As many of you out there i use my smartphone for making calls and sms ing too. I have noticed that when i "stress" a little bit my phone with internet surfing and other apps, when i try to call someone the phone app has a few seconds of lag, which is very bothering me.
I know there is ExDialer wich can help, but i would like to use the default stock dialer/contacts/sms app. Can someone help with that problem? Is there any solution?
If you don't want to use third party apps, then you might consider rooting your phone and installing a custom kernel.. but even then, a few seconds of lag remains.. i use exdialer and am happy with it..

I already am rooted and using custom kernel. But the problem remains. It would be great a mod or something to keep those app always loaded.

I have tested all of them from russian to poland (asian excluded) and all of them had this problem, including indian one.
No one can help on this problem??? A lots of roms on development but no one can try to fix this problem..

The point of my question was that someone might want to make a mod that could solve that bug. There is no need in my opinion to create a new rom to solve a bug. To make it more clear: if i had a little problem on my car i wouldn't buy a new one immediately, first i'll take it to a proff trying to solve it. Wouldn't you? And by the way, i don't remember me "demanding" anything to you personally, feel free to not read this thread if you are not interested.

I do not own knowledges about android enough to challenge no one here..sow absolutely no challenge. Mine was only a question and a discussion about that bug, and as for all the questions it could be an answer or maybe not, no one is forced to do nothing.

Use exDialer and Handcent sms apps instead. They work like a charm without lag. It also helps to keep them in the background always

Well I can't get video play back to work on cyanogen 6.1 I had the same problem with 6.0 is there any fix for this problem? Once I get around this I will b ever so happy. The video format tht I can't get to play are in mp4 format

Glad you contributed in a way that helped OP...
OP, What steps have you taken to try to eliminate things from causing the issue? What is your kernel etc... number of different things that could potentially cause a problem. Have you done a clean install (full wipe of dalvik/system) then install the rom and install nothing else and still have issues playing the video(s). Give us some details and we'll go from there

You have to set your rate lower...I can't remember on the top of my head, but it helps...not to be rude, but if you dig a little, you will find it using the search...it took me awhile, but I found it...also it gives you the correct size to use...my video now takes up the entire screen...

Ignore the guy that was being a **** about the search, does the youtube app play video? if so then as previous posted had replied the framerate and encoding etc maybe too high for the hero to play back, check that
I do have the froyo version of the YouTube app and tht plays with no problem... let me chx tht frame rate issue real fast be right back

Ok I just finished looking at everything I could. Possibly relate to frame rate adjusting.... I had no luck finding anything bout adjusting "framerate" the closes I got was in adw launcher settings and it let me adjust the frame rate for Wht I think were just for the launcher... do u know where I go to adjust tht? This also made me think are my videos are what is causing the problem? Now when I was on HTC - sprint 2.1 I never had an issue with them.. but do u think they are to high/low in quality to play.. cuz after ripping the episodes onto my computer I uses psp9 to convert them into mp4 at the lowest setting ...

When I ran CyanogenMod in the past I had problems playing .mp4's from time to time with the stock apps.
OP - Have you tried any third party apps via market?

Well sent it again. Hope u got it but I was FINALLY able to find a lack luster fix... afterwards friend telling me tht cyanogen don't play nice with mp4 I decided to change my format to 3gp.. although it worked, the quality looks like I taped it from a camcorder from a TV.. I still would like to use my mp4's if people are willing to help still

I'm completely pissed off. I'm going to make it again but it takes time to check everything and I have been working on it for a long time with the help of noejn since I'm giving my first steps at dev. I'll do everything to make it as quick as I can but I'm not going to tell any dates. Please tell me things that you would like to see in my rom like apps features or others.
lg weather widget would be appreciated, DSP manager, no shutter sound, appwidgetpicker by default, remove some confirmation popup like when shutdown or when mount usb mass storage.

In this first version no. I'm putting all efforts at performance and stability and not at theming. Of course that I'm going to make some changes and try to make it clean and good looking but that's not a priority.

