[Q] Some questions about rooting the devise. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm thinking to root my device. I have never rooted any devise before so I don't have that experience of rooting the HTC one .
What Apps will I lose if I get my devise rooted ?
will I receive software updates from HTC if I root the devise ? what about the devise warranty ?

You would lose everythingon your Dr card. You won't get updates from HTC and yes, your warranty would be void.

I'm sorry but I thought you would only not get updates if you flash custom ROM and not root.

You could but you would need to replace CWM recovery with the standard HTC recovery first before you attempted to download and run an OTA update.
The best advice I could give you is wait for the update to come out and then update using a fully rooted version of it so you won't lose root. With almost all of the newest GB updates that HTC has been providing for their different models, they are fixing all known root exploits and applying an OTA will cause you to lose root without a way of getting it back easily.
Thanks alot!!!!

You're surely better off to avoid ota updates and just install custom ROMs, you should be able to get
a close to stock one

Questions :

1. By rooting my HTC Desire C and using it with the stock room (not with the nameless rom) could i be able to Update if htc sends a new software update like jelly bean.
2. Is there any method how to unroot if i have warranty purposes ?
Thx a lot.

You can still receive updates while your rooted but you may have to reroot afterwards and I don't think there will be a jellybean update for this phone probably just be a few software updates.
Also if you used the superboot r1 method of rooting you can easily do a full unroot from the options in supersu if you need to send your phone off for any reason. I did this recently when I sent mine off for repair.

This roots are only permanent roots. You can install updates, but than when I tryed my root was deleted and I needed to root it again and now I'm using nameless rom. So you should try just to download software updates and install them and then reboot your phone and check if you got root with Rootchecker and SuperSU.
Well now im confused a bit, i think its imposible to root desire c if bootloader is locked ... :/
Mby.im sounding dumb but im noob

Yes you need unlocked bootloader to root but what I ment was you can relock it if you need to send your phone off

Hard Touch and Lagginess
Hey .. Desire C's touch is a bit harder than Explorer's .. Has anyone noticed that ... ??
And I have observed lagg in playing games and a long delay in opening application specially message app, people app and when I press the back button , it takes 3 seconds to go to the previous screen .. Please can anyone help me out ,,, ?
The lag is probably due to sense 4 as it is pretty ram intensive .
But you can try ram managing scripts like supercharger v6. or try swapping ( install the overclocked kernel before you swap )
Over-clocked Kernel
Hey, I just had a question regarding the over-clocked kernel for the desire c. I'm already flashing the latest and last nameless rom and was thinking about trying out the explosion, but I was just wondering if anyone had any insight regrading the over clocking-- I read on the nameless thread that there were some issues with it?

[q] M7 unlocked and rooted ota update possible?

I unlocked and rooted my Sprint HTC One and it is running great. I used All-In-One and made sure I used the Sprint versions of All-In-One and SuperSU. My concern is will I still receive OTA update from HTC or will someone post updates on this website so I can download them?
Stock. Relockthe bootloader
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Usually someone posts the update and if ur in a custom Rom the developers update their Rom according to the update. I would avoid any ota updates as some end up removing root

Ok I guess I wont worry about OTA updates then - I like the Sense rom on the M7 - its like the best rom I've ever used.

HTC One with stock Android. What about the already shipped models?

Hey guys,
Could anyone elaborate regarding the users that have already purchased the HTC One, after the 'Google' edition with stock android gets released soon -- will we be able to flash it without voiding our warranty?
What do you reckon will be our options?
I'm betting you will need to unlock bootloader to flash
