Hi I see that sound quality in custom roms are degraded a lot. Not sure if anybody else has noticed it. I tried almost all the Kernels and most of the mods like beat, Vodoo etc, but all i see is that in these mods we can change bass treable etc, but quality of sound still remains bad, when i say quality its purely clarity. Sound in Stock rom is very clear, where as in custom roms its not.
Is there anyway we can use the samsung provided sound libraries in custom roms? Also cross platform support will be a issue i guess, as stock rom we have only till 2.3
What headphone are you using? Does it have a mic?
I tested my phone with stock phone there was no differences also my phone was very clear than stock rom cm 10.1 4.2.2
Fishear kernel

You are wrong. Sound is much better with jellybean. Decrease right side of equlaizer. It's better for sgs.

So I have recently bought some 50/50 Skullcandy earphones, they are pretty expensive so I want to get the most out of them. Most everything is functional, the only things that don't work are the volume control and the mic. The volume control is made for Apple products so I'm not that concerned about it. However the mic is not working and I was wondering what I could do. Is there a driver I can install or is it my rom?
I am running MikShift v1.1,
bcnice20's 1.51 kernel
pls help
My skullcandy inked headphones have a mic and they work flawlessly with my setup.

I'm going to try my headphones on one of my friends iphones, you are also running miui. I am running a sense rom I think that has to do with it
No I'm not using Tapatalk... I'm using the XDA Premium app, cause I got balls.
I'm on miui right now, but havnt always been. When I was on stock it worked fine. Never tried mikshift though as aosp is soooo much faster and smoother. Give it a try, you'll never go back.

Miui 1.4.29 make sure and download bcnice's kernel off kernel manager and flash it if you want amazing battery life and a smooth as butter experience.

Hi guys I was wondering if there is any way to make the ear piece louder on i9000 based roms... I am on apex 9.0 right now...thanks

Phone volume is dependent on the kernel. You can only improve that by changing kernel. Not sure about audio or notification volume, but I assume that would also be dependent on the kernel. I know there is a voodoo sound app that affects sound seperate from the kernel, but I'm not an android developer and don't know the relationships. hth.
HeyHey! What's goin' on? Need help! I want to know what is the best music rom to x8. D*mn, I RLY HOPE THAT U DON'T POST THIS TOPIC BULLS*IT! MiniCM9 doesn't go at all.
Nearly everything except the ICS Roms would do the job. Because MiniCM9 and other ICS Roms use more RAM than lower Android version, you experience small lags in the music playback.
I ain't fan of it either, but I'll still keep MiniCM9 as daily Rom for now.

i don't prefer that answer, i need rom where music is louder than default & quality is nice
I definitely don't go for CM9 (based too) roms
I'd say either gingerbread like gingerdx or a froyo cuz it takes less ram etc up.
But of you want it loud. I suggest you conscription it to a speaker, or headphones

Use w8 stock rom, install JIT, and other tweaks for eclair, install poweramp, and enjoy distortion free sound... I have w8 thats why I know stock rom is worth the sound quality...

You need not have another rom....
But you need to have another music player...
Use power amp or ttpod to enhance your music experience..
Press thanks if I helped
use poweramp and the equalizer in it
u can boots ur speaker sound
[ROM] MiniCM7-2.2.0 and [Sound Enchantments]SRS Trumedia for our x8 works best 4 me
What are the differences between Paranoid and PAC?
Also anyone on either have some good tips to get call audio working? its really quiet and no headset mic works. I have fiddled with a bunch of build.prop settings and once had a decent setup but striving for stock sound got it borked again.
TY in advance
Both builds have in call volume problems as far as choosing a decent rom i would choose holics or wcx rom. Both are bug free and very good audio. But if ur itching for pac or paranoid i woild flash the viper audio witch will increase all volumes EXCEPT in call volume sorry. Our devs are working hard as to find a fix for these ongoing problems. Hoped i helped with ur decision.

Helped some, except I am already hooked on Paranoid lol.
It got me away from WCX, actually first one nice enough to get me off sense through 2 phones and a whole lot of flashing. and well I cant find the wcx site anymore but anyways. Viper audio is nice. Bluetooth works pretty good for calls at least.
Well to be honest im havimg flashing issues so i cant try nt new. Im on cm10 and not much of a fan. Its nice looking am thats it. Poor battery life horriable sound low incall need i say more? Lol i cant find any one that can solve my issue not even 3 dev fiends of mine can figure it out . Anyways i havmt tried paranoid but seen screenshots and benchmarks. Pac is ok i geuss but holics and wcx are the most battery efficient, stable, fast ,and for the most part bug free. If u lime paranoid i would stick with that since pac isnt all that

Since the update, I've noticed that the sound is noticeably lower than 4.1. I'm thinking of taking the audio files from 4.1 over to the 4.3 zip and trying that. Before I do, any feedback would be appreciated. I'm trying this as opposed to a 3rd party mod 1. because sense 4.3 is new, and no mod is really out there for it yet and 2. it's HTC code, just from an earlier rom, and wouldn't require updating.
+1 I'm sending my phone in for camera and u told then to check my BoomSound because its not as loud as it was on 4.1.2 and I asked the rep if they turned it down and he got offended by it like oh no we would never do such a thing . I'll laugh my ass off all the way to the next company if you can bring back sound like it was before
Pure x audio just doesn't do it

Old news...the speaker loudness was lowered way before 4.3
Flash the loudness mod if you're rooted

any link for the mod ?
is it applicable over stock rom or a custom rom ?
TY
No, this has to do with extracting firmware files from earlier versions, before HTC reduced the safety levels due to warranty claims. I can do it, but I was looking for some feedback before I get going with it this weekend. I will let you all know how it turns out.

There's Viper4Android if you're rooted, and PureXAudio if you're not, both claim to accomplish making it louder, but there are comments that say "not enough," or that it's buggy, etc. So, I am taking a different approach to it, and pulling everything from HTC's own firmware before they lowered it.
well there are some build.prop edits that will happen
Ipa.decode=true to lpa.decode=false
tunnel.decode=true to tunnel.decode=false
lpa.use-stagefright=true to lpa.use-stagefright=false
try that, it worked for me plus i installed viper4andriod
