Hey there,
First of all, a big thanks to pawitp and the other developers for the great ROMs,
my cell (SGS i9000, currently running pawitps nightly 10.1-20130423)
has never been faster, better or more beautiful.
Unfortunately, there is a little drawback:
I have missed several calls, since the phone won't make a sound while being called.
This is the case in over 90% of calls. With SMS notifications, this percentage rises to 100%.
The messenger notifications seem to work almost in every case.
Thanks to the site search, I'm aware of the issues with USB-connections, setting the ringtone
to "unknown", as I have experienced also.
I "fixed" the problem manually by choosing the ringtone (and notification sound) again,
sadly without any observable change for the better.
So, I upgraded the firmware, re-flashed it several times (by Odin and CWM), did wipe (dalvik) cache and tried a different file format for the ringtones. A friend of mine is running the exact same system, but has not experienced the mentioned issue apart from one week or so; and after installation of the newest nightly, his troubles were gone.
As I really like this ROM, I would favor not to switch my beloved firmware.
So, any of you guys has any suggestions how to get rid of that annoying problem?
As already mentioned, I love my SGS with CM, but a cellphone which doesn't ring seems a bit castrated to me^^
Of course I'm more than willing to give more information if needed.

Hello there,
So, I installed JPM, Root and CFLagfix with Autokiller. Everything works to my liking, and is snappy enough for me until Voodoo comes out.
But here is my prolem, and since this is a phone, it is a big problem.
I can make calls out no problem with great reception, and great call quality. But as soon as my phone recives a call, it vibrates once, and then I see a forced close, and I guess the dialer is crashing. The caller just gets one ring tone, and then they get hung up on as well. I get a notification that the network is gone, but about 1 second after I look at the notification, I get full bars again. It happens the same way every time.
Any ideas?
Edit:
I found the solution.
What I did was upgrade to Froyo, and then apply ALL my settings from Titanium back-up from my 2.1 ECLAIR back-up. I even applied system settings...and that is where the big mistake was. The two system settings aren't compatible.
So I actually went back to Android 2.1, and then used Kies to upgrade to Froyo. And I left the settings alone (and only imported apps from titanium), and everything works perfectly.
And I am digging this Froyo (with CFRoot and CF Lagfix)...it is as good as My 2.1 rooted and lagfixed, with some extra features.
Had (sometimes still have) almost the same problem, mostly on JPK. Since i flashed to JP6 its better.
Sometimes when i make or receive calls the phone apk crashes and the phone turns offline mode on by itself.
Dont know why.
I'm also experiencing this problem. Did you guys restore backups before it occured? I think it might has something to do with some theme that may not be supported in Froyo?
Really looking for an answer, cause this sucks!
Earlier this year I was using CM 10.1 and everything was great.
Then, one day, the latest nightly introduced the following issue: During audio playback, the volume will suddenly drop to a very low level, then after a second or two, return to the proper level. This will happen approximately 5-10 times per minute of playback.
At the time, I saw no way to fix it, so I switched to a Sense-based rom.
Months passed, and I returned to CM 10.1 a week ago and learned that the problem still exists, months later. Yesterday I tried the Carbon rom and it also has the issue, so I assume it's with all AOSP based roms. I've been searching the threads and have not found much on this bug. Almost all posts with "audio" or "volume" and "bug" are about issue with bluetooth audio, or losing audio after a call.
But I do see the rare post from someone else with the same complaint, so I know it's not something affecting just me.
I'm wondering if anyone can help me fix this issue. I very much prefer the AOSP-based roms over sense, but because of this one tiny thing, they are basically unusable for me.
Any help would be appreciated.
possible solution
This is not guaranteed to work, but I've gotten it to on slim bean rom and one other 4.2 based rom. Mind you, this was on a different device, but the coding is very likely the same. I used solid explorer from the market to edit the xml once the rom was installed. just grant su access. go to system>etc>media_profile.xml and every place that you see <audio codec, change it from "aac" to "amrwb" there are a lot of them, just double check and make sure you got them all and input correctly. I hope it works man, I can't get it to on Carbon but it works on slim-based roms. I must remind you, this has worked on my device for the specified roms and I am not responsible for anything that happens to yours. If it fails, simply edit the xml back to "amrwb" instead of "aac" and you'll be back where you started, no harm done. Don't forget to save your changes in solid explorer. Good luck.
Hello everybody,
I have been waiting a bit until posting this issue to see if future nightly builds of Cyanogenmod solved the problem but to no avail, I already posted on their forums but so far no one has been able to figure out the problem... not that they tried.
I'm using an international Galaxy note (n7000) and these issues have been popping up since last month.
The main problem comes up when using the android keyboard and listening to music at the same time, the phone just seem to struggle a lot, music begins to stutter and usually the phone just becomes unresponsive and I have to force reboot the whole thing. A pain in the neck. Lately the phone just hangs whenever it feels like it and I have to reboot it, it usually happens twice a day.
Sometimes you're able to come back to normal after a few minutes but rarely.
The problem was even worse while using SwiftKey, now I'm back to just using the normal android keyboard but still the issue pops up almost every day. I already did a wipe data/factory reset, no avail.
Any thoughts on this?
Thank you in advance.
Post a log. Which ROM where you on before flashing CM.
sounds like a memory leak, try newer versions or trace down the issue. Check which apps consume most and cpu when it occurs.
Check as previous poster said logfiles

