I got me a few mouths ago a lenovo idea pad k1 and will like to get me a new tablet but wonted to type up what I was looking for in a tablet so you guys can help me find one.
A tablet with a full size USB port so I can use flash drives and usb hard drives for it and a HDMI port a 10 inc screen or bigger if there is one. Also with very good android development I'd like it running cm10.1 or cm10. And will like it to have a HD screen and it to be fast.

hmm i guess i am thinking of way ahead, but don't you guys think that T.V. is no longer an Idiot Box?
Isn't it getting smarter?
so what you guys think..
will XDA have separate Sections for TV?
Hmm... no. Seems more like PC territory to me. TV = giant monitor with a useful life of 10+ years, imagine still using your current device in 10 years and you will understand. WiDi has got a bright future IMO.

Cheers, and discuss?

@nikotank Cool, didn't realize this was twitter
If connecting to the pc is your problem, it is almost certainly an issue of drivers on the windows side.

@Groid yeah I didn't know the issue. Tried multiple driver sources to no avail until reading someone's luck with MTP and voila! Like a charm. Strange, indeed.

OT: About time. xD Kinda confused on why you traded your TF700 in for a Nexus 7.. I would do the opposite...

Hey!
We're preparing an image for Ubuntu for Phones and it should be available towards the end of February. You can keep up to date by joining our irc channel #ubuntu-phone on Freenode IRC or by madly pressing F5 on the Ubuntu Wiki page (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuPhone) which is called UbuntuPhone over the next two months
Thanks for the interest!
Edit: Image will be for the Galaxy Nexus, but no doubt you guys will be able to fettle it to work on some other device I'd imagine
Thank you for posting! I'm looking forward to it. I would like to feature this on XDATV ASAP!
Thanks for the encouraging words about the petition! And thanks for keeping us informed!

Nexus and HTC aren't mutually exclusive brands, but yes Canonical said the initial images will be for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I'm sure there will be unofficial ports as well.
Bring it on... lol i am supppper excited...

Looks like my purchase of the Galaxy Nexus last Fall was prophetic to say the least. I'm pretty excited to get the image.
[Q] Can we expect an image for Galaxy SII (GT-I9100) too?
I think the HW spec is not very different
I wish you good luck with your project :good:
(subscribed thread)
Officialy we can expect Galaxy Nexus image next month.
Ubuntu Phone
Oh, man. Can't wait for the port to my Desire HD/Inspire. Dual-booting with that would be simply AMAZING!
Just saw the vid of this, seems very interesting. I cant wait to give it a try
Holy crap I can't wait
I'm getting sick on android and I want something new

I hope it will be easily ported from Nexus to Hd2

ubuntu rom for samsung galaxy ace please!!!
An unlockable bootloader Intel Atom based phone (Motorola RAZR i) would also be a great project. I noticed in the information it says that Intel Atoms can run the higher-end Ubuntu Phone OS. I am imagining the possibilities here of x86 Ubuntu Phone

IFK if the idea of an x86 phone would be good. It is just an inefficient design compared to Arm IMO.

Hey guys I would like for someone, expecially a developer preferably of our device to give me the name of the device or devices closest in similarity to ours for developmental reasons. I think but I'm not positive that the desire HD is pretty close. I know or I think lol that we've had a couple ports from that device. Does anyone know any device closer?

There are no stickies or topics in the link you provided. Does the device have a developmental thread here on xda?

I think Galaxy S is not most similar device .....
HTC desire HD was selected for porting because it has same System on Chip i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8255 .....
So, all devices which are built on MSM 8255, they are much closer to our device ....
Check this :

Not really a Ubuntu or convergence fan. I would personally just purchase a powerful notebook for the price of an Edge, or buy a cheap notebook & turn that into Ubuntu, but to each their own.

the point is not to have to carry two devices with you at all times, in order to have a full mobile OS and desktop OS. This enables you to have a mobile OS when traveling, and a desktop OS when you get home, to work, what-have-you
