i searched up google and it tells me that red dot is indicator of water damage to phone..... after drying up i can boot phone... it is turning on... i havent tested other functions cuz i found some more water so i left it to dry..........
i will take it to samsung tomorrow and hope for best...
Please take a picture of the red dot. I wanna see it.
And maybe we can put a waterproof sticker over the red sticker so that when the phone actually does fall in water it won't turn red. Then remove the waterproof sticker and give it to the service center.

Oh you are that Delhi guy. Remember me
And for your phone.
Did you tried downloading mode. If working flash the stock rom. Then took it to Samsung guys.
But I think you should let it dry first fully and try your luck.
Better try with a dryer after removing the battery.
Yeah better let it dry first. I think putting the phone in a bowl of rice helps as well.
Edit: This might help.

Warranty is void anyway because of the awesome red dot stickers, so you could have told him since you'll be paying for the repair. But if telling CM7 is just an app worked then that is going to help a lot of Mini users claim their warranty. Thanks for sharing, man.

You referring to the current situation (Water damage, but Phone's working) or a fully bricked state.
And, they think Kies software would detect the Phone with a fully bricked state?
And if the phone is working, how much time would it take to look on "About Phone" section. From there, the Service Centre guys could easily detect whether Custom ROM is installed or not.

There is no waranty that covers water damage to the phone. Only phone insurance wich i doubt you have. If they inspect your phone, they will void your waranty because no matter how much you dried it, water leaves marks. Anyway, if the screen is ok and the phone boots up, you wont have to pay that much for the reparation.

You may be right that they can check in "About Phone".
But I have witnessed cases that the service center guys acts like totally idiot and can be easily fooled.
I think most of them don't have knowledge and they just do a GOOGLE SEARCH.
Once I told them to repair my headphones just after 7 days of purchase they asked me to give my phone, I asked Why?
They (she)replied: we have to check phone. She typed some number on the dial *#*#1234...something and some other number to get details.
I even asked them to upgrade it to gingerbread from froyo and i gave my phone.
Then next day I came to get my phone with repaired headphones
and those foolish! Mad ass people reflashed muy phone with what: froyo over froyo and i lost everything.
I asked (in anger) why did you reflashed with old one. In that they said gingerbread is not yet available.
As far as for flashing they surely used kies.

Hello All,
My OB is bricked, i was flashing it with smartflash tool and installing official lg optimus gb image, but suddenly it was bricked. Now it is not starting, not even in download mode, no signal of power.
Any ideas?
It caused bcoz of loose cable connection.
While flashing any ROM, cable should have intact connectivity..

ok, but is there any other way?
In case of hard rest, as N00BY0815 said, only way is to take the phone to LG service center, but you have to take precaution regarding:
Take out the memory card and keep at ur home, in case you rooted the phone, otherwise they will know that U rooted the phone and reject the warranty.
i dont think rooting is against warranty everywhere does your pc recognises it when you plug it in while holding p
volume+ ?

He already said, it doesnt even turn on in download mode, so there is no chance to revive it. LG will not know, if it was rooted or not, since noone can turn it on and check it. So just do what i told you above and everything should be good again

This is software error not hardware error. They can't charge you buying new free software.
If its hardware error, in this case, then the problem is not caused by the root and they can't reject warrenty (at least in Europe, I'm pretty sure in most places they'll get away with it.)
EDIT
@Nooby
If they can't access it through new bootloader they have to use JTAG equipement and then you can read and write to flash memory.

I have not much knowledge like xonar and N00BY0815,
Maybe they used JTAG or something ..bcoz at first they try to know whether it is rooted and non-rooted to get reject the phone here.
At that time, I contacted the most senior developers here in XDA, they also suggested that there is nothing to do if the phone is not turning on, & take it to service center...(the case is of LG P500)
That's strange. When I hard bricked mine, they kept my phone 3 weeks to finally say that it was the motherboard which died (I flashed a P990 rom by mistakes, it was for a friend but I forgot it in my sdcard).
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
11 days ago i installed cm10 nightly 11-14-12 after using the rom about 4 days, suddenly while charging my phone turn off and didn't turn on again. It can't enter sw upgrade. When i send it to the lg service center they said that it was a motherboard problem and need to replace it. It cause P9,000 (about $214). What the F**K! The brand new Optimus black here cause around P13,000 ($309). My warranty is already expired so i decided not to replace the motherboard and wait for the release of nexus 4 here in my country.
That time i'm using blackberry charger 5v output. Do you guys think that the hardbricked has also something related to the charger?
Hey all
I just flashed the new V30B Europe Open on my OB, but I thought I'd give it a try via the CWM Inject method, also, so I could have CWM.
Do not bash me....I did not read the stuff about the locked bootloader sh** LG has sticked in. And now I am sorry.
Fact: I now have a really black Optimus Black. Nothing pops on screen, looks completely dead, no SW recovery, nothing. No LG Security Error screen.
Is there any way I can fix this?
I'm not sure I want to go in service as LG Romania are complete idiots. They wanted to do a phone mobo change on a phone that just needed a plain fw reflash via sw upgrade mode, for three of my friends.
I am not afraid of tearing stuff apart, and other hobby electronics voodoo, but I need to know if I can fix this somehow without a mobo/chip replacement.
Many many thanks,
Val.

