Something really gone wrong for me here and have a feeling I have a brick.
1. Flashed ROCKET ROM-V19-XXLA4 from external sd using CWM.
2. Flash was confirmed rebooted.
3. Got Bootloop (Rocket Logo)
4. Could boot into download mode but PC not seeing device.
5. Removed battery for over 1 min.
6. Still no difference, the device just cant be seen. Even after reinstalling the drivers. via Kies trouble shooting.
Anyone have any ideas??

I had the same problem today, but it worked when i did this:
- Volume down + Home + Power
- Do not press continue yet
- Open Odin
- Connect it to the computer
- Choose Continue on the Note
Now the computer should install two new drivers (modem and another one), and then the phone will pop up on the computer.
Odin is seeing :- 0:[COM4]
Thanks so much really thought I'd bricked it. Forgot all about Odin A Beer and a thanks to you both.
Just a note, not sure what went wrong but I had to flash a full stock ROM including the Modem, Code and Multi to get it working again.

2nd attempt took all of 5 - 6 mins with no issues at all
This WAS the situation before the problems:
Rooted Gingerbread rom, all working fine. Decided to unroot and install the full version of the official German ICS rom by using PC Odin. All went fine and used my Note for over two days. Because of the lags en slow responses I decided to reflash the ICS rom. From that moment on I messed it up. I've been reading and searching hundreds of posts for almost a day but didn't find a solution.
This IS the current situation:
I can get into download mode
I can get in recovery mode
However, in recovery mode I can not install a rom, every flash (CWM, both ICS and GB - even using chainfire's rom needed for rooting) stops on a random moment...but never gets it to the end, even if I wait several hours. Installing is very...very....very slow.
In recovery mode i can not restore a Nandroid backup, both ICS and GB. Every backup stops when /system has te be installed. errormessage.
In download mode I can connect my Note to PC Odin. I can select a rom and start flashing. However, after appr. 80% installation halts during "nand write start", no error message. The flashing does not finish, even after hours.
Funny is, i can install a kernel like Abyss.
So, I can't restore, i can't flash using cwm in recovery and I can't flash using PC Odin. My device seems not fully bricked. The max I get when rebooting (knowing that the process has not finished) is the triangle screen.
Any advise is appreciated.
Do not flash thru CWM... Flash a good GB kernel like "franco.Kernel" but thru PC Odin then u can flash whatever u want from franco's CWM... Good luck
Don't need help anymore
Note is officially bricked. After several attempts to recover from a softbrick the screen of my Note didn't turn on anymore. No button or button combination works, no recovery and no download mode, just a black screen.

Flat battery? It's also possible that it's just the screen that's not working. Try entering download mode "blind". So hold power+home+vol down for ~10 seconds, then press vol up. Hook it up via usb and see if Odin can recognize it.
Thanks, didn't think of that. But unfortunately no response from the device.
So now that it looks like your phone is officially bricked, I think you should just take it to Samsung and make up a story. Like you were updating your software with Kies and something happened and the phone is just not booting up.
I am sorry you bricked your note though..
try AMORA Filemanager.. flash via recovery and you have a file manager,,, take a look on your partitions
just my idea, you got nothing to lose

I would like to but it's very hard when you can't see anything on the screen...
Maybe it's just the battery, try to charge it externally and try a JIG also

Just a quick, final, update.
My Note was superbricked. Had to send it to a Samsung Service Center. No additional questions were asked. Samsung replaced the mainboard. Didn't have to pay anything.
Great service!!!
try this out buddy, do it on your own risk!!! anyways you have messed it up.

i was not a member when i commited this mistake. but then big thanks to this community it helped me back from softbrick.
first you do is install a stock kernel of ics on your note go into recovery and just clear cache partition, thats it no wipe/data factory reset.
then,
install the pit file from this thread, also read it completely before proceeding. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1667886 , hoping yours is 16gb version and also read this thread for additional info but its quite complicated for me so im just telling you the direct method and hopefully itll get your note back to work. so once you download the 16gb pit file unzip it and in the unzip folder you will find a separately lying pit of 16gb stating patched-standard thats the one you want.
then,
goto samfirmware and download the latest ics firmware(i downloaded the indian one as it is in file .tar),
unzip it till you get .tar file.
open odin- click pit-select 16gb patched standard pit- check wether repartion is ticked- click pda-select the .tar file you extracted connect your phone and start. this time i wont stop at factory.fs.....
NOTE THAT AFTER THIS PROCEDURE IS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE WOULD BE ONLY 8GB INSTEAD OF 11 GB STOCK WHICH YOU WERE GETTING.
I REVIVED MY NOTE THROUGH THIS PROCEDURE. PROCEES AT YOUR OWN RISK.
one your phone is working you'll be able to reset the counter with a jig and get your phone under warranty and get your motherboard changed by teliing at the Samsung Service that you are getting only 8gb instead of 11gb you used to get earlier(warranty only if you had any).
hope this helps mate.
BEST OF LUCK!!
A BIG HUGE THANKS TO hg42.....
Hi Guys.
Got an I9305 here, I rooted it (apparently fine), then (via recovery) flashed a cusom ROM, rebooted but it stayed on the I9305 screen. Now I can't get to recovery, it will go to download but I can detect it via heimdall, and it still wont boot. Have I killed it or is there anything I can do to resurect it? I've been searching the forums here for ages, but I'm just going in circles with getting any closer to a solution.
Ideas?

