As MIUI is somwhat stable and CM is stable it would be about time for some developer to port this Ubuntu Touch to our device.
I would even share some beers for this issue if this speedens up the process.
Please devs - give it a try! I dont think we need the 23rd themed AOPK or another parallel CM Version. Ubuntu Touch for our phone would be really an innovation such as the PAC Man or MIUI

As I recall diegoch bro told to build/port the cm10.2 or Ubuntu touch for our phone as soon as cm10.1 would be stable enough. As the cm 10.2 is being build by shaaan bro, maybe diegoch bro would go for Ubuntu touch. So just be patient and support them .

MIUI is now open-sourced...

Hello,
So.. Yeah! MIUI is now open-source. The TeamCooper already has an Alpha released on their FB page. All the news about MIUI opensource : http://androidcommunity.com/chinese-oem-xiaomi-publishes-miui-open-source-code-20120203/ .
Have a nice day!
Now only if some dev starts working on a port for mini
I like MIUI's simplicity. If we get a port I won't be upgrading my phone anytime soon lol!
Nice news Hope someone will make a MIUI for Galaxy Mini
this is good news. hope other developers will make one for our MINI.
too much for cm7 hahahahaha MUI FTW!!!!!!!!

Wow... How supportive you guys are.... Still this is fun no matter what you say.... I still research myself. And so you know probably in two days i'm gonna release a guide how to run debian + lxde on our mini without losing android . And btw - most of the guys release just news too.... But you don't say anything to them... Either way what you said got on my mind and i will keep that. But it won't change something major in me
So will be avaible a MIUI rom for our device ?

Someone correct me,
as said here (in 2nd post) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478558&highlight=miui
They just tell u how to port it and it's not the complete source code.
They threw in the source for a few apps...that's all.
Because MIUI is based on CM, we just take CM9, integrate MIUI source (apps, framework) in CM9 source and compile.

Correct.
Miui guys just took CM and modified it and kept it as closed source for quite a time.
But I think first we needa have stable CM9.

Will our Galaxy Mini's/Pop's get Jelly Bean?

Hello everybody. I want to ask our developers, will we get Android 4.1? If not - why, if yes - when? Thanks for answers .
I m not a developer but i can say we can only get jb frm cm sources
Otherwise it is difficult to port aosp build
If sir maclaw and team successfully make working aosp ics for armv6 we can probabily get jb too

It is hard to get a stable ics as of now it is goin to take minimum 6 to 7 seven months before a bugfree ics and then only we can look forward to jb we muat have patience.

Well, when the sources are out, we'll see about that
Patience is a virtue moreover there isn't much difference in user looks
Just a few add ons here and there moreover I doubt about how will this device go on with jb.But anyways well see that expect stable jb for our device by early 2013.Many experimental build will start popping out soon

there won't be fully working ics/jb because no one willing to re-write damn codecs... y'all have fully working cm7, be happy with that, or buy yourself nexus s or one x, which have ics from the start. Peoples! Stop dreaming and expecting wonders from heavily outdated phone!
Maybe the devs will do something, if the rest of the people is willing to wait!
AOKP build with modified libstagefrighthw.so can play 720p @ ~10 (maybe more) fps, HQ youtube works ( as testers reported ). If AntiBillOS will give permissions camera will be working with 3rd party apps too. So... it's not so impossible after all.
Ok, so camera will work, but only ON HACKS. That's great, really. How about stability of os? :>

yup, i agree with u. The only issue with cm9 (for me at least) is the lack of RAM, i dont care abt the "crappy camera" or "useless" FM.

ok, but the question is not if they can, because it's obvious that galaxy mini is able to run ics/jb, the question is: can it be runned smoothly on low end phone? and i'm only guessing that the answer is no, because of extremely low specs (compared to other phones nowaday) of galaxy mini

[ Guide / Script ] Auto-Porter

WINDOWS
Note: Tested on Windows 8
1) 7-Zip
2) Winmerge
3) Notepad++
4) Java SE Development Kit
5) Place on your Desktop in a folder.
This script comes with instructions for each step, It is the MIUI auto-porter modified for general use with CM10 based roms.
It will say a bunch of stuff about MIUI on the splash-screen at the start, Ignore it.
Any Rom that uses CM10 as a base can be ported to this device using this script.
Download: Auto-porter
I know It's not a new rom update but I figured you folks would like it better, to test it out go to AvatarRoms site or some other CM10 based rom and try your hand at porting!
Some roms will have TW framework or other things like this and that must be taken care of manually, so for more complex ports you will need a good understanding of how to port and diff and xml editing and so on; but for very basic things or to create a quick port to assess what kind of potential work would need to be done, how compatible your device is with a base; this is a good place to start.
Hello
We can port any rom based on CM10 with this ? Like Paranoid Rom ??

I have already tried this with CM10 epinter for base and Paranoid for AT&T One X because they are the same architecture and screen size ( 1280*720 )
But they don't start, i see the log but i don't understand anything ^^'
I retry and i give you feedback
Thanks for your work
im trying that right now the cm10 and pana will tell you if it works its 2.70 so dont think it has pie but hey whatever

Sometimes the foreign rom is just not compatible as a base, you will see results as you experiment and find which phones are most 'similar' to yours
If anyone has successfully ported a rom with auto-porter that boots and is somewhat functional or functional, then please post and share the details here. I personally do not know how to port a rom, or make a rom etc., But I am willing to learn how to use the auto-porter in this thread if someone is willing to point me in the right direction. Like which base to use, and what modifications need to be done and so on...
the tmobile s3 is based from the same chipset, should try there to see

New port to our phone

Hi guys ! I'm thinking about a new port to our phone.. I think I can try something as now I'm a little more introduced in Android , but I don't have the phone ( mine is bricked, some of us already know the story..). So, my ideas ar Ubuntu Phone OS and Firefox OS , from my point Ubuntu is more beautiful but is very hard to find and more harder to build even.. Firefox OS looks great and it's easy to compile, but I don't know how good will work it on our device as our device is not enough good to run it properly good. So, what do you think guys?
I'd like to have both of them but if i have to chose it's ubuntu
It's great but is in beta stage.. and about Firefox OS, I like very much the way you can design apps, it's like HTML but a little differences in framework

I think it's more stable than Ubuntu because it has more apps done already than Ubuntu wich has done only 8-9 apps for system.
Anyways I'm not that good so I guess that I'll just wait for a developer to port one of this oses xD

yeah, you need to port it again but this time using new CM build. Anyway: is there a sense to port ICS (cm9) based roms if there is no stable build for cooperve? Personally i think we should wait for RC version like CM7.2 by biel.

I think closing the thread waiting for a release candidate is not the thing to do. There's people that will use the ROM even with all the bugs and the lag, if it's present.
Please continue the rom it will take time but good things will happen here. I love pa and wish you the best in your work. Thank you bro.

A difference between porting and building, and if he did build it, it will never have hw and will be slow (due to the lack of GPU drivers)
Why so much hurry in making cm9 based roms..Let atleast stable version come..

This thing you said is absurd. Porting will create more bugs. And a port takes libs from base rom, so porting and building makes no difference at this point, but porting might create bugs as it was built for another device.
