Guys I'm new to android world with my galaxy s advance. The phone has about 768 mb RAM. but only about 550 is allotted to use. Out of which about 350 is always used by bloatwares. well I want to achieve this http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach.../9/9/3/8/7/Screenshot_2013-03-12-18-45-30.jpg
I know this is a custom ROM. but is there any way to get 630mb ram in use. And if it include removing bloatwares, Without flashing a custom Rom i would like to know how to do that. Thanks.
That increase in ram occurred for some people when they upgraded to jb..But it doesn't really make a difference to be honest.. removing bloatware would help though... For that you will have to root your phone and install an app Like Titanium backup Or Root uninstaller..
This should help in deciding which apps to remove.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200954

630 MB ram can be achieved only by using custom kernel on JB firmware. Stock JB firmware gives you 625 MB RAM. For removing bloatwares look at the thread by Darkness & Hope (Debloating Noob Guide or something like that)
The simplest way would be to use NoBloat Free app (from Google Play)
But you must be rooted by the way..... And be sure to not remove any system apps as then you have a chance to make your phone unstable or may even soft brick it!

well you don't really need to do that.
on phones with small memory its nice to kick out the operator bloatware but with the amount of room on the tab you don't have to do it.
you will get a far bigger speed boost by installing a custom kernel and overclocking it and installing a custom rom (which will also come with bloatware removed)
Hey guys, please only answer and keep reading if you are willing to help at a 100% rate. Don't need trolls here, but people who can actually help!
I want to reinstall my Stock ROM. I've been using Stock GB 2.3.5 since start, with Root, then I added CF Root b84 Fix. But its getting kinda laggy(I only have like 7 pages of apps, somewhere about 100+ new installed apps). But they are apps that only run after they are called, not background Apps.
So I was woundering if a clean reinstall would help my phone?
EDIT: Runnning Stock ROM 2.3.5 - Samsung Galaxy Ace.
Or should I update to a new version of GB?
------------
If I need to update to a newer stock ROM, how do I do it?
------------
If I don't need, how do I reinstall?
------------
Either ways, what's the best backup I could do in such a case? Use Titanium and back it all up? But I got a question, If i back it all up and restore it, won't it be impossible to recover everything, since i got Link2SD and memory is big because of that? If I put everything back it will say too small size. How will I arrange with that?
Thanks whoever answer all my questions!

Ive flashed CM7 on several devices and its the best way to go for GB! :good:
flash with cm7 with cwm 5X and then again through odin flash 2.3.6 stock rom. it runs well i tested it
Noone answered all my questions
Also, isn't CM7 more RAM eating and more battery draining? That's what people saying..
And again, that doesn't answers my questions ;p I want to remain on stock. Just dunno if I should update to 2.3.6 and HOW do I do it. AKA its on my questions above.

To clear your misconception,Free RAM has nothing to do with your device being laggy(Though reduces multitasking).Unless whole 278 MB ram is being used,no lags.2nd,Free ram is wasted ram.3rd,read sticky.Lots of guides are stickied which tell you how to use ODIN,Root,Flash and all this stuff.4th,yes a clean install of ROM will help.Try stocklite, completely stock.Or i suggest you to flash DDKQ8 but if you are paranoid about RAM consumption, then I should tell you even with no apps installed,200+ MB ram is used in.this firmware.
EDIT:-And trolls, you will only find in OT

OT? xD Whats that.
Well, I know there's guides, but guiding, doesn't explain. I mean, a guide tell you, do this and that, but doesn't explains what your doing, or what is gonna be the result. Like with Link2SD, what gonna happen if I backup? If my phone is laggy, a backup from CWM will keep him laggy too... The lag from what i'm having is when I unlock my phone, the slide to unlock is laggy sometimes, and if you unlock it laggy, the phone will stay laggy for a while. People say its because of deep sleep(made a thread about it), but phones takes some time to go to deep sleep, and this is not the case.
So I have no idea what is DDKQ8, im no programmer or knower about those stuff. What are advantages, or what does DDKQ8 means..

