[LT29i] Random reboot after update JB - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

My Xperia TX have random reboot after update JB anybody can solved????
I factory reset and new flash but still random reboot
after reboot battery very drain....
Help me please :crying:
FW 9.1.B.0.411

Hi,
A friend of mine is having the same issue. I just repaired the phone using sony software and no luck... Rebooted within minutes.
It's wrecking my head because I'm the one who is supposed to fix it
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated or even tips to try and catch the culprit!
Thank you guys

Best idea is to send it back for repair supposing it still has warranty, if not, try flashing different versions of jb for our tx like russian one which many find it impressive compare to other, you can also root it and wipe everything and factory reset.
Before all these, did you erase all inside internal sdcard when you reset this? Good luck

Hi there! This is my first message. I am Jon, from Basque Country (Spain). Oh, and sorry for my English..
I was wondering if you have resolved this screen info issue?? I kinda got the same problem, and didn't know how to fix it.
Thanks in advance!!:good:
Go to settings developer options and see any of it checked
Hi there! Thanks to everybody for your answer!
I have been doing things, but no luck. This is what I have already done on the cell:
1. First, I did a wipe cache partition and Dalvik cache.
2. Then I flashed Abyss kernel and did "Wipe data/factory reset) and re-flashed kernel CF.
3. I flashed notecore v4 (which was stored in my external sd card), did full wipe.
4. Finally, I downgraded to GB and upgraded to 4.0.4 with Odin PC.
But...non of these solved the problem... I don't know what else I could do. :crying:
Maybe I should just call Samsung and have them repair it...
Oh, and thanks to everybody for your answer and your concern about the full-wipe thing. I was aware of the risk, so I think I did it well, didn't I? hehehe
Thread Cleaned
Do not perform a factory reset while using a stock kernel, there is a very real chance of you bricking your device. There is a lot of existing info on this!

I am having the same problem
Please please please help
This is direct ctly due to a damaged efs partition which holds unique device info, if you post screen shots, please blank out any unique data.
So far, the only fix is to download gb rom, reflash with pc odin, then take backup of efs partition (make sure you have one at all times anyway, it's imperative), then re upgrade. If same situation, and restore your efs under ics.
Backup and restore efs partition here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18524176
Please heed ganjamans warnings, never factory reset or do any wipes under stock or unsafe kernels, you're likely to brick.

Thank you very much, Spyder!!
Sorry I answer now (a little lazy to web browsing while on holiday..) I will do just what you said...Didn't think it was a problem of the efs partition, but it does make sense. I will let you know if it solved the issue.
Again, thanks a lot!! :good:

[Q] S5830D restarting on its own. any solutions?

I would be ok with this if it wasn't almost every time the phone is left alone.
i thought maybe installing CM would help but it still does it, went back to stock firmware (S5830DTLKI4) with no resolution.
It appeared to only be doing it when it is put to sleep, but after i unlocked it and tried to send a text with my Bell Canada sim card the phone restarted again.
It certainly isnt a SoD, because it is turning itself back on.
wifi is off, GPS is off, Bluetooth is off, and it is doing this on a 100% stock install; no market apps installed, no google account even linked.
so it appears to be restarting when i let it go to sleep, and when i try and send a text using a non-Koodo sim card. (although i dont know the effects with a Koodo sim; never had one)
I went to samfirmware and downloaded a md5 for the UK network Orange, but it didnt fix anything as far as i know, i didnt unlock it but it was still restarting itself.
Im wondering is this a software issue (if so, what is happening and is there a way to fix it?), or is this a hardware issue (perhaps there is a faulty capacitor somewhere on the board that isnt filtering voltage spikes and causing the device to reboot because of that)?
i couldn't find any references to this problem ever really being addressed.
help would be greatly appreciated.
The stock Samsung firmware for a Koodo S5830D is unstable, often when I was using it I would get reboots and freezing and a NO SIM CARD error constantly. If you have it rooted and want to install a custom ROM that won't reboot itself, I would recommend taking a look at CM9.1 RC4.1 by Wayland_ACE. I have never experienced a random reboot on that ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868121
Although of course you have to choose the right ROM for you. If you want to stay on Gingerbread, the official CM ROM (or an unofficial version) for the Ace should do the trick. If you don't care as much about stability experiment!
If the firmware is unstable (as it is with Koodo's stock ROM) it won't matter if it is locked or unlocked, if you want stability, change your ROM.

i tried installing the rom you linked to but im still getting the reboot problem; is there something im doing wrong?
i wiped the user data, cleared the cache, and wiped dalvik, then installed the rom you linked, using clockwork 5.0.2.6
however it still seems to want to reboot, what is going on here?

its not a bootloop though, it's booting into CM and then once the screen goes to sleep the phone restarts itself, just like it did on the stock rom.
i already tried mounting data, system and sdcard, but it didnt help any.
Last resort... After flashing via odin, reboot into recovery & do a factory reset. If the problem persists, stop posting here & rush to service centre with the unrooted stock rom on your phone.

i was hoping id get a better answer than that, but ok then.
ive always hit factory reset and clear cache before using a stock rom, else it will boot loop.
i suppose i'll reload the stock firmware and take it in to the nearest mobile center, i dont know how much good itll do though, the phone is from anther carrier and i got no warranty papers when i bought it off a friend.

