No.
Did you buy it ?
The metal body of the One seems to make an external FM antenna mandatory.
If you're going to stick an antenna on your phone other than the headset, you might as well go the classic all metal with expandable length to get the best signal, not some little plasticky thingy.

A 3-4 foot metal rod sticking out of a pocket is un-wieldy, and could cause considerable amounts of eye, crotch and other poking, to other people at least.

Would be nice when using BT headset for FM.
Does the stock ROM even support FM over BT ? I quickly flashed CM and didn't think of testing the stock ROM for this.

So I was sitting at home thinking how cool it would be to use my Nexus 7 as a navigation unit / general multimedia device in my car. I already have a touch screen unit in my car from Pioneer, but it’s not that great. It’s very pixelated, it doesn’t have navigation and it’s a bit small. So I devised a plan on how to mount it in my car. But before building my final mounting bracket, I decided to give it a test run, to make sure that everything would work great. I have all the maps preloaded on the device, and I have it connected to my Galaxy S3 (rooted, custom ROM) for wifi tethering.
I just picked up some “Kwik Klips 3/8” 10mm” from my local hardware store, and cut them up and guess what – it mounted fantastic. Three clips hold it on the bottom, and at the top it is tucked under my stereo door cover to make it very sturdy. I went on a 30 mile trip today just to make sure everything is smooth – and it is. This weekend my parts are supposed to come in so I can have a concealed charging cable for it so it is not using battery.
My car is a 2010 Scion tC.
I’ve uploaded four pics here, but go to my dropbox to see the gallery.

I keep my N7 tethered to my EVO during the day. That's how I use mine for navigation. I use the satellite layer also as I can't stand the 'cartoon' look.

Cool. That's what I figured. I tried to grab a N4 to do the same thing (in the process of rehabilitating from the apple cult), but couldn't get one, so I'm still using the iphone (no tether without paying extra).
Yes I am using my GS3 as a mobile WiFi hotspot for free (custom ROM).
I haven't tried the satellite view yet, I don't mind the cartoonish view too much. But overall using the N7 as a navi has been fantastic.

You might want to try Bluetooth internet sharing. Its honestly the most underrated feature of android >4.0. Sure, the range is 10-20ft, and the speed is limited to 2mbs, but in a car and for navigation apps neither of those matter. You save a lot of battery though and its easy to set up by just tapping a button on your tablet only.

Bluetooth internet sharing is definitely not the ultimate solution. Many apps won't work with it. Prime examples: Pandora and TuneIn Radio. Also, nothing will download from the Play Store (at least apps).
You'll save a lot of battery on the phone, sure. When I was trying out bluetooth tether my N7 got prettyy hot, and was fine with Wifi sharing. Perhaps it was simply an app causing that, but I don't think so.
I just removed the radio cover, and placed the N7 in the hole.
...and since I'm still a noob:
Code:

i49.tinypic.com/29du2cl.jpg
I'd do this, but I don't want to have my radio constantly in view at night. One of our cars was broken into and now I don't leave anything in view.

I'm still rocking the stock head unit; no one wants that.
I thought about trimming the extra plastic off the cover (just enough to fit) and set it back in place when I parked the car.
Depends on the Bluetooth setup. If you are not using Bluetooth to stream the sound, uncheck it in the Pandora settings and Pandora works great.
I download apps all day long using Bluetooth for my data. I find it easier then dealing with a hotspot. Battery life is significantly better for me to.

Does BT support multiple simultaneous pairings? I usually have my phone tied to the car via BT. If it can do that and data share, that'd be awesome. Well, maybe. Not sure if it'd help, but it'd be nice to know.

