Hi all,
Before the flaming starts, let me clarify. I love chrome. It's great. Tabbed browsing, chrome to phone and all. However, I enjoy using websites with either streaming content or video on demand. Unfortunately, it seems that Adobe isn't supporting Flash on android 4.0 and higher - and that's their prerogative. This does leave me with a void in my media consumption. Are there any browsers/codecs/something I don't know about which can help solve my internet video problem?
[For example, teamliquid.net]
thanks
Try the browser.apk for AOSP. Even supports flash if installed

Could care less if I get "flamed"....until chrome has a setting for desktop by default and displays full screen it sucks.
Many of the browsers don't work well on the Nexus 7.Aosp browser: can't access its menu (at least the apk I have, and the one on Paul Obriens Rom.
Boat browser (my alltime fav...will have an update soon...but it's not ready). Dolphin Lite seems to be ok..for now just not real quick.

Actually I've found that the Maxthon browser (built by XDA dudes)...works pretty well.
I side loaded the newest Firefox. Seems to work fine with flash.

I cant get Dolphin to work flash at all on my Nexus. I installed the flash apk floating around too, but nothing. Does yours work on putlocker? Did you update to the new version of Dolphin that came out yesterday (i think) that disables flash?
I have been using Xscope pro 7 with flash and it works perfect for me, also has a check box for displaying site in desktop mode and it doesnt reset every time you have to reboot.
I've been using xscope or about 3 years now and it download anything I throw at it, the newest iteration is design with the nexus 7 in mind.
Firefox works fine for me with good flash integration. Synched to all my other machines.

First, let me apologise in advance, this isn't directed at you personally, it is a general annoyance with the use of this term by Americans. Not that I have anything against Americans, I just have something against the usage of this phrase.
It really should be I could'NT care less. Small and trivial point, but for some reason, it properly boils my piss.
How do I "side load" Firefox ? Thanks

Using file explorer like ES File Explorer, just click on the file to install. It's ask you to change setting, allowing installation of apps from unknown source (if it's not already checked).
u got a link for the apk?

You can just google "firefox 14.0.1 apk" (14.0.1 is the latest version).
If you don't want to bother side loading, you can try Firefox Beta (Play Store link). It is compatible with N7 and installs directly from Play Store.

How did you get this to work? I have both installed but not getting flash views. Also tried Maxthon browser, no success.

It isn't really an American thing, it's a "didn't read it before posting" thing. The phrase makes absolutely no sense. I've never heard anyone say "I could care less" in an actual conversation, it's like they know how ridiculous it sounds when they say it, but that same censor doesn't come out when typing.

I don't know what do you mean with "autocomplete"...
If it means "Autofill" or something different...
May help if you go here and search a little:

Hummm... Maybe not. In stock browser, SwiftKey 3 don't give suggestions, auto-complete, nothing.
I have auto-complete and suggestions here, in sms, and others but on the browser, nothing...

Hi all,
I have updated my P880 but with leaked EURO OPEN version (I didn't wait for the official update!).
The software version on my phone is P88020a-EUR-xxx? Is this the latest version for Croatia?
The reason why I'm asking this is because I have problems with Internet Browsing and with couple other apps what wasn't the case with ICS version.
For instance, I realized that when I want to open some site that has flash in it my phone opens the page and immediately shuts down the browser. I tried to restart the phone but I doesn't seem to help. Now it turns for a lot of webpages that it cannot open - pretty annoying
I could try to make a factory reset but I have couple pretty important apps that concern my job and I would need to loose a lot of time to get them back again through official way - therefore, factory reset is not an option.
I think that problem could be the leaked version of Jelly Bean?!

YES WE know they work and all that. but they are buggy and non optimized everything seems to use the cpu to the max when there is flash anywhere on the page and the browser closes by itself in these cases most of the time.

even youtube desktop you click the video to stop it and it stops it, but then it's unresponsive to play it or to stop it and the whole page is like a scrollable image then you have to close your browser with task manager and reload and this happens every time.

I tried the Youtube in the phone stock browser (the only one that I use), and I didn't had any problem.
I rotate the screen, stop the film, re-started, scroll down, back to full screen again, etc... no problem detected.
Maybe I'm just lucky.
Like I said before, I don't have issues with FlashPlayer.

I'm runnin v.11.1.115.47 but, I heard that the latest one is v.11.1.115.57.
" Prerequisites
You’ll need a phone or tablet running Android 2.2 (Froyo) to 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Check Settings > About phone / About tablet to see what you’re running. If you’re on Jelly Bean, check that you have a stock browser installed besides Google Chrome, as Chrome for Android doesn’t support Flash. Check your app drawer for “Browser” or “Internet.”
Hi
I've got a stock UK JB XT890 - not rooted or unlocked in anyway.
I am having issues with ALL the browsers I have tried EXCEPT Chrome Vs the mobile Wikipedia site.
Matches this old Android bug report.
So far I have tried the stock JB browser, Dolphin, Next, UC and a few others.
When it happens the page dipslays, but then hangs and crashes.
There is this post at Stack Overflow. that links this behavior to a specific font family. Not sure about that.
Whilst I am happy with Chrome, it is still quite basic, and Dolphin does what I want.
Dolphin support have been looking at it, but I think it is a wider issue. Do these browsers rely on some underlying Android application for their rendering/javascript?
Cheers
Eserim
I've been having the same problem. In the end I just installed the Wikipedia app.

Cheers - just tried that, but alas, the Wiki App doesn't seem to get picked up when requesting wiki URLs from Dolphin (works fine with Chrome and Stock)
Strange that this issue hasn't been sorted, looking back it has been an issue for several years
For me its normal, i can open the mobile version of wikipedia on Dolphin, Firefox nightly, Chrome, Opera

This bug came along with Moto's crappy JB implementation. I didn't want to install extra apps for all the web sites that crashed my browser. After having some other problems with my banking app I went back to ICS and all issues are gone.
Hello everyone! I have ran into a bug, which causes google chrome to display character lanes messed up. This basically makes the page VERY hard to read. I am using Android 4.4.2 by [NUT] but this bug bothers me for as long as i can remember. I mostly meet this in the xda forum. I have also included a screenshot, of what exactly it looks like. Altho im not sure if im allowed to include other members forum in the screenshot...
I also just noticed that if i zoom in and out, the letters fix again... I have tried clearing data and cache of the app, but the problem persists...
