I used the HTC Sync Manager to get all my music on my phone. But I can't seem to find them on here. Does it do some ridiculous thing like iOS does and makes it all this one file and its inaccessible?
I want to edit some things on the file like naming and what not but can't find the files to edit/replace.
The Sense music app is very nice but it also cuts off the names of a few bands. Like a band named Dream on, Dreamer is now just "Dream on" but if i play one of the songs from an album, the info at the top does show the correct name. Makes it sort of irritating. Does anyone know how to fix that also?
I think the app is just a mess. It downloads album artwork that should already be there because it is in itunes, and it cant even get the right image. :/ Any way to fix that also?
I feel like its just better to through all my files in to sdcard/music and call it a day. Especially if I can't get the Sense 5 music app to behave like it should. Shame to have to stop using the most elegant music app ive ever seen if I can't get this stuff fixed.

Are you talking about the individual tracks? If so, what on earth gave you the idea that iOS has all the tracks stored in one file? iOS doesn't use the actual track titles, but stores them individually in a multitude of folders.
Anyway, on my One, I found the music tracks in Device>Explorer>My Library>Music. Are you rooted?
And greetings from Upper Marlboro.

iOS does store them as one file. Being apart of the jailbreaking community I know how it works sort of. Which is why it was so hard for us to get music in to the music app on iOS took a long time but we got it. You may be right though on that its not just one file but more. They aren't useable files though, but im pretty sure its just one file. It's not like that on your computer of course. I have all those files which im debating if i should just throw them in the music folder.
No im not rooted. Never rooted before since this is my first android phone and im scared to death. :x 3 years of jailbreaking means nothing when rooting. Gotta keep this device for 2 years or I'll be going back to an iPhone 4. I plan on rooting it but not for the next few weeks.

I've been a jailbreaker since the first one came out and know the iOS file system well. Maybe we're discussing separate things, but:

Wow. o_o just saw it for my self. I guess when i read the one article before gremlin came out i mistook it for saying the audio files were bundled in to one large file that only the music app was able to process. That was a long time ago. Wonder why it was so immensely hard for developers to get music in to the app. Must be other hoops they have to jump through. Also all my MP3 files are renamed with 4 random capital letters so its not perfectly untouched.
Also I found where the music is located. Surprised I hadn't looked here yet. its at SD Card/Mobile/Music/C/Users/*Username*/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music
Seems like it just takes location of music which would be C/User and so forth and puts that in to Mobile/Music. Sorta of dumb but thats whatever. DIdn't find anyway to fix my issues though. Guess I'll switch to NexMusic or NowPlaying for music. Gonna miss the UI of the Sense music app though. :/

Anybody have the apk for fancy widget?
Yes, I do. I'm not at home right now, and I'm not sure when I will be home. I'm on a short vacation and the apk file is on my desktop computer at home. I found it on the internet if you want to look for it, or you can wait until I get back home (which will be Monday morning--I think).
I tried searching for it on google, but I think all of sites were forced to take it down due to HTC's C&D.
I love the look of Fancy Widget, but I'm constantly having a problem with the time not updating. The task is not being killed since it's on my task killer's ignore list. It seems to happen at random times...sometimes while the phone is in standby, other times while in use. Is there a solution for this?

It's funny you say that because BW has always worked perfectly for me, and for that reason I switched back to it. That's fine with me because I just saw a skin I really like, and I e-mailed the dev to see if he could modify it slightly. He cooperated and now BW looks very very close to the Sense look (other than the weather icon being on the right rather than centered).
This is the best HTC Sense-like clock. It looks even better than Weather Widget with h7c skin, but has this strange update issue, when I have to wait sometimes for clock to update.
BTW It shows us how Market is NOT open and without control . It's better than AppStore and we can always use *.apk, but it's sad that if some app isn't good for hTC for example, they simply delete it.
It wasn't deleted, HTC asked the developer to take it down I beleive. It was taken down by their choice from what I read, and probably a good idea. It was so similar to the HTC one, I'm sure they have rights on it

The Market never claimed to be open or without control, its just a heck of a lot less demanding/strict than the app store... The underlying code for Android is open but anything that manufacturers or devs add to the code itself (IE: Sense UI, Motoblur etc...) along with the apps on the market, are proprietary and therefore NOT open (unless otherwise stated).
no weather info is displayed on v1.2.4
How do you check if there is no virus or malware (calling international numbers i.e.) in any of these files? Is there any other way to check this, besides blind trust?

Should say in manifest (request privileges) if it can make phone calls -- which this app only asks for GPS & Internet access.

