I know there seems to be a lot that like blinkfeed, but I don't really care for it. I also like sense 5 so don't wanna get rid of it.
Been searching for file names or anything to get rid of it. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas.
Thanks
It's built into sense 5. You won't be able to take it out unless some bad a dev edits sense 5 or an aosp Rom comes out

Ya that's what I figured, even to get it off the panels would be cool.

So i think one of my only gripes about the captivate right now is its inclusion of the twiz junk. I feel like the SMS app looks like it crawled out of a cartoon.
Ive searched around and am running axuras froyo right now, but does anyone know a way to get AOSP sms on the cap? Id rather not use handcent.
I dont care if its a theme or a rom. Whatever it takes.

replicate screen snapshot lock screen
love the theme just flashed it. However i have a question and im sorry if this is a really bad rookie question, but anyway. On your lock screen i see your clock and how you have the date in words rather than numbers. How do you enable that setting, i would love to have my lock screen identical to that in your screen shot. please let me know. And great work on the theme thanks

Just snag an aosp mms.apk and drop it in /system/app/

That's awesome! Maybe we can port some HTC apps to AOSP, like their camera
Good to know that they're removing their heads from their asses.
This is actually huge. The ability to pull from sense will open so many doors.
I can see a beautiful cyanasense coming and that really tickles my pickles
From what I read on the Engadget article about this, it sounds like it's geared towards app development to compliment/integrate with the Sense environment. The developers will get access to the APIs and whatnot, but I don't think they're open sourcing Sense as a whole, but I may have missed something in my skimming.
Edit: Yup, I was right. Here's the article if anybody wants more details. http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/03/htc-announces-opensense-sdk-and-htcdev-offers-paradise-inside-i/

I saw this yesterday and was really excited, then I realized the same thing that you do. Either way its still good that theyre opening it to the community.
That's a bummer
It seems like they just want developers making apps that tie exclusively into the Sense environment. Not a great idea in my opinion. If only Sense didn't drag the phone to a crawl, I'd like it a lot more!
Why on earth would a developer want to limit their creations to those on sense based phones?
Am I missing something here?

I think it's to integrate apps directly into the Sense environment. For people who like Sense a lot (3.0 is real awesome, just saying), its a good move.

And there's most definitely going to be new apis for enhancing/optimizing apps for senseui.
Bummer. I should have known when they said SDK it was only for app development.
It stinks they're keeping Sense locked down, but I still think this is cool. If the corresponding just onto e bandwagon they could just have it somehow check for Sense, and if so adjust itself to enable extra functionality. Sounds cool to me... might even pull me back towards sense.
Tapatalk Pro Sig. Yep, boring.
I know there are a load of requests building...
One in particular I cant help but mention is the lg messaging and contacts, phone, dialer, and the calander apps are annoying...
I know that there are alternative apps in the market but I was hiping for the legit google stock apps if possible...
I guess what im asking is whether somebody wants to cook them into a thrill rom...
Or if anybody knkws how to replace the lg ui ones with the regular android ones... any way at all. Would be awesome...

i want to try editing the apk's themselves and retheming them... but i havent any tools to edit the xml in them yet.. so i can change things like font colors.... so i would rather replace them with the tried and true original GAPPS...
I plan on theming these apps in my rom. Just haven't got around to it yet.
You do it through editing their individual apk's?
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA Premium App
I actually like the thrill dialer better than the gapps one, but everything else is MUCH better as gapps.

In this case, yes. In stock Android many parts of these apps are themed by editing system wide images in framework, but unfortunately most of LG's apps are self contained in regards to the themes. I have already themed most of the framework in my ROM yet not much within LG's apps like the calendar, phone, dialer, etc. has changed. I will have to go through each app one by one and theme them. You could try pulling AOSP variants of Calendar and Mms to replace the LG apps, but there will likely be some bugs. You definitely can't just replace the phone and dialer apps because those are heavily integrated with the system.
Yeah I figured... I dont know how your planning on theming them to match your rom... But im gonna theme em to try and match aosp... As best as possible... Gonna take some time... Haha... Theming is so time draining... Haha

Tell me about it. Theming takes forever. Especially if you want to make it look good.
my reputation... Or whatever is left of it came from the windows mobile days... I skinned any program with the resources or xml... I got very good at having an eye for what looks good... But like you said once you know what looks good... To take your time and make it happen... Takes hourz of work... I dont think ppl realize what a drain of time it is... They just make requests... After requests and wonder why they aren t released yet... Lol...
Anywho... Tryin to start building a rep for android theming now that I have a real android device... Haha need to get eclipse to do xml though...

It seems dead :/ I'm just trying to find a different laughed I have been using adw and I just need things to change up :/

that's really too bad....as this was getting developed there really wasn't anything else in the way of launcher replacements. i forget what i was using before this but nothing else compared to what this could do...at the time at least, lol. kinda thought the extra screens up and down would've caught on too. oh well
As a long time lover of Aosp (since froyo on my old cappy) I really miss it, the problem is I've fallen in love with sense 5. That's all I really care about in sense roms though. So I was wandering if it's possible to port the sense launcher to a gpe rom. Is it possible?
Sent from my HTC One
i think that would require loads of work but im not 100 % on that
Yeah its probably possible with tons of work, but I doubt anyone would take a lot of interest in porting it since honestly it's nothing special of a launcher and it's rather stale in features. Anyways, why do you want the sense 5 launcher over something like nova launcher or action launcher pro?

Blinkfeed. It's perfect for when you're sitting around with nothing to do. I've become quite attached to it.

I guess that's understandable. I settled for Feely though since it's amazingly designed and I can customize it by websites I want easily. Still waiting for new widgets from them though.