Hey, no, that's exactly the problem, it's in dead boot state. No download mode, no charging screen, nothing.
From what I see by looking online, I can only hope for a jtag rewrite of the stuff in this case.
I don't have the tools/skills for a jtag rewrite with pads so small, so I will find a service that will do it with proper hardware.
As I was just saying, I found some LG service technician (friend of a friend of a friend...etc), and he confirmed that they would only do full mobo change, and charge me with the price of the new piece, even though most of the time they use refurbished service replacements.
Oh, well.....I do smthg for ONE time without documenting....and look what I get.
Cheers,
Val

Even if this works, and it has been known to work, it will result in greatly diminished performance on the part of the phone. You'll probably want to get a different phone after recovering the data.

Depending where you bought it LG will repair it with proof of purchase.
I bought mine from ebay and purposely made it bootloop so LG cud replace motherboard.
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Hello, a few years ago I successfully rooted Mt LG G4 H811 (T-Mobile) and everything was fine, except for a strange issue of not being able to boot into TWRP except by performing a button assisted hard reset. Then one day, as the old thing was grumbling through its routine, the signing remained. I then pulled the battery and permanently ceased it to function at all. Until this very night, more than two years later. I decided for gits & shiggles to plug in the charger and lo! Out started to take a change. Sorta. I knew it wouldn't fully boot, do I did the ol pill the battery truck and boot to recovery manually. I made it to the factory reset screen and moved the cutie the the "yes" position, but the power button would not engage the reboot. I tried several times with no luck. In fact, its lying here beside me, mocking me with that "Select yes to delete" line.
Any ideas whatsoever??
Hi,
A week ago I was using my < 4 months old Zenfone 8 while traveling in Germany, and at 19% battery the screen turned black. I went back home, tried charging it for as long as possible, it was staying cold and never showed any sign of life.
So I opened a RMA on Asus Belgium website (as I am from Belgium), and shipped the phone to their repair center.
Today, I got an email from them, saying that the warranty wasn't covering the damage, and that I had to pay 500,28€ for a replacement of the motherboard.
When going into their OOW website, I saw this table :
Warranty start:2021-05-16Warranty end:2023-05-15Issue date:2021-09-13Receive date:2021-09-15Charge reason:OOWCustomer agree to quotation:Charge reason:OOW - Out of warranty ASUS Product Unlock Flag-oow scratched
It seems to me that the "unlock flag" is their bootloader unlock tool, that I had indeed used to root the phone before, and wanted to try a few custom ROM - which I actually never did since there were none at the time. Of course, this is completely unrelated to the issue, as it is not even rooted anymore and I basically did nothing with it.
As I am from the EU, I saw that there are laws that protect consumers from these types of abusive behaviors from companies, as explained here https://piana.eu/root/
I am therefore
1) looking for people who had this problem with their Zenfone 8 (what is it actually? never seen a brand new phone die like this)
2) looking for people who had their warranty denied for an unlocked bootloader in the EU, and what is possible to do
Thank you very much for your attention and for your help
There loads of people that has the same bricked state:
ZenFone8 stuck on waiting for flashing full ramdump
As requested by the mod - opening new discussion for the issue. The Flashing Full Ramdump happened to me too - the phone was being charged over the night and the error was waiting when I woke up. I hope that at least your service will fix it quickly.
zentalk.asus.com
I had it on my 1st ZF8, complety dead. Sent it for repair but ASUS refunded it.
2nd one seems resistent to this bug, rooted, flashed all kinds of roms etc, ended in ramdump state but can always boot to fastboot.

Yes, it was bootloader unlocked.
You can also check state when you plug it to computer, even with dark screen.

Yeah I tried it back when I had the phone (since it’s now hostage at Asus) and nothing showed up in the device manager
So update: After a bit of back and forth emailing, I finally got an answer: « Im really sorry but our answer will not change. By using the unlock tool you have agreed that the warranty will be dropped, no matter what problem you are experiencing and regardless of how the problem arose. »
So basically they openly agree that they are scamming me of 500€ after selling me a faulty device, but thanks to an abusive clause, they think they can do it.
Great customer service, always a pleasure to give business to such a great company as Asus… I’ll get my lawyer involved now, anyone who has advices on the legal process in the EU is very welcome.

We are basically all held in suspense wondering if our phones will die or not. Personally, I have a second phone (Xperia z5 premium) that is fully set up and I can easily switch in case of problems, but it is still not a nice feeling
Possible battery failure. Inspect.
I dont think its battery fail, seems more likely that storage or RAM gets corrupt, the 1st state is
"waiting for flashing full ramdump". I have this state on my 2nd zf8 but can always reboot to fastboot. That was not the case on the first unit

I haven't found the cause. My phone is working normally.
However people on Zentalk forums which have sent their phones for repair have reported that the service report has information that motherboard was replaced. I can't confirm or deny this

What type of zenfone did you have?
I am wondering whether only 256GB phones have this issue

Was the 128GB model for me, we still don’t know what the issue is.
If I can’t get the phone fixed the legal way I think I’ll pay the 60€ to get it back unrepaired (because yes, I have to pay for that) and open it myself to try and find the issue. Maybe I’ll be more competent than their lame service at identifying the issue

Oh man I feel sorry for you. In Germany, they'd have to prove it was not their fault in the first 6 month after buying

I know, it’s the exact same law here in Belgium but they don’t care…
