Hi, I'm gettin me an HTC One from Rogers here in Canada, and I was wondering if the development that's done over in the Android Development Section is going to all be compatible with this version of the phone? I don't see a separate forum so I assume it will be, but I'm asking just to be safe
Thanks!

You will probably have to change the CCID or the ROMs will not install. That can't be done until S-Off is achieved. (I think it is called CCID - it is the country code inside the firmware, and means you can't flash a ROM not designed for your country). At least this is how the Amaze works, and I think other HTC devices.
So the ROM itself would need to be made for that country's device? Why isn't there a forum for the canadian HTC Ones then yet?

That is my understanding. Until someone achieves S-Off.
As to different Forums, XDA tends to just use different threads for the various services, not forums.
Changing CID is for bootloader unlocking via HTC's website. It's the US phones that need to be changed usually.
Roms don't care what your cid is.
There will be seperate forums if the phone has different hardware under the same name. I am pretty sure the One is the same hardware regardless of carrier and should only have one forum.
Sent from the HOXL dimension of S-OFF

The hardware is the same, so you're saying that the same root methods and ROMs will work for now, until such a time that S-OFF might be achieved?

I don't yet have my One, but for the Amaze this is certainly not true. The ones from outside the US will not flash a Rom based on a US carrier unless the cid is fixed. That is what I'm basing my post upon. Maybe the One will be different, maybe not.

I posted the same question in the TrickDroid ROM thread and the dev said that it should flahs with no problems. Thought I should let you know that's what he thinks.

Well, I hope he is correct, it will be much easier for those outside the country to flash any ROM they want. We will have to see how it goes.

I can't find the thread I saw but there was one over in the general form that said its compatible so long as it does not change the radio. The only variance in these phones is the radio, which is unusual. Most of the time there is another difference that makes roms incompatible.

Then the T-Mobile (and Canada) ROMS would be the issue, since I believe only they have the 1700/1900 radios. They would be specific to that hardware.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong ROMs don't flash radios. So long as this remains true it should not be an issue? Also I herd people have ROMs working on the AT&T variant which is what Canada (or at leas the big 3 plus their sub-brands) get.
Edit: Here is what I found saying that we will be able to flash some of these roms, Earlier in the thread it was said that U and UL roms were interchangeable. I'll be trying it out tomorrow afternoon. I'm buying one outright from Bell here in calgary.

I just bought my HTC One from Rogers but I haven't proceeded with anything yet for the same reasons as above. Coming from a One XL (Rogers One X) I know that I was able to use AT&T roms as well as Rogers & Telus roms with my phone, and use any of the radios from all three of those providers without issue.
Seeing as there are currently three separate forums for the HTC One (M7, Sprint & AT&T), I'm not sure which ones are compatible with which carriers. I hope that some of this gets straightened out in the days to come. Of course if there's anything I can do from my end to help, just tell me what to do ^_^
EDIT: Just followed link in above post, and it seems to have cleared it up for me. I still think that the forums for compatible devices should be merged, like the way the One XL forum is.
so we need to stick to the ATT forums?
or, iirc, we can flash the international ROMs so long as the radio doesnt flash lest we lose LTE
Can any one post a link to where i can download T-mobile US htc one stock rom or unload it? thank you

Ask in the dedicated t-mobile US forum.
Quite why the merkins get a dedicated forum and we in the UK do not is a question which remains unanswered.
Signed, a Limey.
Hi guys,
Is there a way to install International ROM on the T-Mobile HTC One?
I'm having problems with the T-Mobile ROM (which thinks that +97254123456 and 054123456 are different numbers ans show different contacts and thread in messages)
Thanks,
Itay

Please and thank you, everyone!

Click on the link (highlighted text) and read, read and read the first post. If you have any questions, you need to ask them in that thread since they are the most familiar with the procedure. I would also read through the last five pages of the thread to see what issues have arrived. Sorry I can not do any more, I don't have that phone nor have I unlocked a SIM.
In addition, there is a dedicated forum for the Sprint HTC One M7 and those folks there are far more familiar with the nuances of that variant.
