Hi.
I am using LightJB rom with CoCore kernel on my device and i got a problem with the app drawer..
It always rearranges my apps after boot, i got like 40 app on my phone spread up on like 9 pages..
Is there any way to fix that? (without using a different launcher, i like TouchWiz)
Note: I had this problem with any rom/kernel i have used, even the stock roms.
Thank you!

Hi,
I recently updated from an old 2.2 rom to 2.3.4, (surface rom), and have noticed that occasionally the phone seems to crash for no apparent reason. It is however, not a reboot, as far as I can tell. phone locks up, within 5-10 seconds i'll see lock screen, (there's no boot animation or anything, or error message), with all previously running applications closed. Can't reproduce reliably, last occurred when I was just listening to music on it.
Any idea what sort of crash/problem this is, and what might be affecting it? (ie launcher, rom, kernel etc)
Running surface rom, semaphore kernel, zeam launcher, not OC'ing
Thanks for any help!
Mate i think surface is not too much good....i think u should go with Blockbuster rom....u just flash and you ll find difference....if u like enery efficent then dnt flash anyother kernel remain on stock....and if u likr Overclocked kernel then go with GalaixanGt or Semaphore 1.5.0.....then u see the really stable and energy efficent rom.

I just upgraded my phone to 2.3.4 with the custom rom "simply Honey" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020720
the installation went smoothly without any hassles and i successfully flashed my device using odin, however, i am not able to access any UI modification features or themes. I even installed the Tw4(modded) version from the addon list through CWM Recovery mod and when i reboot there is no trace of tw4, the phone acts as it was before. There seems to be no tw4 in the home switcher app too. Can someone help me ? one of the reasons for me to use a custom rom was that i could mess around with the fact how the phone looks.
Yaar i think that rom didnt give you modification right so thats why you are avlw to change launcher.

Hi Guys, I've done a search and come up with nothing.
I've been on Andriod for 2 years had 7 devices in that time, rooted them all, Very comfy with Flashing ROM's etc.
PROBLEM: Some apps make my screen "Flash" repeatedly.
SOFTWARE BEHAVIOUR - The apps that have done this so far are, Facebook, Gallery, Doubletwist & Quadrant. The App will load fine, display the landing menu and all seems well. Sometimes i can even use an app for 30 seconds and all seem fine. Then i will click a Facebook post, or a "pile" of pictures in Gallery and it will start FLASHING
DEVICE BEHAVIOUR When one starts to do it the Back & Menu keys no longer work, but Home will always return me to the front screen. Phone functions normal (but App is still in same state). If you kill the app then it opens where up where you left off but once you start to navigate it starts flashing again.
I've experienced this problem on:
CheckROM
CriskeloRomNOTE
KINGDROID ELEGANCE NOTE (Current ROM)
ACTIONS TAKEN SO FAR.
Uninstalled / Reinstalled the apps (FB and Quadrant) - still comes back.
Flashed Different ROM's
I'm as close to stock as any of the ROM's above are. I'm not using any 3rd party launchers or any customisation software.
Any ideas guys

Tried Stock ROM??
Thanks
Thats about the the only ROM i haven't tried. I'd have thought that it would have been a problem for other users though.

I would say that the stock rom be the first thing you try. Try and see if you have the issue the way Samsung had intended it to be used.

The question is though why its no one else having the same problem?
I'll put the stock ROM on and see what happens
Can anyone point me towards a ROOTED stock ROM for an UNBRANDED Note?
Cheers guys

Why nobody else has the problems you have? If the problems still exist on stock rom, i guess you got a faulty screen/ other part of hardware.

If you have same problem after Flashing. Try Flashing LA3 through PC Odin.

Yeah but that wouldn't make sense, if the unit was faulty then it would exhibit the behaviour all the time. The only problems I have are with the apps mentioned in the OP so therefore it couldn't be a hardware problem.

Quick update - (I dont normally have auto rotation on. It annoys me) However i just had it on to watch a video. I checked facebook and after a while it started to flash. I rotated the device and it stopped - weird.

If they exist in stock rom, too, it is hardware related, imho. You don't know which triggers the flashing of the screen. Maybe it occurs only on a specific temperature, or CPU operation these apps produce.

Any news? would be sort of interesting.

i installed the rom about few days and when i try to open phone or contacts its takes a 2-3 seconds to open it
maybe to change the rom to another jb version?
which is the best?
I think thats not a big problem.I am on jb and i too have a very little lag with the contacts app but i am not thinking of another rom
Anyways its your wish to move on to another jb rom but as all the jb roms were at the early stage,i guess all the roms will be almost same
You need to wait for some time to really find the difference between the roms
thanks i tried about 10 roms and all of them sucks.i dont know how to find the perfect rom.

I have noticed that if the apps u mentioned stays in the recent apps list, if works a lot better. Also if u use task manager or any app killer or ram booster, these will also cause it to slow down.

If the apps were in the recent apps list, then they will be running in the background and so loads faster
of course it is. Otherwise the contacts app takes about 3 secs to open
i never deleted my apps after using it.its stays in the taks list and still slow!

I told you what you can do in first. You can use newest CoCore kernel, put PegasusQ as governor, SIO as scheduler (with No Frill CPU app from Play Store) and debloat it (remove Samsung crapware). And that is it. Or go back to GB. Next solution is better phone sadly...
P.S. You have option in developers option to put max apps in background - do not put it to 3, put to standard limit.
Settings> Developers options> Limit background proccess.
I don't have bugs in gps with pa
