Hello, since I have a galaxy gio, besides my OB, I have seen this posted for SG ACE, SG GIO. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240415
What do you think, can someone make it work for our OB, does it sound interesting enough ?

Helllloooo there i see u are really newbie here anyways
My advice to u is read and read and read a lot
flashing official and custom rom is easy as pie but ... u have to know what u are doing
i advise u to read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
its a real help guide to all u need to know about our phone
anyways ... first use a software named odin to upgrade your phone to gingerbread ... its easy to use and some say even safer than official upgrade from kies
than flash that rom from a custom recovery!
you will have not hardware malfunctions
in time you know the difference in roms, what to do, how to do!
but until then ...
google
youtube
and that guide i gave u are your best friends!
keep up the good works anything ...
just ask
take care!
LEWA ROM suggestion
First advice as already given read a lot.. ..as informed first upgrade to ginger bread and then get a custom ROM for your phone.. I use LEWA ROM one of the best and stable..It has also got official support and every friday there is an update with improved features and bugs....
Dont be scared just be confident... on XDA we all are here to help!!!
Enjoy!!

there is no such thing.
And why don't you try it for yourself? you will get to experience it first hand. And if your scared then don't use odin or cwm or even rooting because there are always risks involved in these.

The SGSII v8.1 patch u r talking about is jst a patch for the COmplete v8 ROM. it has recently been updated to v9 and it really is a gud ROM the Battery life is also better in the LAtest Release and it is almost stock based so u won't find A WHOLE LOT of UI changes on your ACe jst additions, and the PErformance is also gud.
other than this, you can try the MIracle ROM it is also a wonderful ROM bt as it is performance based, u can't expect a battery life of 1 day
As you roam around the forums you will learn slowly by trying and testing stuff.
Ohh and ACTUALLY, there is NO perfect ROM
I have tried everywhere :-
Searched upto 5 pages with around 10 different queries on GOOGLE
Used 'Unlock Root'
Manually throught adb cmnds using 'psneuter' and 'gingerbreak'
Using a batch script
But No success!!!
Even re-installed Win-7 [my phone driver wasn't installing, installed at last]
PLZ provide a working way
Why don't you simply install a custom ROM and make your own life easier.
You do realize all custom roms r pre-rooted don't you?

Actually I am very new to android, I bought my phone 5 days ago. But there's problem with it, all 3D HVGA games (even Raging Thunder 2) are running with render problems, sometimes all cars and trees are white, sometimes some meshes are not loaded, or some 2D images moving on screen. I am fed up with it, its like I bought wrong one.
I read somewhere, root your phone -> install chainfire3D ...and that's the only hope. I am sure these games run well on Galaxy Ace. Is there something with this set? kindly help.

http ://s18.postimage.org/av2hilcfp/render_problem_in_GT_S6802.png
I realized it can be done the other way by flashing a rooted rom. But I couldn't, I am not sure which rom should I pick for my device (Ace Duos GT-S6802).
Tried with random rom in Ace forum by Recovery method and there was something like
if(productCode == S5830) ...... .. . .. . . .. . etc FAILED!
I think it wasn't meant for S6802.
Tried something with ODIN [FAILED!]
Plz suggest something... (in quite detail or tutorial link)
have you tried superoneclick??
it works quite wonderfully..
Sent fromm my mind using NFC
Yes, I tried it. It hangs after "running psneuter", or "running GingerBreak", or "running motofail"
Maybe these exploits were fixed in this model:cyclops:

Ok im gonna be pretty honest with you. You did buy the wrong phone. even the first (original galaxy ace, s5830) is a pain in the *** cause you get loads of devs and stuff out there and they quite nicely refuse to make stuff for your phone. you get me??? long story short mate its all business and you made a mistake buying that phone. I dont know if there is ever gonna be any support for galaxy ace i,m,duos in xda. :-( sad enit
I don't think some more research would be harmful but i don't think it would be useful either . good luck though

In that case.

Some guy here said, only impossible is impossible. Just tell me about exploits (gingerbreak etc) or how those zip packages (upd.zip) are made.

this happened with me too, when I was trying to root my brother's Dell Aero.
Jst remove the cable when it hangs and then attach it again.
I successfuly rooted An old ass phone lyk dell aero with this. so An Ace duos should not be much trouble I believe.

I tried CWM of Y DUOS on my ACE DUOS, it did open the recovery menu but failed to mount /sdcard and even crashed while rebooting.

Hey ,, i have a samsung duos as well ,
i found this usefull and i was able to root my phone .
"forum.dailymobile.net/index.php?topic=76649.0"
are there any rom for GT-S6802?
Sent from my GT-S6802 using xda app-developers app
when i was looking around on s5830i General forums i found something VERY Interesting...
in thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1902313&page=2 someone posted that s5830V has the official samsung ICS rom.
so i went to check that on samsung's open source and guess what.
when u type s5830V in the search box on opensource.samsung.com it comes up with a file called GT-S5830V_SEA_ICS_Opensource.zip
The user that has V Model of the phone could succesfully flash a s5830i Rom on his device thru Odin 1.85, which means the V model has the same chipset as i Model.
Right now im downloading the zip file and will look around in it, but since im not that good at examinating rom's would someone please help me do it?

You'll need to compile it before flashing anyway.

I would highly suggest a backup phone. Nandroid backups won't do much if your hard brick your device.
That ROM(sourcecodepackage) has a gingerbread build, I don't know why they called it ICS

Working?

Sorry for my bad English!!
The hardware is completly different, so cannot be used, but almost surely it can be ported.

Both are having different arm architecture, nandroid structure, and even the processor clock is different.
So result = FACEPALM !
This is another people that have corrupted with Windows Mind (cause on Windows you can only think system, and apps). If you already tried Linux you will feel that not only system that important.
OKAY!!!
Okay ... I'm thinking if it's possible ... but I do not ... Any suggestions that you may not find it viable to Touchwiz4
Largely because they are interested in a bored-at touchwiz3.

I'm trying to install TheWhisp Rom Called.. CM9 For My Jena... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012939 ..
My Model Is GT-6500D I Installed this CM9 and always Aborting ,.. It said because The ro.product.model Doesn't Match.. :/ . Status 7.
The CM9 ro.product.model=GT-S6500 .. And Mine ro.product.model=GT-S6500D ... Any one can fix the problem.. i,ve changing The Build.Prop On The CM9 File.. Does Any one can help me?.. I'm sick of Gingerbread .
I'm a newbie.. .
redownload it and try again
the rom is not for 6500D you should not flash it or else you will end up soft bricking
i think its supposed to be for 6500D since that's the phone Whisp is using to port cm10 for it. Problem is development is in a very early stage and lots of things not working so there is no point in flashing it unless your helping Whisp with testing.

Besides that, since you're a newbie, it's better for you and your phone to stay stock until TheWhisp finishes what he needs to finish.
Don't consider this a criticism towards you specifically, but there's an alarming rise in number of people on this forum that don't have the slightest idea on what they are doing with their phones. Fiddling, flashing, messing with critical system files without knowing the consequences of their actions.
