screen Pie Mode)
Long press the power button and select Full Screen (PIE) – this removes your status bar and navigation bar and activates the PIE controls. All screen real estate is utilized without stretching or distorting your homescreen.
The stock Paranoid Android launcher has the option to use a pinch gesture to toggle this mode.
There is also a quick setting PIE tile to toggle PIE mode
- To activate PIE without activating Full Screen mode (PIE and status bar at the same time), you need to set your nav bar to 0%. Do this by going into
Settings -> Hybrid Properties -> (swipe right) -> Interface -> (slide nav bar to 0%).
Because the status bar is still visible, PIE will not show status information when activated like this as such information would be redundant.
Reserved
Paranoid Android - Main Features
PIE is an unobtrusive replacement for the stock on-screen navigation buttons. It stays hidden off-screen, only to be brought to life by a predefined gesture. PIE can be manifested on all four sides of the devices.
PIE isn't just about a new navigation experience, either – it also offers customizable colors, status information (like clock, date, et cetera), notifications, and toggles. One nice thing about PIE is that it's dynamic, meaning its size will be defined by the device's dpi; in other words, you won't see a stretched phone UI on a tablet.
Hybrid Mode
This Rom features true Hybrid Mode… it lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even system components individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app (Lockscreen, navigation bar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets and your regular apps of course).
Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
For every element that you like, chose a mode (Phone UI, Phablet UI, Tablet UI) and/or a size. Regardless of the mode selected, you are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to.
You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot.
What is DPI?
Dots Per Inch. As the name defines, DPI is the number of dots per inch of a screen.
In PA, we can modify DPI of any & every app or service independently.
Lower DPI value, would cause a general shrinkage, & higher DPI value, would cause the app to get bigger.
In general, we have a few standard DPI values:
xHDPI: 320 DPI | HDPI: 240 DPI | MDPI: 160 DPI | LDPI: 120 DPI
Per App Color
Part of the Hybrid Engine allows you to color the status bar and navigation bar for individual apps. This completely transforms the user interface and allows for customization on a completely different level.
HALO (2.0)
What this update brings...
Version 2.0 of HALO retains all the original functionality of HALO as described below, with the added bonus of
1. The actual notification is displayed as opposed to just the notification text
2. As a result of point 1, some apps can provide you with a "richer" notification experience (notification widgets).
The most common use of notification widgets would be found in music apps, however, any app can create this type of notification.
Remember, this is dependent on the app itself. HALO does not control this behavior and is not responsible for creating the widget.
As long as the feature is supported by the app however, it can be displayed in HALO without the need for any additional HALO configurations.
These notification widgets can be interacted with via multi-touch. One touch to drag HALO and hold the notification on screen, the second to select an option in the notification widget.
Activation
Pull down (status bar) or swipe up (PIE) the notification shade, tap HALO icon
NOTE:
Animator duration scale must be turned on, at least .5x or higher (Don't know what this is, don't touch it)
Deactivation
Reverse HALO Checked* - Double tap HALO, hold on second tap and drag over red X
Reverse HALO Unchecked* - Tap and drag HALO over the red X
*Reverse HALO option: Settings - Toolbars - Reverse HALO
Move HALO - Same as deactivate but DO NOT place over the red X. Instead, drag to screen location you would like HALO to dock at.
Settings - Toolbars - (HALO)
HALO Policy - Choose either blacklist or white list
Blacklist - select the apps that WILL NOT appear in HALO
Whitelist - select the apps that WILL appear in HALO
Hide HALO after activity - HALO will appear for incoming tasks and scroll out of sight after a short while.
Reverse HALO - Swap the task switching and moving gestures
Re-size HALO - Select between predefined HALO sizes
Pause Active App - When opening an app in HALO, the underlying/active app will be paused
Gestures
Swipe Up (marker 1) - Dismiss Notification
(persistent notification CANNOT be dismissed - just like your status bar)
Swipe Up (marker 2) - Dismiss All Notifications
Swipe Down (marker 1) - Hide HALO
(HALO immediately goes into hidden state, bypassing normal hide delay)
Swipe Down (marker 2) - Silence HALO (New notifications will not cause HALO to pop-up until the user "wakes" HALO)
Swipe Left/Right - Swiping away from HALO allows you to scroll through notifications (if multiple notifications exist).

