[Q] Missing camera after installing cyanogenmod nightly - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After installing a newer nightly of cynogenmod on my SGS the camera app has gone.
When I download an other camera app from the store, this works fine.
The camera from the android OS has gone.
Any ideas how I can fix this, reinstall or etc. ?
Thanks

I will try it, thanks.

I have seen I had disabled the gallery app.
Didn't know that the camera is depending on the gallery app.
Now it works fine again after enabling the gallery app.

thanks bro, how do you remove the default camera software because it wont allow me to get rid of it, plus the file i downloaded from you wont install over the default file! My camera is weird though, the rear camera doesnt show anything, but when i change camera to the front camera, it actually projects the image! Do you think, maybe the camera is laters? Thanks alot!
I got camera problems with some Ginger Roms here such like CM7, MIUI ... So I'm waiting their fixes ...

Slim bean camera stopped working after pressing front camera

Hi,
I have installed slimbean on my captivate. my camera app works fine but I mistakenly pressed front camera button in camera app and now everytime I start that app it gives me error that "unfortunately, gallery has stopped" error. I restarted many time and even cleared cache from media storage app and restarted but nothing helped.
I even did factory reset and my camera started working again but same problem after I mistakenly touch that button again. is there any solution out there?
thanks,
Samsu
Just go into Manage Applications under Settings and find the Camera app and select Clear data, Force stop. Back out to Home and u should be good.

that is another thing. I don't see camera app under manage app (under any tab). isn't it strange?
May be intergrated into the Gallery as it is in AoCP Jellybean CP3 Rom by the Collective. So just find the Gallery app and Only Force stop it.
That is probably why it says "unfortunately, gallery has stopped."
Let us know if that works to fix the prob. Thx

Captivate Slimbeam camera/gallery problem
Hello, did some searching first and tried all the solutions I could find but still can't seem to get this one to work:
I have an AT&T Samsung Captivate (i897) running Slimbean 2.9. When I first put slimbean on it (2.8) about 1 out of every 3 times that I tired to open the camera I got the "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped" error message. It was annoying but I would just try it again and it would work the next time. Over the weekend I upgraded to 2.9 and now I get the message every time without fail.
Here's what I've tried (based on solutions in this thread and others):
Bigmem under Sephamore Manager is not checked.
Tried clearing gallery data, force stop and rebooted.
Reinstalled gapps (2.8, didn't see a 2.9).
None of these solutions helped. Anybody have any other ideas I should try?
I had the same problem. Try going into manage apps and delete the data (not just the cache) and the camera should start working again.

Thanks for the reply. I did try that, I just tried it again for giggles and it still didn't help. I do have two galleries listed for some reason though....

Did you ever resolve this issue with your camera? I have tried everything that my limited experience can think of, including replacing the camera, but no luck.
FC's
The one thing that I keep having trouble with this ROM is the Slim File Manager. It FC's after a couple of hours after flashing. Any of you guys having any problems with the file manager?

Clear it's data/cache and it should be fine.

[Q] No Camera App Galaxy Si9000

I recently installed [ROM][4.1.1]Slim Bean (I9000) on my phone. But I don't have a camera app installed. I tried to install Face Unlock, but it doesn't install a camera app.
I tried to download a Camera.apk but it gives the error, app not installed.
Could somebody help me?

Photosphere will absolutely not work on the Galaxy S models because they lacks a gyroscope. You'll have to buy a new phone if you want that feature. You can change the phone model in your build.prop, it'll run but it will not work correctly.

Do a full wipe and then flash the nightly or just wipe the cache and dalvik cache and then flash the nightly .. try both the methods or you can wait for another nightly..

Download and flash the 15/09 nightly it has the issue fixed.
OR
Substitute this libs on system/lib and reboot the phone. The camera will work after this.
Note: I took this file from Vicenzo, it works.
