You ddint try everything if you cant pass through it. Use the XDA search button or check the stickies in the General Forum or in the development check on how to Unbrick x8. Works everytime

similar problem
I have the same problem ! sorry if I am spamming your request, but I think that's better than to make another n00b thread .
so in my case, I installed a wrong ROM (there was two variants), tested softwares like flashtool without any real result. I only need to restore my lovely phone with the default ROM, then I can flash it again, thanks.
edit: didn't read the previous post (was writing). so it should be the same thing for me cause I am really null in those stuff.
Download flash tool and X8 ftf file then search for steps on what to do. Or use pc companion

if u want go back to 2.1 eclair just download the FTF file from my signature down there!
this is one of the way to unbrick the phone
- copy paste the ftf file to flashtool/firmware
- choose flashmode on flashtool
- turn off x8 , plug it with hold back button
- waallaahhh! Done
as I already said, I used flashtool but without the original ROM (I am noob). but now it's working finelly. how ?
after installing flashtool, it was asking for drivers, even if they are already installed. so I installed all the drivers, for all the available phones .
retryting again and again, same problem. drivers are missed.
but I don't know how, it worked in the last attempt, and my phone is flashed with the original ROM.
thanks a lot :good: !

Heya guys,
Today after rooting my phone, i dled a ROM and i flashed it.
After i flashed it i rebooted it, and now its stuck at the bootscreen with Sony Ericsson. I cant open xRecovery, and i cant do anything. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it ?
Get Flashtool and the Stock ROM FTF and flash back to Stock.
Root, inject xRecovery, or use X8Toolbox for DualRecovery, and try again.
Since this question comes up almost daily simply search this forum, the procedure has now been outlined for infinite+1 times.

No problem, glad the stuff I collected over time now comes in handy after MultiUpload bit the dust (though enough valuable stuff has been lost).
Hi everybody, this is my first post here, I am very happy to be here, joining in this community.
When I tried to update the busybox binary to the latest version 1.19X (FroyoPro 2.5) I hard bricked my phone.
The Rom loads up but after that my phone doesn't work (an endless number of error messages appears).
I cannot even start the phone in ClockworkMod or Xrecovery.
I tried to recover my phone using SEUS and FlashTool but (If I didn't do anything wrong) it still doesn't work.
Now I don't know what to do. The phone is still under warranty but it is going to expire shortly, if I ask them to fix my phone, they surely won't accept my SE because it's clear I rooted it.
Can you suggest me any solutions - a good solution would also be to make it dead - maybe with a strong power supply...
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I'll try this. If it works (I hope so), I'll let you know.
Hi. It's my first time here to post too. Same thing happened to my w8. Installed busybox 1.19.3 (wanted to try supercharger), but when I rebooted I got stuck in the SE logo. Seus seems to not work anymore. Have you tried PCC? I simply flashed back to stock rom using flashtool myself. Try double checking. First time i tried i didn't install the drivers from flashtool's folder.

I think the first time I used FlashTool I didn't install the drivers. :banghead:
Today I'll try this way.
It worked, the first time I didn't install the drivers before using FlashTool.
Thank you very much.
Eeem, just reflash it with seus or if u can unlock bootloader then do that and flash custom kernel cuz custom kernels have cwm recovery built in what means u can flash many many fine roms. Hit thanx if i helped.
glad that worked.
are you still gonna update busybox? if you are pls let me know how you did it successfully without bricking! thank!

Use custom kernels for your device.
Hello Everyone,
Before proceeding, I have searched my problem, but I couldnt find an answer to it.
I am basically running GingerDX v26 on Stock Kernel, and whenever i try to install (flash) via CWM, it doesnt intalls,
I came to know about this, when I was trying to flash Sound Module by CKKnot, I didnt got the installation files in my respective directories. Furthermore, i tried flashing ICSified settings, but nothing happened.
Am I doing something wrong, or there is bug??
Please report me, and I will be really grateful to you guyzz!!!

What error do you get ? Try flashing another ROM. Does the ROM flash ? I had problems flashing ICS-ified settings on my GDx v27 (I finally did it)
So probably , we shared the same problem...
Or just use X8 Toolbox to re-install recoveries.

hello !!
please try this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507021 :good:
everythings work i test it it's owesome:good:
@Mayank77, the roms flash ONLY when i full wipe...:crying:
and this is the reason y i cannot flash some of the flashable zip files.,
PS, it completely shows me everything as normal script, but later when I locate the directory using root explorer, I dont have the files.
I noticed this when I was flashing CKKnots sound module, it related that "delete the files from soundfx folder" later when i flashed nothing was installed!! it was clean. rebooted multiple times but no chance, again i flashed, nothing happened.

You should've told the OP about the kernel requirements before suggesting him that and thus leading him to a soft brick.
I am almost sure he is on stock kernel.
and that ROM is NOT for stock kernel.

As you followed a guide that just ripped DooMLoRD's work from XDA, you most probably flashed the wrong kernel for your firmware, which is the cause of your problem.
Get the correct kernel from here, which is the source of the guide and files that website is using.
thanks for reply plz stick with me for a sec plz

Hello, I'm trying to update a Sony Xperia Z (from the phone's menu), but for some reason, the updates don't work, as if they were blocked. From what I've been told, someone tried to root the phone using some random tutorial on the internet, ended up in a bootloop (at the SONY logo), then flashed an official rom (4.1.2 IIRC) via flashtools or a similar software to solve the bootloop. I've checked the bootloader status dialing [*#*#7378423#*#*], and it's still locked .
I don't want to risk bricking it since it's not mine, but the person who owns it really wants to be able to update it normally via the phone (very casual user, no flashing knowledge or anything), so I would be happy if someone could help me ! So, teach me Masters, what should I do ? Thanks in advance !
P.S. : if there's already a post/tutorial about that, I'm sorry but didn't find it =)

As far as I know OTA doesn't work with unlocked bootloader (correct me, If I'm wrong).
Sony PC Companion won't work either, because your friend/you had unlocked your bootloader.
You can relock it, but it won't work either way, if you don't have TA-Backup with your DRM keys, I think

Hello, and thanks for your answer ! I just talked with the person who tried to modify the phone, and actually, he didn't install a custom rom, he just tried to root the phone following some random tutorial, then ended up in a bootloop. He doesn't know if he unlocked the bootloader or not, but to solve the bootloop, he flashed an official rom via his pc (flashtools or something similar), as I said in the previous post... does that change anything ? Anyway, I'm gonna edit the OP to make things more clear.
EDIT : just checked the bootloader status by typing [*#*#7378423#*#*] in the dialer, it's NOT unlocked. =)

Well, that explains everything.
Firstly, you've to download Flashtool (I suggest you to read carefully the information provided in the link) and install its drivers. If you've already done it, you can proceed futher.
♦ I suggest you to go straight to the newest version (4.4.4) Generic. Here is .FTF file, which needs to be put in flashtool /firmware(s) folder (your friend should know it): Generic 4.4.4 FTF HERE
Before start, make sure you know what are you doing and it is only your responsibility.
By flashing .ftf you won't brick your device unless you'll try to flash custom kernel on locked bootloader or something like this.
If you need a tutorial which describes how to flash .ftf, then quote this message and I'll try sort this thing out with you

Awesome ! Yes, indeed, if you could tell me how to do it or link me to a tutorial, that would be very appreciated ! I already have flashtools installed, but don't know the commands, or the right steps to flash something without using a recovery. Anyway, thanks for your time ^^
EDIT : I forgot to indicate that I'm running flashtools on linux, so no interface, everything has to be done with commands lines... so the tutorial in the link in your previous post can't be used with my os, I think !