Why don't you just try it yourself? It's not going to kill your phone, you can always revert back if you don't like it, so jusy try it if you are interested and report back with your findings instead of expecting someone else to do it for you.

Given that there is a thread in the "Themes and Apps" forum (where it SHOULD be) by babymatteo, this thread is redundant and pointless.
I wasn't being rude, but given how few people there are with this phone who actually participate in these forums, the only way to really find out is to try it yourself. If you spent any time reading the various 4X HD threads then you would see that whether apps and mods work or not depends hugely on what version and region of firmware people are running - so you would be relying on finding someone with exactly the same configuration as you in order to know if it works or not.
I plan to test this at some point - and will report back in the correct thread when I do - but don't have the time or inclination to do so right now.
These forums of ours desperately need a couple of active Moderators as there is no organisation or structure at the moment - people just post things wherever they feel like.

Follow babymatteo's instructions to install. When you copy the files over, make sure you rename the old ones first so that you can simply copy them back over if you need them later.
The setting of the camera is just as much an option megapixels, scenes and locations?
I flashed from cwm. I dont have old files. Now i have 2 camera and gallery.
Old ones work perf.

My first post, and as of yesterday my first custom ROM. Despite some sweaty moments it worked fine thanks to the guidance on this forum and some leaps of faith Can't reply to the relevant thread directly since I'm n00b.
Was very happy with this, however one killer issue that's meant I've had to revert to stock is that Google Talk (installed via GApps link with the ROM) crashes to desktop (no FC dialog) when i attempt to use voice or video within it. Skype seems to work fine though. Anyone else experienced this? I haven't seen it previously reported on here which makes me think maybe I didn't clear something properly (I used cwm recovery 5.5.0.4 to wipe cache, factory reset and clear dalvik prior to flash). I tried repeating the entire upgrade twice from scratch but same issue is still apparent.
Thanks for the coolness and hopeful for some help and further development.

Hey.
You're not the only one. I have the same issue with Google Talk. I, like you, thought that I wasn't installing something right. I even went as far as using an outdated gapps package, namely 20120726, to no avail. If you've gotten help with this, please let me know. Otherwise, I have no idea what else to do. I don't want to revert to stock because, quite frankly, its terrible. Also, to anyone else reading this, any help would be appreciated.
Try uninstalling talk after you've flashed the Rom and then reinstalling it. Had a similar problem with Google search.

I just checked the tablet and i dont see an option for uninstalling the app. just force close and disable. I also checked the play store to try and download the app, but i dont see it in there. maybe i'm missing something? like i said before, any help would be appreciated.
I'm not familiar with Google talk, is it the same as voice. To uninstall you'll need tibu or something like that.
I did find talk to chat in the play store which maybe the same thing you're talking about

Hey, I just want to thank you for your response. Its been a big help. Unfortunately, google talk isn't the same as voice. Its the chat client that is found in gmail and stuff. They just have a separate app for it on android devices. I think i may just use skype to video chat since i can't seem to find a fix for this and I can't bring myself to go back to the stock rom. If anyone happens to find a fix or knows of one, please let us know. Thanks.

gtalk doesn't work
My first ROM as well and facing the same problem with GTalk. Skype & Hangout on Google+ works fine. I was also wondering probably i missed a step.
But this ROM is so awesome don't want to restore. Other problems I am facing is that USB is not getting recognized on tablet and 3G not working. Any of you facing similar problem with 3G and USB?

As far as 3G, my tablet is the WiFi only, so I can't help you there.
With the usb, have you tried turning on the MTP setting? When you connect the tablet, go to settings>storage> and in the upper right hand side of the screen, if you press on the 3 dot things, you are going to see USB computer connection. press that and you will see the option to turn on MTP. I hope this helps.
Thanks for the replies, glad to know I'm not alone with g talk. Finally got stock ics ota but it's terrible! Prime example is Swype keyboard often appears the size of a credit card. Going back to cm as soon as talk fixed also had the USB issue but didn't try the workaround

it's all good. it happens to us all. I guess its a matter of waiting to see if anyone else realizes there is a problem and issues a fix of some sort. Int any event, i'm sticking to this rom until they find a fix.

