hey guys... i cant post in the developer forum just yet so here i am...
i have successfully rooted my galaxy tab2 7.0 in the past and that is the extent of my android customizing so far...
I have a week old HTC One that is on a Rogers Canada plan.. i am attempting to root this device mainly so i can add cerberus protection.
i think i am going to use the instructions in this post: [TOOL] HTC One (M7) All-In-One Toolkit V1.2 [4-11-2013] [PERM ROOT][Noob-Proof]
this is my first "phone" device.... does all of your account/phone info stay intact through rom flashing and such??
are my phone and carrier a compatible?
what version of hasoon's files should i use?
here is the info from the "fastboot usb" screen
m7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.44.0000
RADIO-4A.14.3250.13
openDSP-v26.120.274.0202
i got my token id and emailed .bim file now, at this point am just holding out a little longer to be sure i am using the correct stuff.. i also need to backup my current stuff before it is erased while unlocking.
Thanks guys
I was sure i posted this last night, but it was gone this morning.
sorry if its double posted somehow
I would use the other method, where you are explained all the steps involved in rooting, it's pretty easy too.

Hey Brand new to your site and I love it already. I have been looking around and there are some threads about rooting HTC incredible 2/s, it seems they are a little old. Does it still work properly or are there newer and better ways? Can someone send me a link with some instructions.
Thanks a bunch your guys are awesome!
:good:
Could you get us some more information about your phones situation? Turn your phone off, take the battery out, put it back in and turn your phone on by posting both volume down and power at the same time for about 4 secs
It should say something like "vivo ship s-on" and tell you your hboot version like 1.13.0000 or something.
That will determine what to do next welcome to the community

Since you have the new 2.02 hboot, you need to refer to this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373697
Alternatively, if you're only doing it to delete apps why don't you go to settings -> apps -> select app and disable it? You don't need any root permissions for that

Okay so you have a Verizon droid Incredible 2
I guess by your posts you already know that
Here is a link to the video/tutorial I used to get s-off via revolutionary.
http://theunlockr.com/2011/08/02/ho...android-phone-using-the-revolutionary-method/
The procedure will be the same. Just cross check before doing it to be sure and confident.
By looking at revolutionary your hboot is able to be s-offed without any downgrade.
Good luck buddy
Thank you
THANKS SSOOO much you guys are AWESOME I can't wait to get home. I stayed up to 4:00 a.m. last night trying to get it done! UUUGH, RELIEF!:highfive:

"CRUSHED"
Do I need the SIM in
I have a Straight Talk Sim I'm trying to get to use. I bought an unlocked sim code which unlocked the sim card holder. But the service is still not working? Should I put the SIM in while doing this root?
Does it reboot itself to fastboot? Its a white screen with coloured writing.
Maybe ask the inc2 guys if you can't get an answer here. Or Google

hey, rooting doesn't wipe your device usually. So your info will stay. Keep me posted.
Hi,
Another noob question from me.
I recently bought a HTC One. I uploaded a custom ROM (was silly and didn't backup properly). I'd like to have the ability to restore the phone to a complete factory reset. I want the same, exact HTC ROM that the phone originally shipped with, and also no ***TAMPERED***, ***UNLOCKED***. I'll worry about the tampered and unlocked later (locking should be easy - but i want ***LOCKED*** not ***RELOCKED***).
My phone's info:
M7_U PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.44.0000
RADIO-4A.14.3250.13
OpenDSP-v26.120.274.0202
eMMC-boot
Mar 15 2013,22:11:42:-1
I keep on running into deadends thinking I've found the factory stock ROM, but when I try to install it, I get errors like 'could not install'...
At some point I relocked the phone and the install went further, but eventually failed with a 'wrong model' error or something. Based on the model info above of my phone can someone point me in the right direction to find the correct ROM?
Thanks so much. I hope soon to be just as much of a contributor as I am an asker...
First of all you cannot get it to state locked it will always say relocked until a s-off is achieved where you will be able to downgrade hboot and second of all download the app below and post the results.

Thanks...downloaded. A long list of variables with no cut'n'paste...but here is maybe the relevant info:
ro.boot.carrier HTC-Asia-SEA-WWE
ro.boot.cid HTC__044
ro.boot.mid PN0711000
ro.cm.device m7
ro.product.module HTC One
ro.product.name htc_m7
Any other details I can provide?
I think this original RUU should suffice.

Stop posting everywhere.
And also, if it's not Optus, then use WWE.
