:laugh:hey just asking if I could directly install cm9 without reverting back to original ROM then installing overcome.
I'm currently using cm10 but the release of the stable ROM is kinda bit taking long so I think I'll just go back to cm9 first
plssss answer
No. Cm9 uses different MTD size. Restock is needed.

seems like o need to clear my PC for some space
Huh. Interesting. What about if I go to CM10 from CM9? A new nightly build came out today. Do I need to restock?
Apparently the date is 20120922
If your cm9 is before that date, restock is needed.

Noob question: Does reflashing the rom rebuild the datadata-data/data simlink? Thanks.

Did you flash the datafix.zip?!?! Why would you do that it was for ICSSgS
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda premium
Just installed chrome beta and was starting to run into memory issues. I was pondering flashing the alternate fix that was just posted in the CM9 thread. I wanted to be able to easily revert if it slowed down my phone. I haven't done anything yet.
Thanks

Don't do it if your on THS ICS, only ICSSGS. And if you flash it again it will rebuild the symlinks...

Thanks.

To answer your original question. Reflashing the rom will restore any symlink. But Demonwav's zip should auto restore, but keep in mind it was made for ICSSGS wich is different.
I have installed AKOP with MTD on the P1000, everything is fine but just find out that the system is a bit lag, even the CPU has overclocked to 1200, so I have been thinking go back to Overcome 7 which is what I was using previously.
Can I just copy the overcome 7 rom to SD and reboot the Tab to recovery mode and flash the rom from there?
Thanks everyone
No. You need to restock to GB using Odin/heimdall

OK thanks. I will give it a try

Not only that, you will need to repartition by including pit file.
Thanks. I forgot to mention that.
But I could argue that it was implied
I mean, how to successfully restock to gb without that!

 hahaha. I can feel the implication. And we really don't want a bootloop here.
Is there any custom roms that work for the samsung galaxy 7inch verizon tablet besides the cubed rom? I really would like to try something new. Any ideas?

I have been running the stable cm9 on my Verizon galaxy tab without any issues at all.
Just goto get.cm and search for p1c in the stable section and download the latest version. I do believe you need cwm 6.0 to flash it. There is a really good link on how to flash ics on our tabs here: http://geekniggle.blogspot.com/2011/12/loading-ice-cream-sandwich-on-verizon.html. I followed this guide and it worked perfectly. (Hopefully I didn't break any xda rules by linking this.)
Best of luck to you. Just don't miss any steps from that link.

i know you didn't ask me but i've been running cm9 for a while now the rc version. very stable no problems on my end. but i was just gonna flash the stable version but someone mentioned something about having cwm 6.0 in order to flash it. i just checked their site and only the 5 something is available for us. please someone correct me if im wrong.
I have a sch-i800 and i have been running cm9 on it with no problems. I am now running cm9.1 stable you can get it from http://get.cm. The Verizon tab it the p1c also download the gapps from http://goo.im. you will need these 2 files to get things working properly with ics on your verizon galaxy tab.
I've been running cm9 since the beta stages. I would definitely recommend it for anyone now that it's stable. Just flashed 9.1 myself last night and it is solid.

Does your battery drain while the tabs off?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
Not normally. There was a bug in cm9 (not yet in cm9.1) where I would get the black screen of death and it would kill my battery. I would have to hold the power to force reboot to restart the tab, but when it is in normal standby, no it doesn't drain my battery.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Funny.... right after I posted this about not getting the black screen of death in 9.1 I checked and my tablet actually had it. So I guess the issue is still there but it isn't a breaker in my opinion.

sooo I downloaded the p1c file. which file is this from the tutorial you posted??
That is the full Rom, should be a zip file. You can't flash it until you get cwm 6.0 recovery on your tab, which if I remember right is the first couple of steps.
Just download everything the tutorial tells you and follow it, don't miss anything.

Well, now that you are on ics, CM10 Jelly Bean nightlies have just released as of last night. First nightly yesterday and it is solid as can be. Havent found one thing that does work. GPS, blueetooth, 3g, wifi, camera, all working with zero workarounds.
Just wanted to point this out to you. Check the nightly section at get.cm under p1c. Runs smoother then cm9!
Sent from my SCH-I800 using xda app-developers app
It is nice but it stops supporting flash. Although there is a work around. Do you how I can make the theme the same as cm9 I liked it simplicity
Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
Just add a different launcher from the play store. Either adw or nova. Should give you the ics feel.

There's no way to just have the status bar like before?
Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
Not that I'm aware of honestly. Not sure if there is a ics launcher that puts that back or not.

Hi,
I've been using AOKP ICS for the last 3 month now, and it has been very good and stable. I would like to upgrade to a Jelly bean based ROM now.
At the current state, which ROM is the most stablest?
Ideally I would like a ROM that uses the old partition layout, so that if I changed my mind, I can easily restore my NAND backup of AOKP.
Cheers.

To my knowledge, all our jb ROM are on new mtd layout.

Hi all,
Thinking of selling my i9000 soon (to upgrade to an S3), before I sell it. I'd like to return it to a stock rom and unroot it (currently on CM9), which stock rom should I use? How do I unroot it, and how do I remove all my personal information?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Thanks! Do I need to use a PIT and repartition? Are there any things to look out for since I'm going from ICS to GB, or is it just the same as flashing any other Odin ROM?
Sorry for all the questions
There is no problem to go back to gb from ics if you use odin.just flash it and you are done.

I thought that it is not that easy because some ICS use different filesystems.
If you want to get back to gb custom rom it's difficult.odin is used to flash official firmware.
