Porting - HTC Incredible S

I was successful porting a Rom to incredible s but WiFi doesn't work how can I fix it? It keeps saying WiFi turning on

Congrats for porting a new Rom.
It's related to kernel. Make sure you are using right kernel.

I think I told you this once before; if you want anything else than speculations about what might be wrong (although I'd also put my vote on kernel) you should post a logcat or kmsg (still not sure if it is called kmsg) so it is easier to tell what's wrong.

I want to save logcat to c:\ but it says access denied

How can I change kernel? I flashed a kernel through recovery but the Rom won't boot

As splux said provide some info. Yes, you will get bootloop if you flash incompatible kernel.
Flash kernel based upon your sense version and OS.
Please be clear on what you are doing. Encouraging you to search Before flashing..

Tbh, I'm starting to doubt that you've managed to get a port booting...
Download either dla's cm10 ROM or szezso's cm10 ROM and get the boot.img from the zip. Or you can build it yourself, both of them have provided links to their sources.

You are using the wifi modules/drivers/whatever/haven'tsleptonight from dla's ROM, right? If not, that might explain why it's not starting.

I kept the WiFi drivers and modules like It was said in the port guide

And if you want the one to see that you have answered, quote the post.
As far as I know, dla uses other WiFi modules than other kernels. So try using the WiFi modules from his ROM.

Afaik you will need the WiFi modules specific for the kernel. For instance beastmode modules don't work with redux kernel.
Which guide did you use for the Rom port so we can see what you've done?

I'm wondering the same thing. My device works very well with the leaked kernel, except for the battery life. If he managed to accomplish the impossible, I'd be very surprised.

Dear OP,
Thanks for your efforts in cooking the ROM.
However, your thread is highly misleading when some serious efforts are being put to develop a kernel.
Thus, sincerely request you to post a detailed description of your ROM which should include below:
> Screenshots
> Kernel version
> ROM Source
> Compiler
> Installation Instruction
> Known bugs / Issues
This would be highly appreciated by you.

Gingerbread CM7 for S6500D

First attempt: created repository at http://github.com/federivas/gingerbread_jenad
Everybody may use and modify sources; I'm not like other people...
Sources of CM7 from github.com/CyanogenMod. Kernel and modifications from Samsung official sources for S6500D. And, of course, a lot of work done today at home...
Some errors compiling, but I'll try to solve them; if you think you can help, download sources and publish your work here.
Managed to boot it? If yes, I'm sure it'd work on Ace Plus too. I tried to port cm7 on it, but got boot loops...
Sent from my GT-S7500 using xda app-developers app
So, this will use a new kernel? Will there be a NFC version (NOT a major deal though now)? Good luck. If we don't have JB till 30th June, this will be the major thing for our Jena. Do not rush, we have patience.
Now compiles OK; generate some .img files, but I need to compile kernel too.
Anybody can help me? I don't know how to compile kernel too and finally get a .zip file to flash ROM.

To make zip file, execute "make otapackage" . And the kernel...dunno about it. I think you have to move the kernel folder to some folder called arm-eabi-4.4.3 just search for it inside your cm7 folder

This is how the kernel is built: https://github.com/TheWhisp/android_device_samsung_jena/blob/jellybean/BoardConfig.mk

I've tried installing the 5.1 a few times (with stock firmware between) but I get one bug.
Terminal Emulator always crash as soon as I start it.. "The application Terminal Emulator (process jackpal.androidterm) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. [Force Close]"
Only suggestion for improvement I can recall at the moment is the center-aligning of the alarm-clock text on lock screen. (When center alignment option is enabled).
Other than that the rom works perfectly and it's by far my favourite, keep up the good work.
Is there a camera fix that enables flash for optimus nexus rom, the one from cm7.2 thread doesnt work here.

Flash on camera: As far as I know, I've investiagted about it, and samsung used a weird interface to work with the flash on camera in stock rom. there is not a dedicated folder for that led, so i don't know yet how to implemetn it on CM7 camera app. THERE IS A FIX ON 3rd POST.