AOIP meets Growl = The Best of Both ROMs
This is a port of Jb 4.3.1 Growl v5 (DarkLiquid/Smooth/Gaming/Battery) Samsung Galaxy W i8150 by @ipromeh, I am using @camcory’s Team Insomnia AOIP 2.0 (4.3) alpha for Galaxy Exhibit SGH-T679 as base. Far as a name change, how about "GNAoIP" (keep the "O" lowercase and "gnaw" on AOIP instead of "growl" which is harder to incorporate into one name with AOIP). the link has several jb gapps, none of which state 4.3 specifically. I have three already, but when I tried one, the newest one I had, it clearly was not the correct one. rather than go down the list, trying jb gapps until I find the right one, I thought s question was justified.

on the top of the link page it has a graph, it says cyanogenmod in one column and android in another. under the android one it has 4.3,
download the one thats under the row of cm10.2 and 4.3... dont mean to sound mean but its kinda obvious

Nandroided my setup and checking this out for the hell of it. I'll report back when I get an idea of how this performs. Love the boot animation!
Far as a name change, how about "GNAoIP" (keep the "O" lowercase and "gnaw" on AOIP instead of "growl" which is harder to incorporate into one name with AOIP). Well I have to say this is pretty stable and fairly fast. Unfortunately some minor annoyances are too much for me, and the sad thing is it has nothing to do with the ROM but the android version I'm sure. Latest Viper works but doesn't play well with 4.3 IMO. You can get it to work with your music players but you can't get it to work with system sounds at all. So if this app is controlling sound you won't hear any notifications/ringtones unless you turn the app off. Tried a million things but nothing changes that situation. The other problem is that ad blockers like the one @BSDgeek_Jake comes out with don't work, although maybe Crossbreeder could do the trick but it is really for 4.2. The developer has been working on a 4.3 update for 3 months. This is what is so frustrating when new android OS are released, it takes FOREVER for everything else to catch up.
Anyway nice work porting this and anybody who doesn't need some of the things I need would be pretty happy using this ROM.

download the one thats under the row of cm10.2 and 4.3... dont mean to sound mean but its kinda obvious

I am a noob, so I will, on occasion, ask noobish questions. what seems obvious to you wasn't so clear to me. thank you for the link. I look forward to trying it out. it will have to be pretty good, though, to beat out the other new rom we got today (I forget the name). this one's pretty nice.

Super Nexus is Tim's old ROM and it isn't being updated anymore, some people here are just discovering it for whatever reason.

back in the phone's glory days ahaha. btw did you get weird fc on the camera after flashing the settings fix for the rom?
For me everything works great, looks like a great and buttery ROM, however most of the market apps wouldn't download for me including Facebook, what's app, Google search update just to name the few. What happens is download would start for a spilt second you would see the download animation in status bar and then stops right away. Play store would show that's it trying to download forever with no result. Please help.
I have reinstalled ROM, cleared play store and download manager app restated tons of time with no luck. Thanks in advance for your help.

I am having the same problem, I am trying different combinations of files to see if that fixes it.
Maybe one of the Developers of Team Insomnia can assist us with some help to figure out what broke the play store.
@ArtfulDodger Thanks for the review, i always read your posts as they are straight to the point, I usually keep my installed ROMs the way they are, so i can say much.
Anyway, This is a try and i am sure thing will get better with time.

Never even tested the camera, I spent all day trying to get V4 to fully work!

I had trouble with Play initially, same problem you all describe. I just hit stop on the downloads while in progress, then started them again. They downloaded fine after that. Weird but simple solution. BTW a fix for V4 may be incorporating it into the ROM. If you decide to just ask @zhuhang first.
Tried stopping and starting but no downloading of apps from playstore
