Can't seem to get any vibration on keypress though I've turned the setting off and on several times. Anyone have any ideas?
Do you have Power Saving Mode turned on?
Yes. Is that it?

yep, you got it. Power save mode disables haptic feedback when entering normal text input, however passwords still have haptic feedback present.
I'm experiencing the same issue...
Already off my Power save mode but the haptic feedback still did not return.
It will return once in a while.. but I do not know what triggered it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Same problem here. No vibration at all. Turned on and off every setting I can find and nothing.

I think this is same issue which occur in TW ROM before and HTC fix the back key and Home key sensitivity in latest OTA. I think we can wait for the later OTA for SW fix:laugh:

This just happened yesterday after I used the camera and went through the gallery for a little bit. My power button doesn't lock/turn off the screen anymore, unless the lock screen is the one displayed. It still does all of its other functions properly - just doesn't lock and turn off the screen when I press it if I'm in an app or on the home screen. Anyone have any idea what happened and how it can be fixed??
It's a pain right now to have to wait for the screen to automatically turn off, so any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
I don't have any suggestions for a fix, but if you can't figure anything out, there's a workaround. Get one of the widgets from the market that locks your screen... not the best solution but better than nothing.

I ended up resorting to flashing a ROM all over again.
If you have Spare Parts installed, its the reason... Go to Spare Parts/End button behavior and change it to "go to sleep"... i had the same issue today
And why is this in development?

Hi,
I recieved my new htc one yesterday after 2 months of waiting.
Now my vibrate does not work.
Does somebody know what to do?
Thanks.
from the netherlands
So if you turn the phone to vibrate mode, there's no vibration?
Dial this on your phone : *#*#3424#*#*
Hit accept
Tick vibrator test
Tap run
Results?

Did you enable Power saver? I think it disables vibration.

It disables haptic feedback when entering standard text and inputting usernames, but haptic is still active when passwords are entered in.

Hey, randomly- I can't really remember exactly when it happened but my capacitive keys no longer vibrate. Any where to check to ensure it's not a hardware problem? I'm not rooted or anything. I checked "Sounds" and "Vibrate on touch" is still checked. I toggled it a couple times and still nothing. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Any chance your power save mode was on?
What is your battery level? At a certain point (20%?, 15%?) the phone goes into power save mode, with disabling vibrate among the settings.

Probably this. Power save has an option for haptic feedback as well.

Ok, so i have an issue that i havent been able to find any information on. I woke up this morning, and noticed that when i pressed the back or menu button, there was no longer any kind of haptic feedback. The buttons functioned as they were supposed to, but didnt vibrate. I double checked the option for it, then disabled and re-enabled it. That didnt work, so i restarted the phone and it still didnt function.
I ended up doing a full restore and they began working. So, i haven't installed any apps or anything assuming maybe it was an app that caused the issue. I went pretty much all day and it was fine, i got home from work and all of the sudden it stopped functioning again. I just did another restore and its back. This seems more like a software issue as if it was hardware i wouldnt think the keys would work at all, and the haptic feedback works when using the keyboard and such. Has anyone else seen this issue?
BTW my phone is rooted, but i havent done anything else to it.
What was your battery level? If you have Power Saver turned on, it will turn off haptic feedback.

I was just gonna say the same thing. Power saving mode on all Samsung Galaxy devices turns off Haptic feedback completely. And if your a person who is used to haptic feedback it can feel weird when it's off. Pull down your status bar and make sure it's power saving mode is off.
I appreciate the suggestions, but this was on a completely full battery, it had charged all night. The second time it happened it was at about 65%.

Awesome! This fixed my haptic problem and weird screen dim and contrast issue. I guess PSM some how had gotten stuck on for me, although I was charged above the threshold.
It doesn't automatically turn off when you're charged. Annoying as hell.
You should change your thread title to solved.

No, I shouldn't. My problem isn't solved. I clearly stated that my issue hasn't been caused due to a battery issue. I've been fully charged. I've restarted. The only way I've been able to get it back is by a full restore. The issue occurred one more time over the weekend and it's irritating. I went to the store and they aren't wanting to help and telling me if I exchange it when they aren't seeing a problem I'll get charged the restock fee. I'll be calling support tonight I guess.