If you can get download mode then try flashing a stock ROM via Odin.
You're still in luck when you have download mode, when you don't have that or recovery then you start worrying.
PS: don't forget you have a I9305 when searching for a stock ROM.

I can get to download (the only place I can get), but neither Odin or Heimdall will connect to it, they both just sit there as if the phone isn't plugged in.

Then you don't have the correct drivers installed
Have you used Odin/Heimdall before?

OK got it connect now, I've used Heimdall several times on my I9300 without problem so I think it's a hardware problem. I flashed a new recovery and can now get to that when needed but it still wont let me boot any ROMs I flash, it just hangs at the I9305 screen. Is there anyway I can reset the custom binary count from Heimdall/Odin or recovery so I can send it back to get replaced/fixed?
Try this before doing anything drastic, It's stock but rooted but do it through Odin.

These roms you've been flashing, do they contain a kernel? Hanging on boot screen can be indicative of a couple of things, firstly, if you have the wrong kernel, fix that. Secondly, try clearing data and cache, this can work wonders. Thirdly, if ADB is currently enabled, try bringing up a shell through it ("adb shell", note: not in recovery obviously, as this mode is already working fine) and type "dmesg", this will print out what the kernel is currently doing, usually if something is erroring you will see the same text re-appear multiple times. If the kernel initiation gets stuck in a loop it will literally never get out of it so that would be a good way to see that, could be a piece of hardware is damaged. Since you can get to recovery I reckon you should be able to mount system/data in that and enable ADB in android if it isn't already, I don't know how to do this though.
Good luck!
Something that's helped me before in this situation was:
Go to mounts and storage in recovery and format System, Data and Internal storage.
Then download stock firmware and Flash via Odin.
This pretty much wipes your phone of everything and gives you a fresh install
You have to wipe data after flashing a ROM
Hi Guys,
I tried flashing a stock ROM via Heimdall again, and this time it worked. The phone is still very flacky though, so I'm convinced it's a hardware issue. Managed to triangle away and get everything stock, so they should never know when I send it back for replacement ;^>
Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Hi Team XDA,
I am facing issues with my GT-N7000
1. I was running on Slim saber 4.4.4 with TWRP
2. I flashed CWM 6.0.4.5 in TWRP and after restart my phone went in to Bootloop.
3. Then I restarted my phone on Download mode and flashed Stock Rom 4.1.2 from Sam Mobile on my GT-N7000 using Odin
4. It Stuck on Samsung logo again
5. I was trying to boot recovery mode but it was not booting (to wipe Data/Cache/Dalvik Cache)
6. I am able to start phone in Download Mode only and not Recovery mode. (using Hardware Keys)
Can anyone help me out coming out of this. I still believe if i can wipe my data/Dalvik/System Cache using ODIN my phone will start.

kinda strange issue,
usually if you've already flashed the original Samsung firmware, it will come together with "built-in" recovery which "possible" to be access in any circumstances,
hmmm, try to do odin again, with different frimware version from different country (I also didn't use my own country firmware) :silly:
by default, try to disable "auto-reboot" option on the odin,
once you've complete flashed the firmware, try to remove the battery for moment, and boot into recovery,
should be working
give it a try, I used to do it in my S Plus, :silly:

hmm, strange, however I did do some research for this kind of issues,
and most of my finding stated it might to do with hardware issues (case where unable to boot normally, only download mode),
however, I do believe you can try with older version of firmware (probably last year?)
and try disable "auto-reboot" on the odin,
upon odin stated "reset" quickly pull out the battery (providing the screen is completely closed/off)
and try to reboot into recovery mode by it combinational keys, "volume up + home + power" (hold it a bit longer till samsung logo disappear) :silly:
I've even try to soft-bricked my S Plus, and try this one, seems I can boot both normally and recovery (to do wipe)
Hi,
My Note5 N920C is currently softbricked. It occurred during the rooting process, where Odin crashed as i was flashing a kernel and rendered my phone virtually useless. When the phone turns on, it goes immediately to a blue screen with a message telling me to use the "Emergency Recovery feature on Smart Switch." Smart Switch when ran on my PC would not recognise the phone, so that option is out of the question.
The phone from this screen can be put into the TWRP recovery mode too, but as the Note5 has no MicroSD slot, this is not that useful. It can also enter download mode, which is where i think the solution could lie. Would i be able to flash onto the phone using Odin and the download mode, or would that not work/make things worse?
Any ideas welcome,
Cheers,
James

Enter Download mode and flash your official variant firmware. Since this is result of an Odin crash it MUST be a full official firmware so you can be sure all your partitions are correctly flashed, bl,sbl,cp, etc...

That's great news! If you want to root again i recommend flashing supersu in odin (to allow boot of Twrp) then Twrp in Odin, Reboot Twrp then BACKUP, then do your wipes and flash Rom of choice (please already have downloaded it to internal storage! Lol) according to the rom devs Instructions...
