correction its *#*#*4636#*#*
mine shows the same, li-ion, battery health is good. anyone have battery health excellent or a ratting better than good?

It's LiPo, but for what it's worth, you'd never be able to tell the difference.

Lithium Polymer battery is a subtype of Lithium-ion battery

Li po is just a short name. The full one is li-ion polymer. its still using lithium ion its just the replaced the negative part with polymer

From what I have read li-po has higher duty-cycle than li-ion battery.

One of the big advantages of Li-Po is that it can be shaped easily and still work. So it is better for phones like the One, with its thin profile. Li-Ion needs to be of a more conventional shape (or so I've read).

If you have nothing to say to contribute to a thread then no need to post. I don't think saying "Lol" to revive a 15 months old thread was necessary. There is already so much thread here, no need to revive old ones with useless comments.
Thanks.

DamageControl battery recalibration?

I read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6399061&postcount=3546
It says that you should get 100%, then turn it off and wait until it is green. After this, wipe the battery stats or use the adb command. Then, let the battery die after normal use, and after recharge..
My question is, can anyone recommend some battery killing apps that will do the job?
Thanks in advance!

That public embarrassment was not necessary. *sarcasm*
Yeah, but isn't using an application considered normal?
sorry, anyway, I used pandora overnight that worked pretty well. with pandora you can lock the screen on also that helps out.
I could be wrong but I thought that the way Lithium batteries worked makes this kind of calibration useless??

This dueling argument will go on for centuries. I wish a battery manufacturer would step up and release some white pages to say one way or another.
I don't think it is so much calibrating the battery, but calibrating the phone to the high and low points of the battery. Older battery types required conditioning, not calibrating.

Bingo! Having three batteries (2 after-market TouchPro 2 and the OEM), I even have a performance difference between the two types. I've since set the OEM battery on a shelf and only use the TP2 batteries, as they are identical. I haven't had a battery issue since calibrating using one of them.

I can suggest using setcpu profiles to reduce battery use. If you will make at least one profile to reduce cpu when screen is off, battery life will be much longer.

hehe try set cpu app and make a profile for certain time like for after 12 and before ur wake up time or something like that and set cpu usage of both minimum and maximum to the lowest possible state like 122 mhz as u dont use phone in night there is no need of excess processing speed
try this will notice a huge improvment in battery , also note that Rooting is required
also see the attachments and make sure u click on enable profile... it will surly help u out with problem of battery drainage

Charge completely and get a log using BetterBatteryStats. This will tell you, and us, what apps are eating your battery. If you can, take a screenshot of the Battery section in the settings too, with a screenshot of the details of the screen item in there too.
Have you tried changing ROMs? Or maybe it's time for you to get a new battery

Just bought one "original samsung", it;s worser than my old one, heating and low capacity.
FYI - picked this up about 2 months ago, and it's been working just as well as my original battery. The charger is really cheaply made, though!

- remove EVERYTHING you don't need, in particular weather, any kind of counter and battery apps can be battery hungry
- reduce the numbers of screens
- greenify self installed apps
- don't keep on removing and installing things
- don't use widgets, in particular those that needs to be constantly updated
- decrease screen brightness or use an auto-brightness app (factory auto-brightness doesn't provide a good range)
- use white themes and reduce the screen brightness another 10 - 20 %
- regular battery charging level somewhat above 90 %
- only occasionally to a 100% and then allow it to deplete completely
I think that last thing is exactly the oposite what you should do: AFAIK the battery should be as full as it gets and charging it as often as you can is a must! The manual states never to completelly deplete and so does every thing i read about li-ion. The battery itself will last longer if it's protected from heat etc

Absolutely true, modern batteries like being constantly charged and being full, they don't like being empty. The advice from peter-k is for old fashioned batteries which needed "Conditioning" to avoid "Battery memory"
New batteries avoid that avoid that problem but don't like being empty
Noted with thanks!
Thank you for the advice. Up until now I have been waiting until my battery drain to 1% before charging...

I checked for more accurate info and found Lithium Polymers like to be charged to a 100 %, and be depleted to about 2 - 3 %. They don't like to be totally emptied, as what you said.

[TUT] Extending Battery Life

So our phone has a lithium Ion battery right? Well heres some things most people do not know about this type of battery.
Sorry if this has been posted before!
Li-ion batteries begin to degrade as soon as they start to be used.
One cycle is based on a 100% depth of discharge (e.g. discharging from full to empty), the potential number of charges can be increased by not allowing the battery to become fully discharged before topping it up. For example, allowing a fully charged battery rated at 500 cycles to drop to 50% before recharging could potentially triple the number of charge/discharge cycles to 1500 before the battery capacity degrades, thus increasing the batteries overall lifespan. However, this also means the battery will need to be plugged in more regularly.
This means that keeping the phone topped up, and not waiting for full discharges will potentially extend the battery life of the phone.
In no way am i saying this a definite thing, as i do not know, and this wont extend your screen on time if that's what your after, it will offer you the same amount of screen on time, for an extended period of time.
So to conclude, charging little and often can extend the life of your battery. In theory anyways. I read up on this from a few articles and websites, too many to reference, but this is the combined knowledge i found.
There are still a lot of people who thinks that you must discharge to empty.
This was required when NiCd batteries were in use. Li-Ion are different.
Thanks for posting that! :highfive:

best battery saving strategy:
1) turn off wifi and 3g
2) put down your phone and pick up a book to read
3) dont touch you phone, use the landline to make call and laptop for messaging
right, speady?
Just kidding, WiFi and 3G are actually your battery killer. I'm currently using CM11 and can have 3 hours light gaming (Plague Inc.) with 700MHz CPU and 200MHz GPU settings. Another tip is dont use background process (such as news, email or even swiftkey; Google location accessing as well), they do wake your phone up regularly to sense if you have connection with the Internet Lord.