Did you turn off power saving mode after it turned itself on when your battery died down and was then recharged?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Mine was like you.
go to power saving menu and uncheck the heptic feedback check mark off.
BINGO!
years later, i've found a solution - haptic feedback intensity was turned all the way down, even with the checkbox marked, no haptic feedback is felt at that level.
how it got turned down to zero, i'll never know.
Settings > Sounds and Notifications > Vibration Intensity > Haptic Feedback Slider
...i almost warrantied my phone over this issue...
Hey so let me start off by saying that I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 but I had this problem. I was with a friend and ended up turning on my ultra power saving mode. After that my soft keys stopped lighting up and the haptic feedback stopped working as well. Something small, but extremely annoying. I couldn't find ANYTHING on the infinite labyrinth that is the Internet for some unknown reason and I was straining not to throw my phone out of the car.
However, I've just now been able to finally figure it out and so I'm hoping this post will help with that urge to snap you're smart phone. Anyways I remembered that before ultra power saving mode I had put it at the regular power saving mode. I tried turning UPSM on and off again, I restarted my phone countless times, anything else you can think of it tried. BUT what ended up finally working is turning power saving mode on, giving it a second, and then turning it off.
Hopefully that works for you too.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been trying to figure that out for so long. I wasn't sure because it happened on multiple roms. This time haptic feedback turns off with battery saver mode. I usually have power save on our phones don't lack performance on it. Wish I could enable haptic feedback with it on. This was the first result on Google. Thanks bro!

I have a similar problem. After I have replaced the Mainboard, the back key lose the vibration feedback. Only the back key.... Any ideas?
I switched on extreme power saving mode because I only had 6 percent battery life left and didn't have access to an outlet. Now that I do have it charging, it wont let me disable it. When I click exit it just says Please Wait (been like that for about 20 minutes). Any idea how to fix this?
I am completely stock and unrooted
I've tried shutting down and restarting

Only way i can think of is to reboot to bootloader and factory reset. Plug it in your computer to see if you can save your pics and stuff. If you went to a sprint store that is what they would do.
To get into bootloader power off device hold volume down and the power button. Click hboot then factory reset. That should do it.

Thanks for the response. After about an hour of trying any and everything to get it working I was able to find a way into the power save settings and disable it from there. Not really sure what happened

I was able to get mine greyed out by going into Developer Options and checking the High Performance Mode option. Maybe yours is checked?

I'm having the same issue, it's been over an hour stuck like this. I went in through the phone to settings down to the High Performance Mode and nothing. I tried Safe Mode, nothing. I went into the power settings through system settings and the extreme mode was grayed out as well. I can't do anything to get it working.
Any other ideas? HTC had no idea what I was talking about and told me to take it back to Sprint.

This thread saved my life! I hope this gets to HTC and this bug is fixed! It apparently has something to do with the extreme power saving mode replaceing your home screen, and not being able to find and set the defult home screen back be it blink feed, or google now launcher ect.
Get the lastest software update to permanently fix this problem
I also ran into this problem, and was able to fix it permanently by updating the HTC software with the latest Sprint update. I got there by getting into the general setting by back-spacing while in the phone setting (it won't work for other settings). Now when in EPSM window the exit button works as intended (albeit a bit slowly)

I turn the extreme power safe mode on every night when I go to bed, and disable it the next morning. I had been doing it without a problem for 2 months and this morning had this problem as well. And the funny thing is, BlinkFeed is not my home screen. Reboot, nothing. Forced reboot, nothing. Anyways, toggling the extreme power safe mode on and then off did the trick for me as well.

Cant be Exit - Extremen Power Saver mode -
I have HTC Desire 816 rooted Kitkat version. Now my problem is exit extreme power saver mode.
i can enter exit extreme power saver mode. but i cant to exit extremen power saver mode, my another problem is i cant to bootloader, fastboot etc. so i cant to factory reset. now i am stuck with extreme power saver mode,, please help me to exit power saver mode.
The way out of that page is to click call icon, then setting icon, go back and finally put on (again) extreme power saving mode. Then you can easily exit from extreme power saving mode. Thank you! Jide
For those who are having same ussue on htc 10 devices. (cuz i had one just right now)-
Try holding wolume down button right after powering on to get in safe mode. From there you will be able to disable epsm.
