I had to format card

SD Card issues.

I recently purchased a PNY 8GB SD card for my Moto G. All was well until yesterday when my phone decided it didn't want to recognize the SD card anymore. I tried a factory reset, but no luck. Any solutions? And yes, I am on Lollipop.

Did you try connecting the SD Card to the PC using a card reader? I mean did you try formatting the SD Card again from your PC and then using it on your phone?

I thing your card is damage try using it in PC.

My computer isn't allowing me to format the card.

Which probably means your SD card is damaged/dead. Get a replacement if warranty is still available.

At this point you have 3 options:
Use the phone without an SD Card.
OR
Buy another well known SD Card like SanDisk or Samsung and make sure it is not a fake chinese SD Card and use it.
OR
Sell the phone and buy another phone of your choice.

Memory problem

I just got a stock virgin mobile HTC desire 510 less then a week ago and the memory is full!! I can no longer install apps (i put a few on but did not fill up the phone)
I checked under the storage menu and the other memory is maxed out at 2.5 gigs!!
what is this and how can i clear it?

You need to buy an SD card for more space.

I switched the storage over to the SD card and it seems to be working now!! thanks

What exactly do you mean? The actual app installing on the SD Card?

Primary storage?

I recently bought hot 2 and I noticed that it uses external SD card as primary storage, how to set it back to use internal storage?
There is no option in settings!

Idk. It says on mine primary and external storage are the same. Can someone please provide a short post on this? Can link2sd, e.g., be used without root?

Here are screen shots to elaborate what I'm talking about.
The phone uses SD card as default writing storage by its own and I do not have option to select the default storage!

I think that is one of the little faults the phone has. With this November update, some apps cannot work without SD Card

is there any working solution to this problem?

You will have to buy and use external SD card until they push system update to fix it.

Me too, I had the external SD card as default storage. And as I am replying this message, my internal storage is default. I don't know how. But what I do know is I got a fake SD Card and inserted in my phone. After I booted, internal became default storage and everything is working well, without an External SD card.

An SD Card that isn't original. Maybe a 16GB SD Card that shows total storage as 15.3GB instead of 14.6GB

where to buy this fake sd card?
Mine also show sd card as primary. All Apps are still installed on internal though.
The latest update yesterday also still didn't solved this issue

Format the phone then restart with SD inside.

The real storage depends with manufacturer.

A fake SD would show a movie is 100gb but your SD is 16gb. Or a song is 3gb. Or a word document showing 5gb on a 1gb SD card.
If you play music it cuts.

External SD Card name

Hi all, recently I changed my SD card format from Fat32 to exFat. After that I saw that the "name" appears now with numbers like the SS I've attached
Can I rename that to something just like "SD Card"???
