home button bug? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Has anybody had any issues with the home button? I've noticed that when i'm holding the phone, the home button works perfectly. But when its on a flat surface, the home button doesn't work.

Black screen

installed htc home customizer and once i figured it out, i hit the power button to put it into sleep mode, it the button again and nothing, no screen nothing, held the button down and the phone wouldnt power off, had to stick the stylus in the rest hole and now it works fine. anybody else have or heard of the same problem?

Change power button toa different one?

I was wondering if there was a way to re-map the power button to the OK button so when i want to turn on my x1 screen instead of pressing the power button i press the Ok button or maybe another button?
would this be possible? thanks,
Not sure about the re-mapping, but there's a setting under settings>system>key lock that lets you wake up the device by pressing any hardware key.
I need this too!
Have you tried with one of the several button/key mapping tools available?
Did you tried long pressing end call button? Mine locks screen...
Cheers!
Edit: Try AE Button Plus to map your keys.

Lock Widget

Can anybody recommend an app what puts a lock icon widget on the homescreen? My case don't allow to press power button, and button savior is too confusing for my mother.

Howdy, pardners!
I on the other hand wonder, whether there is possibility to disable onscreen lock - my back button is hardly reachable so i am not worried that it will get pressed. Sliding the screen everytime i just what to know the time or what ever is however quite annoying. Any chance to disable only touch screen, no screensaver - just Laucher home screen with clock, calendar..., unlocking with back button or quick some combination of others?
Would be magical !

In regards to the first post: have you looked in nook touch tools? There may be a way to set one of the side buttons as the power button, therefore locking it.
Good luck!
I dont know if anyone has it too but:
Go to button savior, check the box that says android recent task.(just bottom of the first page).
And everytime that i press the n button long, it goes to lockscreen. i dont know why. Also long pressing the home button on the button saviour does the same thing too.
The power button and the "n" button go to different electrical sections than the four hard side buttons
The two buttons go to dedicated input pins, the four buttons are part of a scanning matrix.
Although it might be possible to statically enable the whole matrix so that you could detect a button push without scanning (while asleep)
it seems that they would have not handled the buttons separately if that were the case.
In short, any button can be assigned to power and put the Nook to sleep.
Although I'm not sure if any button would be able to wake it?

[Q] Home button triggers when touching back of the phone!!

Hi guys,
I got this very irritating problem. My ace randomly triggers home button (it minimizes apps when I am in one or triggers list of apps (in Jelly bean 4.2.2). I am pretty sure its not ROM related. When I press on battery cover (in the part that corresponds with the home button area, but on the back side of the phone), then the home button is triggerd just like I was pressing the home button, even if I am not. Does someone has the same problem? Will the replacement of the 2 year back cover (which was many times taken out because of battery and now its ) help or its HW problem somehow? Can someone please test it?
1. Take the battery cover out
2. Press sligtly with your finger on the plastic part that is on the other side of home button
3. See if the home button function is triggered like you were actually pressing the home button on the display side (even if ur not).
4. Repeat the steps 1-3 with your battery cover on (press on battery cover in the same area
Thanks for the tips and feedback.
