Buying Dev Edition for Europeans. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Being offered HTC One DE, I'm thinking if I can use it in Europe.
- As in, will I be able to flash another broadband if the stock gives me terrible signal?
- Will there be any bumps on the road?

according to this thread, you can flash modem via adb.
there are always bumps in the road.

Yes, but that thread also notes that after flashing the radio, it did not support the AWS band that the TMO radio is supposed to use.

but it still answers your question. you /can/ flash radio. bumps milage may vary.

Flash yes. Get it working, no.

So I'm getting this error.

I can only assume that they aren't accepting my card since it isn't from the states.
Guess this is going to make my final decision unless there is a way around this, but is there?

[Q] Radio behaviour with different ROM's when phone is S-ON?

Hi all!
I have unlocked the bootloader on my phone thorugh HTC Dev, but unfortunately I cannot get S-OFF (yet, waiting patiently).
I have been trying out a few ROM's and I notced that on the latest one (that I really like!) I seem to get worse 4G coverage. I installed Android Revolution to get 4.3 and it seems to have noticeably worse 4G coverage around my office and my house. 1 bar instead of full bars.
I am just wondering; On the HTC Dev site it says that being S-ON protects what you should not change anyway, as the radio. So my radio should be the same. Might there be an issue with the compatibility between the radio and my current ROM? Is there such a thing?
Thanks in advance!
I have been googling, but there are too many variants of the HTC One out there, so I have not been able to find anything relevant to this issue on my phone.
This should be the relevant info from settings:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I've installed probably 40 different ROMs (not versions, ROMS) on my ATT One and I've noticed the same exact thing, I've actually stopped using a ROM and went to another one just to have my service feel regular again.
Changing a setting seems to have helped a lot for me. Read this post and the next page in the thread. :good:

LG 70 5GHz WiFi Problem

Hi there,
I'm posting this here since it was the closest forum I found to my LG 70 "variant" (LG-D320g8)
Could anyone help me why this device is not recognizing my 5GHz WiFi home network?
Some specs:

I also have an LG G3 and that phone is not having any trouble getting connected to my wifi router transmitting on that band.
TIA.-
PD: Both phones are rooted in case this helps

mmmm... but that would mean to lost everything I've installed (apps) there right?
I mean, like performing a factory reset?

You really think that cheap LG 70 (LG-D320g8) would have the hardware to support dual band wifi?

Most likely not, that unit does not look like a MTC unit.
You need to go into settings and find the MCU version. Based on that you can then find out if and what can be flashed.

Yes. Definitely not MTC. You cannot flash any MTCB/C/D ROM.
can i flash any other rom?

If you can get an updated ROM from your seller, yes.
You can also search these forums for your MCU and see if there is any custom (or updated) ROM for your unit.

Dedicated Night Mode for the Camera App (T-Mobile)

Any way to port this over to North American phones? I know some European countries already have this. It sucks that we have no update on an ETA for us to get this update so I'm wondering if this can be ported right now?

I appreciate that suggestion but I've never been happy with the performance with something that's not meant for our phone.

night mode does not do anything really. you already have it on your phone it just does it automatically. It is not like Night Sight where you will see a world difference.

Sure but it's still nice to have the option to use it manually when you want.

General Is anyone else able to unlock their sim after 90 days?

I suppose they've removed the old 90 day requirement for sim unlocking, although being able to unlock your bootloader out of the box is nice. Think I'm done going through t-mobile and possibly just repairing my old 8t since those aren't locked down, and has rom support.