Yes, you are completely right. Thanks I'll update it. Device and kernel tree are the ones from official CM.

EDIT: sources stated in third post, hope it's OK now
Could just resist and flashed
About this advanced settings FC's , it is normal for non official PA. I have the same on Galaxytab 7.0, maybe it contains device specific settings I don't know
But I found serious bug... My external SDcard is not detected :/
EDIT: Wait !! It is mounted on /storage/sdcard1 , but just doesn't show up normally with X-plore like it did on 4.2.2
EDIT1: Bug with busybox and Xposed, same as in SlimBean 4.3 by Demetris, Xposed could not be installed because of busybox not being found.

well, this "bug" should not be that big of a problem OP should easily be able to fix the mountpoints inside the ramdisk
(if not, just PM me )
Also I had problems with HybridEngine and HybridProperties not remembering per app DPI and Layout settings :/ Now flashed SlimBean, I miss that rom
the backlight hardware button doesn't light off, and i can't find the setting to configure the timeout. another thing is, can you disable the soft navigation by default? kind of redundant, and the hardware button light not switching off bug just made it twice more annoying.

@FunkyRasta Can you be more specific? I belive that external SDcard is mounted on /storage/sdcard1 by default on CM 10.2. It shouldn't be much of a deal to change it, however I don't want to deviate from CM or PA standard is it's not really neccessary, where do you think external SD should be mounted?

No problem here mate, check the screenshots below.
Please make sure you followed procedure to install Xposed on 4.3
How to install Xposed on 4.3 based ROMs:
1. Install XposedInstaller_2.1.4.apk DON'T USE IT
2. Reboot to recovery and flash cwm-Xposed.JB4.3.Framework.Installer.zip
3. Reboot and use Xposed Installer to enable modules, etc.

I hope to introduce backlight hardware buttons control in next build, should be ready until the weekend.
Soft keys can be disable by setting navbar height to 0, tt will be defaulted in next build.

Hello! First, let me take the time to thank you for the time and effort you have put into developing this rom. I know how frustrating it is, especially when all you get in return is a lot of criticism and insults. Thank you very much, and yes, you will be receiving a donation from me pretty soon to buy you a beer.
Well anyways, I used this ROM on my galaxy gear and I did not find the option of replying to my text messages directly from my Galaxy Gear. Maybe it's just me? Well anyways, adding this feature would be great and very useful. If the feature already exists, i would like some help in figuring out how it works.
Thanks again, keep up the good work! Even though you have a lot of haters on your back, keep in mind that you also have many supporters that are very great full for what you do.
GOOD JOB BRO

You need to make sure your phone supports it along with your carrier. Most USA Phones have Bluetooth tether removed and therefor you can't use that option. (Note: This is different that WIFI Tether)

Yes. I usually use the touchwiz as my main screen using the 3 shortcut clock. One launches nova, the middle launches settings and the last one launches gallery. It would be cool if i could use that settings shortcut to launch the android settings instead of the super limited touchwiz settings.

Try this:
EDIT: This wont work actually.. Hmm.. All I've done there is included the settings shortcut as a default shortcut on the clock faces.. if you overwrite it, it will disappear.
EDIT 2: The only way of getting this working the way you would like it to, is by editing gear manager.. Gear manager pulls a list of all the apps on the gear and saves them in /data/data/com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager/files/wapplist.xml
The only way to add custom apps is to manually edit and add apps to that particular file, Or manually edit the com.sec.android.widgetapp.watch.shortcutclock_settings.xml to modify the shortcuts... which would allow you to modify the shortcuts to point to ANY apps on your gear.
EDIT 3: Editing "/data/data/com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager/files/wapplist.xml" may not work, I believe this file is overwritten when the gear re-pairs up with the phone, although if you delete that file it does reload the current installed apps on the gear... which is interesting. Could still be worth a try tho !
EDIT 4: I did find something cool while digging around, We can pull the unread notification count using sqlite3 ! Could be cool for some custom widgets or something.. You can grab the database: "/data/data/com.sec.android.provider.badge/databases/badge.db"
Nice to see you and Null back on here fOmey .
Thanks for coming back. love this ROM. gonna flash the new version soon. as promised here's my confirmation code and some beer money...

