CID - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
is it posibble to change the cid of my HTC ONE?
Cause, i have a T-Mobile branded HTC ONE.

We have to wait for s-off.
With s-off we are able to change the CID.
I hope s-off will released in the next 2 months

and when we have S-OFF, do you think that there will be some ,,tools'' which can do this automatically?
just because I'm a bit scared of doing this myself...

okay,
sorry...
but i have a question:
so, i have a tmobile cid...when i flash an official RUU, will the cid become HTC.xxx ?
or, is there any way to change the cid with normal root (without S-off)
a few moments ago I found something:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672284&page=3
is it possible that someone could do something like this?

Now that we have s-off what can we do with it?

I know there's a ton of things we can do with s-off like different ruu's and supercid but what else?
I'm an HTC noob and there are others like me, so for us, tell us what we can do and how to do it

Lots. Major stuff:
-change CID
-remove red text on splash screen
-custom splash screens
-downgrade firmware
How do you change the red text? That's a big annoyance to me

Also a question from a noob. What benefit is there for being able to do those sorts of things since we can already flash the same roms onto multiple versions of hardware (except for sprint)?

normal users don't know what are the differences but S-OFF will give the devs a lot more space to develop and play on.
and most important, we can **** HTC warranty

If your looking to remove Tampered then you need to read the thread a bit more as you can re-run the process but with a command
that has -t on the end...
I've already done that.

They're talking about the red "This is for developmental purposes only... etc etc etc" on the white HTC splash screen when you first boot the phone.
Im on ATT HTC One, Once i'm on super CID, can i flash any RUU to my liking?
Hint - I plan to flash Dev edition RUU on it.

there's no 2.24 RUU available for us (yet), look here for the correct RUU and update with the official OTA updates to 4.2.2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39588860

i see you're on cid 001 so if you're s-off you can just install RUU "RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7" and you should get 2 updates and the second one will be 4.2.2..

Use the method to get s off it works fine.. I did it to my phone it's simple and easy

Important to remember cid is eight characters long, better to list your full cid.
Not everyone is aware that
HTC__001
Is different from H3G_001 or any other cid that ends with 001

[Q] Which non-sprint RUU can be flashed & how

Hey sorry for the noobish question & if the mods think it not worth the thread space or is in the wrong forum they can delete it. I was wondering since I have an unlocked bootloader,s-off & Hboot 1.44. Can I flash an RUU from let's say (the US developers edition) & what would I need to do!?!? Change CID to either Super cid or the correct cid for the RUU I want to flash & the MID as well or is it not a good idea!?!? Again, sorry for sounding like a noob I feel like i should know this!!! Any help will be highly appreciated!!!!!

NO, you can't it has to be sprint specific.
That goes for roms also. don't flash roms from other forums except sprint

Hboot 1.54 vs 1.55

Hi everyone,
I know that you cannot achieve s-off with hboot 1.54. Now that hboot 1.55 is available with the latest OTA, is it worth still waiting for a method of achieving s-off with hboot 1.54 or are people likely to be trying to achieve it with the latest hboot. I've heard that 1.54 was very buggy which is why it wasn't possible...
Devs will work on an s-off for the hboot 1.55
1.54 isn't supportated.
Any idea which dev or devs are working on 1.55, do you know of a thread were they are discussing it ? You think us poor souls will be able to upgrade from 1.54 to 1.55 ?

I'm now very excited about upgrading to 4.3 if it comes with hboot 1.55
I, like a silly sausage, upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 as soon as I got the phone, this upgrading the hboot to 1.54 from 1.44. So I've never had the experience of s-off with the HTC One

Europe will wait a couple of months before 4.3 will rollout. Stay chill

Haha, that would be the irony. First we couldn't get s-off because our hboot is too new, now we would may not have s-off because our hboot is too old. Funny stuff

You want to hear something funny? When I S-OFF'd on the origional 1.44hboot I changed my CID firstly to HTC__001, but the ota wasn't available.... Everyone was saying change it to HTC__Y13 to get the update sooner, Did just that and boom, 4.2.2 update came straight through lol..... Maybe you're in a better position than the rest of us haha!!

I am waiting for cid htc_032 ... not sure how mainstream cid is that - it should be some kind of Europe unbranded....
By the way, I am with unlocked bootloader, cwm recovery and running on ARDH 22 rom... Once the new version in form of OTA out, How do I upgrade????? Flashing a stock recovery is quite clear, locking bootloader, well probably needed as well but what about the rom? Is it possible to upgrade the firmware only when I am S-ON?

S-off

I know this question is directed more towards the T-Mobile version but I was hoping to find guidance here as well. I have a One that currently has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted. The hboot is version 1.57. I've been trying to get the s-off for a while now but I'm not having any luck. I tried downgrading to different roms but I don't think that was the answer. I'm guessing it's because of my hboot version. Is there anyway to downgrad my hboot without already having the s-off? I've been doing a lot of research but I can't find anything that applies to the T-Mobile version and in my specific situation. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out with this or let me know that it is totally impossible to do right now. I've been working on this for days but I'm determined haha