CM 10.1.3-N7000 bluetooth issues
Hello,
I'm using CM 10.1.3-N7000 and I really love it, but I'm forced to use another ROM, just because of the carkit compatibility via bluetooth. The sound is extremely bad.
Does anyone know if it's fixed in later versions or earlier versions?
Are there other ROM's, ot based on CM without the bluetooth problem?
I'm really searching since two days now to find a bluetoothfix, but can't find it.
Pairing and so on is no problem at all, it's just the soundquality that is terrible. (it was not the case with my stockROM)
thank you for giving me some advice!
I switched to Omnirom and I think the problem has been solved now.
If I see that the same problem is back as it was with CM, I will come back to that.
Q&A for [KK 4.4.4][ROM]Mackay ROM 4.9.13 (11-Oct-2014)

Thankyou kasper,
I have update without problem.
Work like a charm.
Battery Life
I just installed this ROM, and previously I had the CM11 that was too slow for me. It's not incredibly fast on my I9000 but works fine, the only problem is the battery lifespan that compared to the original gingerbread 2.3.6 it's really less (10 hours almost)
Hi Kasper
I was wondering if there is going to be an update soon as the m12 has just rolled out with security fixes
Thanks for all your hard work

Profile & sound settings
Hello,
First of all, I wish to thank you, karsper_h. Your 4.9.14 ROM has given a real rebirth to my old SGS.
Unfortunately, I encounter a small problem with your rom: I am using the profile feature of CM to automatically switch setting (wifi, sounds, etc...) depending on where I am (or should I say when I am, since this is time based).
In settings/sound, I can change the ring volume all right.
However, The setting which is recorded in the profile does not get applied.
Assume the ring volume is set to the maximum. Then I have a profile called "work", where the ring volume is set to a low value.
Switching to the "work" profile does not modify the ring volume.
This was working on CM10 & CM11.
For the record, my phone went from stock 2.3.6 (factory reset) to CM10.1.3 to CM11-M12 to MacKay 4.9.14. I did not wipe the phone when going from CM12 to MacKay, considering the two roms are exactely at the same verion level.
I do not have experienced other problem: this rom is actualy fast and stable.
Is someone else experiencing this problem ?

battery duration
How long is the battery duration with the i9000 whit this ROM (MACKAY 4) ?

It heavily depends on your usage of the phone.
If I leave my I9000 alone, with wifi and data off, the battery consumption can get below 1%/hour.
In my normal usage, it's about 2%/hour on average, giving easily more than one day of autonomy.
If your battery doesn't last that long, then something is preventing your phone to go into deepsleep state when idle.
To find out what is causing this, I suggest you install the application BetterBatteryStats, available on f-droid (no ads) and the playstore (with ads).
Hope this will help you.
Problem with Google Apps

I have no any problem since I start use it on cm-Mackay_ROM_4.9.14. On the new ...999 also works flawlessly.
Hello Kasper
First thankyou for this awesome rom,
I have a question for overclock,
I go to performace and to CPU frequency i select 1200MHz, but after usin phone with overclock restart automatically.
Can anyone tell me what is problem??
Your phone is designed to work at 1GHz frequency, perhaps 1.2GHz is too taxing for your phone.
Errors over and over!!!
any Crash Error that you can think about appear in my phone since yesterday! i was using this rom for months but these problems started annoying me from yesterday! it even doesn't let me check my sms messages and answer them! or even can't use dialer! etc.!

Unfortunately, process com.google.process.gapps has stopped!
Unfortunately, Trebuchet has stopped!
and ...
the errors show after another over and over! specially when i connect to internet(turning wifi on)
Even sometimes desktop does'nt load!! :| :| :|

* I don't want to lose any data and applications, sms, etc!
Problem with touch-input
Special thanks for the creator of this ROM for his efforts.
I have a question concerning a bug I am experiencing. Often I am not able to make any touch-command on the right wing of the screen, about 1cm, this is especially annoying when it happens during typing. I experienced the same bug on CM11, but not on the original firmware, I believe. The occurence is not bound to any special app, it even happens on the Home screen.
Is this a known bug and is anyone experiencing the same? Any suggestions what causes this?
Sometimes after rebooting i dont seem to be able to get my SIM card recognized and so have no mobile network.
does anybody else have this?
I think that this rom is the best of the best and i think the best rom must have the best splash screen so i prefer to change the splash screen
Hey i think you must re-install the rom and i think it will work

Hi Kasper,

I am very happy that you are working on a ROM based on LP
Hello experts,
Since Oreo was pushed to my S7 Edge through OTA, it has been nothing but trouble. My phone is extremely sluggish and unresponsive, to the point that when I get a call, the phone rings but doesn't come on so I cant answer the phone. I have wiped out cache multiple times and even factory reset it couple of times and the phone is still very slow. I have been reading here trying to find a solution, but have not been very successful.
The Baseband Version on my phone is "G935AUCS8CRK1". From reading all the threads here, it looks like I am on BB8 and stuck and wont be able to upgrade or downgrade. But still I thought I post the question here and one of you experts can confirm and/or suggest a solution for the problem I am experiencing.
If it is not possible to flash any rom once on BB8, is there anything I can do to improve the performance of my S7 edge after Oreo upgrade? As mentioned above, I have wiped and cache and done a factory reset multiple times with no luck. Am I the only one experiencing the lag/sluggishness?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and support!
I have had occasional slowdowns on Oreo, but nothing like what you are describing. There is a bit of lag when an incoming call comes in that wasn't there before, and I often see a purple screen for a second before it pulls up the contact info, but it is ringing as this happens. I have never had an issue answering a call, etc. I am CRK2, though, not CRK1. Overall, the lack of keyboard lag, which made me despise Nougat on this phone, makes up for the occasional lag elsewhere.
Unfortunately, you can't downgrade the bootloader/baseband, so you can only run software builds that are based on that version - all of which, I believe, are Oreo builds now.
Mine is running very well, very improved. The only problem that I have is the battery drain, I can hardly reach 4 hours of screen on time on battery, but the normal average is 3, 3.5 hours of screen on time. So sad that actually is not a way to downgrade to B8