If you were talking to me, yeah I did get the charging cable installed, and no I didn't have to rough it up at all. The tape that was with those clips was sufficient.
But now I took that all off. I just bought this iBolt windshield mount for my GS3. It's easier for me this way, because I don't have to setup tethering and charge two devices.
It was fun though while it lasted.
And it blocked my radio, so that got really annoying after a few days of not being able to switch XM channels.
Anybody got any information about the FM Radio feature particularly in UK.
Like to use this occasionally with my Desire HD but it only works with headphones that were originally supplied which I have usually mislaid within the first fortnight.
My pre-order is still awaiting delivery so can anybody tell me if the HTC One uses the headphone cable as the aerial or will it work through the speakers without headphones.
Thanks in advance.

Oh well, I'll just have to take better care of the headphones, perhaps the red buds will stop them disappearing into my mass of cables everywhere!
1st it's not possible without headphones(although we could mod it to allow it to run without headphones) but still you won't get any reception at all as it acts as the antenna.
2nd it works on any headphones it doesn't have to be the original supplied headphones in fact even just cheap headphones work.

Make sure you switch NFC off if you use the FM radio. The NFC seems to interfere with the radio and you hear this strange white noise interference every second.
One my one x i took an old set of headphones, cut off the jack part leaving a bit of wire at the end for reception and used that to listen to the radio thru the speakers....

any" noise disturbance"? like some kind of static sound or white noise? The wire which acts as a antenna is cut off, which means the antenna might be broken to receive reception. might try on a cheap earpiece

Wow so uhm... Cutting a wire that acts like an antenna now defys physics huh?
And what if I could prove that FM Radio works when I snip the wires of my headphone and connect it on my phone and make it recieve data from radio stations? Does that make me the same rank as Mr. Heinrich Hertz since I defied one of his theories/discoveries?
Hi!
Got another query about FM radio on the H1. Does Beats work with the FM radio? I have it activated in settings but I don't get the icon in the status field when listening. And if i toggle beats on/off while listening to FM I cannot hear any difference.
So it seems as if Beats is not working with FM.

Looking for a good BT headset. I don't use them much, but am moving to a place that prohibits holding my phone in the car. My primary criteria is good voice functionality. I'd like to be able to do as much as possible without touching the phone, and preferably without touching the earpiece. Call quality should be good, but doesn't have to be best in class or anything. Mono is fine. Keep in mind that I have a very full beard, so the headset can't depend on facial contact.
I've been poring over reviews and just can't make any sense of them, so I thought I'd ask. (Motorola CommandOne seems a decent buy)
Thanks!

Thanks, I had read Vectron's review but decided it seemed more music oriented than call oriented. I'll revisit that.
Edit: Ok, now I remember the problems. It's a beard thing. On me, the mic and controls will sit under my beard. That will make it difficult to use and will probably severely diminish call quality. Darn, looks like a good one, but not worth shaving for.
Didn't have a chance to review this one yet (next to impossible to get review samples), but I heard good things about it and control remote is far away to keep it from your beard http://www.amazon.com/In-Ear-Noise-...UTF8&qid=1366911775&sr=8-1&keywords=a.m.p+iso

I wonder about mic placement on that. I *think* it's in the control unit and is meant to be clipped to your shirt. If so, that means the mic is going to be sitting down on my belly. Maybe too far away? I think I may need to stick with one of the mono units. Jawbone is out due to needing skin contact if I've understood their tech correctly.

After going through a bunch of headsets ( here in Hawaii, cell use while driving is illegal) I found it easier to spend $170 bucks to buy a Kenwood excelon deck with integrated bluetooth. It automatically activated when the car is started.

I do wish they could also use the USB plug as an antenna. We have awesome speakers why put headphones in.
Heck I could do without a headphone jack at all and have a small headphone to micro usb adapter. This would allow better speaker docks like ipods/phones/pad/maxipad/iPod mini/iPod nano. Etc... I know MHL works great for video/audio but I think it is a combined all or none. Would be nice to just take the audio from there.

You ever consider using Tune-In to pull in your locale channels via WIFI/cellular data connection? That is how I get my local channels, and others that are too far away. Search for Tune-In in the apps store, it is free.