Is all notifications covered in the badge.db or just the unread ones?
I´d really like a widget telling me what notifications that where missed, will take a look at the db when I get the time.

This app is exclusively written to be used as an widget on the NULL_ Rom @ the Samsung Gear!
This app includes two simple 1x1 widgets that shows the number of unread notifications on your Gear.
I also has the option to play custom sounds based on what application is sending the notification.
A great tutorial for using this widget is made by almulder1092 and available here!
Basics:
* Tap widget = Manual update or notifications app launch.
* Play sound upon recieved notification, either a default sound or custom sound per application.
* Trigger update upon ScreenOn and when the Stock notification app is launched
* Customized Text size
* Customized Text Color
* Customized background
* Shows a 0 or a blank spot upon 0 onread notifications
Widget 1 - Bold Text:
* Bold text
Widget 2 - Normal Text:
* Normal text
Permissions:
The app needs SU access since it chmods the badge.db where the unread notifications is listed. Haven´t found any other way around that yet.
Tip: Go into SuperSU and click on NotiCounter Widget and select to inactivate Notifications so you don´t need to see the splash screen every time the app requests SU rights.
It´s still an beta so please report bugs, have experienced some FC´s (should be solved with v0.3b) but overall it works fine.
Keep in mind to use only one widget at a time to keep away from trouble. If you want to change any settings, remove widget from home screen, change settings with app and then put the new widget on home screen.

