HI,
I have a htc one black simfree handset, and i have been trying to unlock the bootloader for the past couple of days but with no luck. im not going to
explain each step that i did to save time, but i follow these guides step by step without missing anything, usb debugging also switched on.
at first i tried
the step by step guide from ibtimes.cp.uk. all the steps went quite well until the last, where i have recieved the unlock_code.bin file and copy and
paste into the same folder as the fastboot file, then i went to command prompt and typed fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin, so after that
it should unlock the bootloader, but at this stage nothing happens at all. so then i tried another step by step guide from android.gs site, the two
guides are very similar but on the android.gs site it mentioned about turning off your antivirus software, so i thought that was the problem, so i went
ahead and did the step by step guide with the antivirus switched off, but no luck again. stuck on the same stage again. so the last guide i tried
is the all in one tool kit by hansoon2000, and the same problem again. im not sure if the UK verson of HTC one is different, but can someone
please help me unlock this damn bootloader so i can root it and install some custom rom. thank you,

On my Nexus One that is running OS version 2.3.4 Build GRJ22, when I try to unlock Bootloader i get an error on my N1 screen that read tells me there’s “no image or wrong image”. It flashes on the screen for a split second in about 4 rows on the upper left and then disappears. Also, on my computer, in the cmd prompt, after I enter the fastboot command listed in the instructions it just gets hung up on “” PLEASE HELP!!! I’m about to throw the damn thing against the wall.
Since unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone anyway, why not try and do a passimg restore first, to make sure everything is as it should be?
what is a passimg and how do i do it?
Look at the unroot/restore guide in the wiki...
So, why is this better or worth doing instead of unlocking Bootloader and then rooting?
It's not an alternative.
You seem to be having problems unlocking the bootloader. I doubt the problem is the fastboot executable on your PC, so I would try fixing the software on your phone instead.
It's just a hunch, but I suspect that you will have more success unlocking your bootloader after trying this...
So I initially unlocked bootloader and was going to flash recovery and a custom Rom, but I thought I read I have to relock then use the AT&T update to ICS and then unlock again. So I am at the point where I need to unlock the bootloader and it never seems to complete. I have left the command running for over 10 minutes but it doesn't finish. It did this before I upgraded to ICS but eventually did go through. This time it just doesn't seem to work. I have been booting into hboot, then switching to fastboot, the running the command to unlock,, but it just sits at that point. Anyone have any suggestions besides using the guide or the supertool. I have tried the guide and the supertool but neither is working now.
Oh yeah, this is on my new Vivid I just got. I'm not quite a noob as I have rooted my other phones.
Retry on the HTC dev site ....it might help u
Thanks, I tried again today and for some reason it went through smooth. Wonder if it has something to do with the USB port on one computer vs on my laptop. Weird, but I got it unlocked, rooted and loaded the Virtuous Inquisition ROM.
Thanks for the help.
Hi,
So I have been following this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373697) step by step and all was going fine untill I got upto downgrading through installing the RUU. I got a ERROR CID 131 : Customer ID. I've done some searching on XDA Forums and apparently it's a goldcard problem. However, now my phone is stuck on bootloader and can no longer boot into OS. Any Ideas?!
Thanks

I had the same thing. make sure all the drivers are installed. if you are on windows 8 then I can't help you cause I was on the same OS and I was forced to use another PC running windows 7. then when the run.me asks you that you need goldcard type ''Y''. by the way, as a personal experience, the script says to run it on administrative mode. don't do it. just run the run.me with no admin or compability, Hope I helped!

Have u tried relocking bootloader before running RUU? Worked for me.
Sent from one of the few remaining Incredible S'
I'm not sure but if he says he has used the script then probably the script must have relocked the bootloader, right?
OK, so I've followed the newb guide to relocking my unlocked bootloader here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/noob-guide-unroot-relock-bootloader-vzw-t2571786/page4
I had issues getting the bootloader locked but found another guide here:
https://forums.motorola.com/posts/029f68b0a0
I used the command listed in the xml file listed at the bottom of the page, adapter to my phone of course.
After a few tried I got everything transferred with fastboot and the fastboot screen on my phone now says locked. My issue now is that the phone still boots up with the Bootloader Unlocked Warning screen.
Will I still be able to upgrade with the OTA? If not, what do I need to do to get rid of this warning screen on boot so that I can upgrade?
Any help is much appreciated, and I apologize if this has already been answered somewhere, but I've been looking for the past 3 hours with no success.

Nevermind, this has been solved.
I was able to upgrade even with the warning screen on boot. Hopefully this helps someone.

There was absolutely no reason whatsoever to "relock" your bootloader. In fact, it was very foolish to do this.
Glad you got it solved, but for future reference, there IS NO REASON TO EVER RE-LOCK THE BOOTLOADER.
Having an unlocked BL does NOT prevent you from taking OTAs.
Hello.. how are ya devs
I've asked this last night numerously and ended up with headaches.. yes.
I accidentally wiped EVERYTHING from my htc one and I have S-ON so I basically can't flash a firmware.. So I spent the last night looking at my beautiful blank white screen.. How do I fix it please? I'd appreciate a help..
Quick Help (might work 4 you)
Hey buddy,
I got myself a M7 working again by letting it get set back to stock from a RUU.exe which fit to my phone.
It was S-On and with an UNlocked bootloader.
At first is to say that I cant provide any guarantee for the workability of my solution, neither will I take any responsibiliry in case you mess your mess up even more
But here is how I went on the case:
I just got myself this quick installer here to set up my PC for adb and fastboot commands!
Second you will need the HTC Drivers ("Solo Driver Installer) and a working USB Cable of course
After connecting Phone I started my Phone into bootloader and swiched to the "fastboot" mode! I used the Windows "CMD" command tool to find out which Baseband version i need, by typing fastboot devices and fastboot getvar all. The second command gives you the needed infomation about your Baseband!
After finding out, find your fitting RUU.exe right here and load that 1,6 GB file
At last all you need is to make sure that your bootloader is (RE-)LOCKED, because else the RUU.exe wont work!
A simple fastboot lock oem will do the thing! Afterwards your Phone should be able to get reflashed with the Stock ROM and stuff that comes by the RUU! NOTE: Unlocking your Bootloader requires a working OS as far as i know, and cant be done by another "Fastboot oem UNlock" command
This link is describing the same procedure in case you're unsure..
Greetings, a happy owner of a working HTC M7