OT is off topic thread.anyways DDKQ8 is baseband version.I recommend you do a factory reset and install the apps fresh.Dont restore data using Titanium backup or CWM.
Newer version of link2SD has relink option, which cross checks apps installed on your SD-ext partition, made for those rom changes. Otherwise, restore backup with titanium and link again.
Also, with 100+ apps lag is normal, if installed on SD card a higher class SD card helps.
To stop the lag when you turn the screen on,
Go to cyanogenmod settings>performance>CPU settings or download setCPU
Then change the minimum frequency to 245

Can someone make me a list of some apps, wich I can use to improve the performance of my SMG?
I have the stock rom, with root, and I don't want to install custom roms, just some apps, like Chainfire, etc.

before you get flamed really badly....
1. nobody around here approves starting time-saving-lazy-threads that can be easily avoided by certain amount of time you could've invested in search
2. advice: the more specific about what you have/need (rom, what kinda performance improvement you're looking for,,,) it's more likely to get help
3. just not to be another old fart: i would recommend ram manager (pro) which is getting quite popular for a reason
you must use pimp my rom. it will cover most most tweaks
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
i don't now why you don't want to install custom roms ..moustly include a lot tweeks for best performance
u can find scripts, and tweaks to improve your phone performance
Apps:
- cache cleaner(lol)
- chainfire 3d(for games, it works on sgm)
If u have cm or other custom rom u have parts...there should be animation speed (set it to fast for bigger performance)
Now...NEVER USE AN TASK MANAGER...
Use a lighter launcher (like LauncherPro)

A full restore might work
Sent from my HTC Desire C using xda app-developers app
I have already done..
Desire C has few problems:
- crappy processor
- low RAM
- low internal memory
Stock ROM is good until you start to use your phone. I found that cleaning cache regularly improves the speed. For some reason, too much of internal memory is used for temp files, and that slows down the phone. You have the "Get more space" option to help you with that.
Try to move all your apps to SD card.
But I sincerely advise you to install some of slimmed ROMs, revolution rom I use is great and snappy. And overclocking the cpu helps a lot.

yep try revolution ROM it's the best ROM out there!
but the desire c doesn't have a crappy processor at all it's HTC Sense wich is making it lag!
Or if you're a bit advanced try the SuperStripped Revolution Rom.
It has less apps than the others and so it doesn't need that much memory.
And like the others said, try which oc kernel is the best for you.
V5 Customizer

Get V5 Customzier and install moderate ram which will boost your free ram as realistically it only has 412mb of ram (Requires CWM).
Hi there, I have question how you guys speed up your jelly bean performance on ace?
Maybe u will tell something new for me
For example I:
* Use memory managment - zRam to max, allow purging of assets ON, kernel samepage merging ON
* Limit background processes to 2-3 (in dev options, unfortunately after every reboot that needs re-apply)
* After reboot I try to force stop every non-system app, whats running
(using task manager to see whats running)
* Using only one widget

And at this moment my task killer shows 140mb free on CM10.1 (bieltv.3, RC2 release)
Maybe you should flash Adrenaline Engine and install Seeder + Greenfy to keep ram usage to low level. The first two things I mentioned works very well on stock GB and make the phone really fast. Also you can use CAREFULLY Pimp my rom to apply mods to speed up more the rom. Be aware that you can't do that much because the phone is very not powerful and the rom is not optimized at 100% so above some level of smoothness you can't go. P.S. You can also use a swap partition or the kernel patcher Memod+Swapall.
Inviato dal mio GT-S5830
Pushing free mem into 50 or 75MB, smartassV2 or smartassH3 + sio, Greenify, replacing Launcher2 with the launcher from XperiaZ.
For swap I use Swapper 2 from Google Play.
Is it best of kind? and how good is performance?

I am sorry. I did not see your post.
Do you mean Swapper 2?
It is just an interface. You need a kernel which supports swap (like the one of the Cm 10.1 builds or erikcas' AOKP ROM). The performance depends on the kernel. The app just invokes busybox commands.
There are few apps that manage swap. If you want a simple one for swap files, use this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.azasoft.free.swapper
If you want it to have more features and/or support a swap partition (which is faster and better as it is mounted even if the phone is connected to a PC). The biggest advantage besides that is its feature to clean the swap partition when it gets full. If the app does not (like the first one), it will be lagging like hell.
So I recommend Swapper 2. :good:
However, make sure that you have a class 10 SD card. Other classes will slow down the phone. And the life of the card will be decreased due to the many read and write actions.
You can transform you rom on a Bareboned Rom to make it as fast as possible, e.i. deleting all useless apps!! instead of using apps to freeze others as Greenify, TB, AndroidTaskers... that of course is runnig in background, so the best way to stop all background processes is removing the app that produce these processes xDDD

Yes, probably one of the best methods. However, you will have to do that again for every new release.

JB is already faster than GB.
Thats enough for ace.

lol but gb is much more stable i think.. thats why some users prefer stock roms instead latests jb roms