Changelog:
Click to show the full Changlog.
0.2b
- Fixed the off centre issue
0.3b
- FC´s should be gone now!
- Added two new Widgets that don´t use the ScreenOn Intent and only updates on time basis (3 min/update) May not be useful since the FC´s now are solved anyways.
0.4b
- Settings added - Start app first and choose settings, then add your widget on Home Screen
- Sound can be played upon recieved notification, choose a custom file of choice. Works only if Screen On is choosen.
- Set update interval: Screen On or a custom time of choice.
- A total of 6 widgets, all with different layouts (See earlier in post). Settings applies on all widgets.
0.5b
- Bugfix: multiple instances of widget running in background wich made sound weird when enabled.
- Built in sound file added, just tick the "Play sound?" box and not choose any custom file and the built in file will be used instead.
0.6b
- Tap the widget and the Notification App opens! turn this feature on in settings. If box is unticked a tap updates the count as in prevoius versions.
0.7b
- SU rights requested from Settings app and with visuals telling when app is ready. Please remove widgets on home screen before update app. (Using an external library for SU request so I can´t do anything about the sometimes long waiting times during update)
- Added two Experimental widgets (Elipse and Round) wich both triggers their update when the badge.db file i written to. This means that the widget will update upon reading the incoming notifications aswell! Screen on settings and update time is not important in these widgets. Please try this and come back with feedback.
0.8b
- Since the last Experimental release didn´t work for anyone but me... Here´s another one with a total rethink about updating widget after notification reading. Please tick the ScreenOn box before adding the experimental widgets. Update as previous versions.
0.9b
- Some users have experienced problems with multiple services (ghost widgets) starting in the background when updating to null_ 17 (Have no clue why yet, seems quite random) As a sollution for this I´we added a setting that makes it possible to Lock a single widget. Use it like this: Enter settings and tick the "Lock one widget" box, choose the widget you plan to use in the menu to the right. Save and go back to the Home Screen and put the widget on there as usual. If a service tries to start it will automatically get destroyed. If you try to add another widget it will update the first time and then get destroyed (Still be visible on Home Screen but be "dead")
- Disabled the option to choose "Screen On" or update time since that might be a thing that´s causing the above issue, Screen On is default now.
0.10b
- The multiple service issue wasn´t null_ related. The services had one single line saying they would autostart at boot, wich mean that when we all upgraded to new rom and rebooted all services got autostarted, Plain silly! :silly: This is changed in this release. The "Lock widget" stays for a while just to be sure that this was the full problem.
0.11b
- HUGE UPDATE!
- Rebuilt GUI with Holo Theme to match null_ rom
- New Icon, Thanks fOmey for that!
- Sound on Gear vibrate mode only (If Gear is set to silent or sound, the widget sound won´t play)
- Experimenal widgets from 0.10b is now default
- ScreenOn is now default, time based update is removed, widget will NEVER update upon Screen Off.
- Custom sounds added."Edit List" shows a list off the custom apps you´we chosen."Add Apps" shows the list of notifications, tap an app name to set a sound for that application.
- A sound library with 11 files is attached, will be copied to /sdcard/NotiCounter upon first launch.
- I may have forgotten something aswell..
Note1 about Custom sound function:
Since Samsung doesn´t close their SQL db as they supposed to I have to do a major file operation before I can pull the name of the incoming notification. Thats why there´s a slight delay (aprox 2-3 sec) before the sound will play! Nothing I can do about that atm.
Note2: In order to add custom sounds for your apps, your gear will need to have a notification from the app already on the gear or the list will be empty. Thanks almulder1092 for the Feedback
0.12b
- Quick Fix release
- Bug that caused an error if no sound file was selected is fixed
- a Silent soundfile is copied to /system/media/audio/notifications upon first start off app and with a reminder to choose that file if you want sound enabled on the Gear. The reminder shows if you tick the "Use sound" box and have Sound choosen as option in Gear settings. A reboot is necessary to see the new file in Gear sound settings!
0.13b
- the Silent soundfile is copied to /sdcard/notifications instead. Wasn´t working well in /system/
- the old soundfile placed in /system/ is autoremoved when starting app for the first time.
- When no sound file is selected, the GUI will show the text "Default" instead of a blank.
- Most informative messageboxes only shows on the first start off the app.
- Added a Restore Settings button wich restores all saved data made by the app.
- Thanks to almulder1092 for the excellent test drive off this release!
1.0 - Stable
- First stable release!
- The Add App list is now showing the apps selected under Notifications in Gear Manager.
- Text size is configurable
- Text color is configurable, it´s set using the RGB colorpicker showed in the post above.
- Background now has 4 options, Elipse, Round, Transparent and custom, last option let´s you choose whatever image file you want!
- Show 0 or blank spot (at 0 unread notifications) at any background, not limited to Transparent no more.
- Added three power saving modes (Not that it´s a battery hog but it´s better to let the user decide how to update!)
- New custom built filemanager wich fits nicely on the Gear screen.
1.1 - Stable
- Fixed a bug that caused an FC if "Play Sound" was activated but no sound file was manually selected.
Download:
NotiCounter Widget v1.1
If you want an earlier release, all is listed here!)
Wishlist:
- Start Notification app when taping widget (Implemented)
- Notification update after message app check. (Implemented)
- Custom sound based on Notification content (Implemented)
- Custom Text size, color and background (Implemented)
Thanks
Goes to fOmey for the null_ Rom and the finding of the badge.db file!
And to almulder1092 for the excellent bughunt!

Love it.
But as you say. I get some info that it has stopped.
Is it me or is it a bit to high out of center?
Is it possible to make it bolder?
Tested some changing in the options but no luck.
Didn't try to restart between the changing.

I'll try to track the FC's, I'we found one that I'll try to solve: if you have one unread notification, goes to message app and reads it and then back to home screen and tries to update widget it freezes.
the good thing is that the app restarts right away after pressing OK.
I haven't put that much effort in fixing the off center issue, it's on the To do list.
What do you mean with options? What I know I haven't done any
Sweet. Nice work

It´s developed using null_ 15 but since it´s based on stock files the custom rom version won´t make a difference.
You can always tap the widget to update manually.
Regarding FC´s tried the thing I explained earlier but no FC so I Assume I need help locating the reasons.
If someone experienced an FC and can explain how to recreate it I would be very happy, then I can attach log and see whats causing it.
Really nice. Useful if you're using nova launcher. Just a minor niggle - is centred too high. Always looks out of alignment with other widgets.
Nice one

Weird, the Main activity doesn´t do anything, just show the messagebox and then selfclose. The service itself should not be started unless you put the widget on the screen...

