[X] You want k-9 mail
Thanks to htcclay's glorious SuperBad I am enjoying Eclair godness.
One thing I was wondering is, how can you choose the account which is used to send an email with the email app (not the GMail app!).
I have successfully set up an exchange email account and a private email account (imap) and do recieve emails (including push emails). The combined email inbox is great, too.
But if you use something like the 3d gallery app and want to share a photo, you can select email as the sharing option, compose the email BUT there is no option to choose from which email account to actually send the mail...? What am I missing here, tipps & hints welcomed ;-)
My email ( default email app, not gmail app ) wont sync automatically, I don't have a task killer, doing some research I am starting to think its because I don't have a universal inbox app.
I am not sure if I deleted it or if my ROM ( Phoenix ) came without it.. Is it why my email app wont sync automatically ? if so, can I get a universal inbox app from someone please
what is your email account which is not sync?

All of them! 3 gmail accounts, and 1 hotmail account.
I don't use gmail app, I just want one program for mail, so I have been using the default app, which I believe is a samsung app. I removed gmail, and I may have removed unified inbox thinking its for facebook and stuff I don't use. I am not sure this is the cause but my accounts using the email app wont sync automatically, I have to manually tell them to refresh.
If its just that missing unified inbox app maybe I can get it off someone, but I don't know.
Can someone shed some light on this?

you can use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync to get hotmail's email, so it will push the email to your phone.
Well I need 1 client for everything ... something is wrong. The default mail app used to work at some point, I just want to know why its not syncing mail every 15 minutes like its set to.
Is the default mail app ment to work with universal inbox? I thought mail was an android app and universal inbox is a samsung app, so I doubt it, but why wont it sync?
Sent from using XDA App
I have an email that has a calendar file attachment, extension .ice. When I open this under Gmail, it say "No app can open this attachment for viewing". I get similar result if I use CM9 mail client.
If I open the same email using LG email client, or save the file on the sdcard and open it using the file manager, Business Calendar Free successfully launch and import the data.
May I know is there any setting in Gmail that I can trigger such that Business Calendar Free is launched when I select the attached file?
Since I am on this topic, do you have any solution to read Outlook calendar to the phone? With Google not longer support sync, I am in a fix how can I sync my Outlook calendar to my phone. I just need one-way sync from outlook to phone.
Thanks in advance!
Anyone? Please? Or it is that I failed to explain the issue clearly?
I hope this is the correct place to ask this. When I set up my AOL email in the now combined Gmail app I can check my mail without any problem but links in the email aren't working. They just show up as text. Any help would be appreciated.
Glad I'm not the only one who can't get it to work.
I think it is a generic problem with how gmail app reads non gmail emails, especially when sent on plain text, I get it when I read the XDA emails, which are sent to my imap account that I read in the gmail app
I forgot about this... I went to K9 mail and it seems to work well. Might be with a look.
True - I try lots of others, but keep going back to K9 - I don't want much in an email package - NON-threading, Alias support - ideally picking the ones up I have set up in gmail and IMAP support - and K9 does it.
