To answer your question, I need:
1. Phone model
2. Android version
3. A more detailed description of what it is you want to do...
What line do you want where?
Without this info I can't help you.

Ok, you'll want to use google or xda search to find an apk decryption tool (apktool). You'll need to learn to use this program to decrypt and modify the theme apk. Once you've done that, you'll need to find the string (inside an xml file) within each apk which themes the pop up and modify accordingly. Then repack the apk.
These instructions ignore the possibility that you'll encounter errors with your specific apk. You can pm me if you have any issues.

screen off and lock

good morning. i love petes BB. but since 4.0.4 i can not use any screen off and lock app.... now i see, pixelrom 1.7.1 have an "notification based lockscreen". a little button to turn off the screen in the statusbar...and it works perfect.
is there any way to take this to BB?
Im having the same problem. What i did is to turn off my lockscreen in the security/lockscren to make the widget works without waking after locking the device yet i lose my lockscreen. But u can choose 3rd party lockscreen like widget locker if u wish.

It is safe to delete the apk you stated, syncmldm, snyncmlds, wssyncmlnps. After you delete these, the Software Update data will not be generated after reboot. Battery life will be better. I suggest you backup the apk first or just freeze it just in case you need it next time.

Rom software update. But I highly recommend you to stay with xda roms because they will give you more battery life, performance and so on. Try this link if there are still some stock apps which you want to uninstall. https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...1gdDJRekl4QmkyNmIzUmRvX2h3UDVkQXc&output=html

[GUIDE] Restore your original MAC address after installing custom rom

Hello everyone, this is my first post here.
I signed up because i wanted to share how i solved the MAC address question. Simply, after flashing a custom rom, the phone gets the developers MAC. How to solve this?
First of all, you'll need an Hex editor. Install it and give it root access.
Before disabling wifi, take note of you new mac address.
There are 4 files in /data/etc called wlan_maccaddr0, wlan_maccaddr1, wlan_maccaddr2, wlan_maccaddr3. Take note of these addresses.
Then open /etc/firmware/wlan/prima/WCNSS_1com_wlan_nv.bin with your hex editor. (Backup before editing!)
You will probably have something like that.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You will see the new mac address repeated four times. you must substitute each address with the one you read in step 3.
Note that they differ only for the last character. (remember: two numbers is a character)
End up with something like that.
That should do the trick. Reboot and rejoice
Please don't be harsh to me, it's only my way to introduce myself
Happy hacking

Already tried that, it didn't work, at least for me! I'm currently using a Sony Xperia T with cyanogenmod 10.1
Yes you're right that fix only seems to work on stock based ROMs. I'm running omni now and didn't realise it before but facing the same issue. Not a real problem for me personally but thanks for this fix.

Works fine with CM 10.1 on Xperia V. Thanks a lot!
It doesnt work in V (flashed FXP250).
Once saved the file and re-opened it or reboot , all changes lost...

I am not sure why I failed...
but now I use ES File explorer with root, locate that .bin file, open it using HEX editor, save. And succeed....
But I now use CM10.2 rather than FXP250
The folder /data/etc doesn't exists on my Xperia V...
I have the KitKat 4.4.4 OmniRom installed.
What can i do?

Samsung "Stock White" IME Keyboard

Does anyone remember when the stock Samsung Keyboard had white (or at least lighter grey) keys?

In a recent-ish update to the Stock Samsung Keyboard, the keys were changed from the lighter shades above to the "Dark" theme that we have now.
I just rooted my device today and I'm really searching, looking for the lighter themed keyboard APK that will work for my phone.
In a search of all the XDA forums I found some APK and ODEX files from an S4 thread. I tried those using RootExplorer, but they did not work for my AT&T Note 3.
I know that there are apps out there (SwiftKey / Swype/ etc) that allow user to change theme settings. I've tried all of those keyboards and keep coming back the the stock Sammy keyboard. Does anyone have APKs for the old keyboard that they wouldn't mind sharing?
Any help, tips, or advice that you could share would be great.
Thank you.
Try this one.. https://db.tt/duv3VVO8 push to system/app and change permissions and reboot!

I'm assuming permissions are the typicall "rwrr, right?

Any other tips or hints?
Im really interested to know if this can be done. Any progress on this from the OP?

Dude... Seriously? Did you really start ANOTHER thread about this?
If you want to fix it decompile secsettings.apk
Look for the smali that should be something like about_device.smali or something like that.
Open it in notepad++
Find .method oncreate
Scroll down to the first 0x7 hex
Then look in res>values>public.XML
Find the xml reference to the same smali file should be about_device or about_phone.xml or something like that.
Copy the hex code
Replace the code in the smali file with the one you copied from public.xml
Save and recompile
Sign the apk with test keys or old signature
Copy to system/app
Set permissions 0644
Wipe cache/dalvik
Reboot
Profit?
And then never make another thread about this again