So far so good, but your description is off.
I tried styles 1 and 3 expecting a "0" but those were the ones that showed up blank... either semi-transparent or fully transparent.
The other styles are the ones that actually show a 0 when the unread count is 0.
Maybe it's just me, but that's what I'm seeing on my device.

Oh sorry, nr 2 and nr 3 should change place.
Fixed the first post now.
Thanks for notice!
MoDaCo Custom ROMs (MCRs) have always been based on the stock ROM for devices. I've recently switched my daily driver phone to a Nexus 6 and my daily driver tablet to a Nexus 9, giving me an opportunity to have a good play with Lollipop, the new Android release.
On the whole, the latest version of Android is fantastic, but as is often the case, I have seen a few opportunities for tweaks and improvements, which once again has started me thinking about MCRs, particularly with the loss of Xposed on Lollipop which had become the de-facto way to apply tweaks.
With this in mind, i've started looking at the best way to create and package modifications, and this modpack for the Nexus 5, 6 and 9 is the first step on that road.
Initially, the changes are purely to SystemUI. Only 2 files are changed, no wipe is needed if you already have an unlocked bootloader (stock certificates are retained). A 'MCR Control' application is included to configure the modifications.
Features (some are only available on specific devices / telephony enabled devices):
'MCR Control' configuration application
A one handed mode which moves the button towards the edge on the navigation bar - press and hold back or recents to toggle
Multiple battery level display options for status bar and lockscreen
Option to enable the stock Lollipop battery percent feature
Option to remove carrier label from lockscreen
Option to reverse order of navigation buttons
Option to retain network type indicators when roaming
Option to disable '4G for LTE' indicator
Option to disable orange colouring of status bar and navigation bar separately on battery saver
Option to hide clock
Option to centre clock
Option to disable icon when alarm is set
Option to ignore priority when determining whether to show heads up notifications
Option to disable heads up notifications altogether
Option to double tap status bar to sleep
Option to double tap navigation bar to sleep
Option to enable double tap to wake (requires root, be sure to auth SuperSU after clicking the box, applies a few seconds after each boot) - NEXUS 6 ONLY
Option to enable red / blue / green charging LED (requires root, be sure to auth SuperSU after clicking the box, applies a few seconds after each boot) - NEXUS 6 ONLY
Options to lock status and navigation bars to black (user request - Nexus 9 blacklight bleed mitigation)
Option to enable rotation in lockscreen
Option for re-boot menu in status bar header
All options are applied in real time
Compatible with both odexed and deodexed stock ROMs
To install:
Ensure your device is running STOCK LRX22C - use on any other ROM version will make bad things happen!
Download the zip file below
Install or boot TWRP using fastboot
Backup your stock system partition (you'll need to restore this to apply OTAs)
Push the modpack zip file to /sdcard
Install the zip file in the usual manner
Download:
r12 for Android 5.1 - DOWNLOAD
To revert to stock:
Restore your backup of the system partition!
To revert to stock if you didn't back up:
Download the correct factory image from your device from the Nexus Factory Images page
Extract the files (including the internal images zip)
Locate the system img file, reboot your device to bootloader and 'fastboot flash system system.img'
Boot to recovery and wipe the dalvik-cache
Future releases will add features, but as always MCR will be focused on adding features in a stock style way - you should wonder whether they are mods or whether they were always there.
Enjoy and let me know your thoughts!

Hmmm I downloaded the file to my phone, booted into recovery and then I installed the zip from there. When I restarted I didn't see the battery percentage text at all. I know I didn't follow your instructions above but shouldn't the way I did it work?
If not why not? I'm curious as to why it didn't for me.
Thanks for this. I remember your work in the beginning with.... I can't even remember what device it was, you've been sharing your work for so long.

Thanks man! Clearing the caches is exactly what my phone needed. :good:
Yes, it works only after a cache wipe.
Also would love to have the battery icon removed, as we have the percentage.
Great! Will we be seeing an online kitchen at some point?

Never say never.
I notice a mod moved this to Themes and Apps even though it's neither. Odd.

A few more requests
1. Network toggle 2g/3g/auto
2. Sync toggle
3. Remove airplane mode etc, if possible a setting menu.