It's posted in the G1 forum. What makes you think it wouldn't? I personally had an issue with the time freezing constantly, but others haven't reported the same thing.
for me its working absoutely file no problem at all
Been digging online and through the forums with no luck...can somone post up the old version of Fancy Widget??
Nevermind...guess they don't allow it on here. If anyone can PM me it, that'd be awesome...
I've been using custom screen lock sounds for a while now, because the default sounds were bad.
Silent for locking and the iPhone sound for unlocking.
I replaced the ogg files in the folder using Root Explorer and all that.
It's been working up until now.
Just out of the blue, the sounds are different and I can't change them..
I even deleted the ogg files in the audio folder and they're still there!
I haven't made any changes to the phone to make this happen..It just randomly started using different sounds and it's really ****ing annoying now.
halp
UPDATE!!
I was looking at the properties of those lock and unlock ogg files and the timestamp said "1:35am" Today..which is weird 'cause I wasn't even on my phone.
Last time I looked, it was like 1 when I was doing something on my phone and I noticed this stuff at like 10 til.
Which also leads me to believe I might have a virus, becaaaause my malware application popped up and said it was unsafe..looked at the list of the apps that it said were unsafe and the first one was Root Explorer and like basically every other app I have lmao.
Guess I'll be factory resetting and re-flashing MIUI tonight. B|

Well it always thinks that apps that have root access are malicious. If your on Miui, check out the sounds ui in the themes app, those will overide any system sounds, cuz its a theme.

I went ahead and wiped and reflashed MIUI.
Sounds are back to normal. I uninstalled that malware app 'cause it was stupid anyway.
Loving the Zoe feature in general and it's definitely the One's stand out feature IMHO. However, I think I'm finding a few bugs. I was trying to select the images for the highlight video and, obviously, because Zoe is kinda random I find that I'm often going back and re-selecting different clips.
However, yesterday and today I found that despite not selecting a clip, that clip still showed in the highlight video. The only way I could stop it from happening was to delete it from that particular event folder. This was really frustrating for me. Anyone else have this issue?
Also, with the albums, there doesn't seem to be an easy way of moving images from one folder to another...I don't think it's even possible. Any one got an idiots guide to doing this?
Yup, same issue here with Zoe. It is such a great feature but selecting which items are included doesnt work at all?! :-/
This is fixed in 1.29 base.

How to check which firmware I'm on? I'm coming from iOS so finding stuff out doesn't seem as simple!
EDIT: Found it - I'm on 1.28. How do I update the firmware?
You need to have at least 13 clips, so it will select all if you have less than this. That's why when you start selecting it says 0/13.

Try it with over 13 clips. You will notice that although some arent selected, they are still often included.
I find this quite a pain as I may go to the beach with my dogs and take a load of photos of them, then I'll go out that same evening and watch some live music at a bar and take some more photos. So natually, a zoe video with those mixed together wouldnt make any sense, so I would go in and just select items for the dogs on the beach or just the music at the bar but the other items still apear.
Pehaps you have the later "1.29 base." MacHackz made reference to?
I'll probably be told off for this and accused of not searching first, I have and still can't find an answer.
No matter how many times and what file management app I use I'm being asked what app to open say flac, mp3 etc....
I've got my music app and that's what I want to use, nothing else and that goes for all my other files as well.
Is there a reliable method that my phone and tablet will remember allowing me to dedicate an app to each particular file.
Please don't advise for me to clear defaults as I do this then the next day or after a reboot I'm being asked again.
It's a lovely option being asked but it just goes too far, surely once I choose that should be it, period.
Regards,
tj
ps. If this is a common issue can someone steer me to relevant threads as searching has found me very little information.

I'm no expert in this but i suspect you need to tell each file type what YOU want IT to do and it should remember.
Unless you have conflicts going on.
I uninstall **** if it starts causing problems like this.

You can dubbleclick/tap the app you want as default when the dialog pops up.
That should work, if youre asking what i think youre asking.
Peace.
It seems fragile remebering my choice
Thanks for the replies.
I've always been aware of how to apply a permanent app to open a particular file but it seems pretty fragile. Within weeks I'm being asked again, the phone has always done this since new some 18 months ago.
Just wondered if there was a way to really make my choice permanent. This has all become a bit of a saga for me as recently purchased a Corsair Voyager Air 1TB wifi hard drive.
All my music has been converted to flac and put on this drive, I'm apparently able to select my music playing app in preference to the built in Corsair app but when I try the screen flashes and fails. I know this could be all sorts causing this but thought if I could tell my Note to only use a particular app to open say flac files that would solve the problem.
Or has anyone else got this type of set up that might know of an alternative app that can connect to the drive via it's wifi signal and then open the music playing rather that trying to download.
Or
Could I work with Tasker to correct the problem of not being able to play my music through my preffered app rather than being forced to use the in app player.
tj
I tried over 10 different top Ringtone making apps and they all lag so much that they are unusable on the Nexus 6. I've never had any problem with these apps on any other phone. Does anyone know an app that works? I'm dying for some new ringtones.

I used the old school way. Used this site and then just downloaded them to the phone. http://makeownringtone.com/
I use Ringtone Maker, I have not had a problem with it. What kind of lag are you seeing?