Since you don't have the warranty, you'll have to pay for the service anyway. Just be sure that the phone serial no. that's on the label after taking out the battery is intact & you are all fine to get a clean service. There's nothing much you can do by yourself as it doesn't appear to be a software problem. But it might quite happen b'coz of a faulty battery. My friend's galaxy y had the issue & a replacement killed it. So may be it with you. Anyways, before buying you can try it out with your friend's battery & hope to see if the issue is solved & then go buy one. If this doesn't help, head for service as said earlier.

Xperia SP Self Reboot

Hi there,
I am using Xperia SP C5303 with new firmware 12.1.A.0.266(updated through Sony Bridge for Mac). Before I updated the phone from 4.1.2 I had done factory reset of the phone.
Within typical usage there is usually around 260-300 MB RAM free, also there are no ram-eating widgets and ****s like that.
My xperia tends to self reboot without any particular reason. Sometimes it happens while using chrome. There was one time when incoming sms made it reboot. Before rebooting it freezes and pixels gradually fade to black.
Does any of You guys know what could cause that kind of behaviour ? It has never happened to me while I was using previous firmware.
P.S. I have already tried repairing the software using built-in option in sony bridge.
I hope there is a soul that could help me because sony just said - send phone to service -_-

Seems to work! Thank You mate!
Unfortunately the problem persist, xperia freezes and restarts.
I used the C5303 12.1.A.0.266 AU Generic provided by Doomlord. I flashed the device using the wipe option. I am pretty sure that it is not connected with any particular app.
Does anybody have another idea or had same problem ?
I'm using the Australian rom in the UK been on it for about a week. Had no problems here. Did have an issue when I held down the power button it wouldn't shut down but a hard reset seems to have cured that

Hi mine does the same as yours. On 4.1 it sometimes just had backlight which can life with but now on 4.3 it freezes a lot, force closes things and fades like yours. Try removing chrome (takes 40mb odd just sat there compared to 24mb on other browsers. Try removing japenese keyboard layout too as this takes 54mb :-S Also maybe try a memory cleaner as I've noticed that even though you have closed apps down and removed them from the open apps screen it's still running them. So it may be due to poor memory management within the update.

Hello!
I have the very same problem with my Xperia SP.
It's a strange problem. On android 4.1.2 with DoomLord's v04 the phone was working fine. Now on 4.3 it was okay with DoomLord's advanced stock kernel, and then Sony released .201, flashed it, phone kept freezing&rebooting. Then I flashed back to advanced stock kernel and it wouldn't work. Rebooting persists.
I'd like to get some guidance on what should I do next?
Thanks in advance!
P.S.No warranty or a Sony center nearby,so sending to service is not an option.

Why does it work better rooted ?

Hi peeps.
I was rooted a while back. Had problems with phone freezing mostly when using camera.
Sooo i unrooted, relocked bootloader and then used the Sony update to repair. So ive been on .757 pure stock and i got more problems with that, touchscreen was weird from time to time. It rebooted once a day and it didnt matter wich task i was doing it seems (when rooted it only happened during use of camera and mostly AR effects). So now i became random reboots.
Well i rerooted now and now i can use the AOSP brower again(thank god for that) and most things i wanna have working are working. Havent tested it for that long yet when rerooted but keeping fingers crossed that it will work like it should. Possibly some random reboots wich i dunno whats causing them.
But isnt it strange.
I was wondering about something though. Scrolling seems not so smooth when rooted, but that might be placebo kicking in.
/Jonas
I was wrong It worked just as bad with rootaccess now. So I repaired the phone again with Sony update.
I just wanna get rid if this phone now, it gives me me a headache!!!

if you get reboots on Custom Roms with Custom Kernels, well, it's not strange to me, it happen many time, BUT if you get random reboots on Stock, then I will should be worry about it. For all the other reasons you have to have them less on stock, if you really still have all this issues then I will replace it via warranty. I heard some Xperias was not fixed with any Firmware.
Well that's just it. I have reboots on stock rom with stock kernel. Usually once every day. I can't get rid of it. I've repaired and repaired and it is still the same.
Here is the funny part, the warranty of the phone expired one month before I even bought it when I was in touch with Sony. I have abit of an argue with my retailer atm since he says it's software related. And im saying I wanna return it. And get either money back or a new working phone.

I am on .136 stock (4.3), no root, no unlocked bootloader... all works fine...I have read so many people complaining about newer updates to .681 or .757 .... I do not see any point updating to newer versions, as I am not missing anything major with .136

That isn't anything to do with rooting m8, how you flash your phone and what you flash onto your phone, the apps you use or don't use and your actual habits you have, these are some of the things which cause random reboots and problems for the most part, the other is bad luck and hardware issues.
Particular devices did have some rebooting issues, I myself haven't had one in a long time so i don't get them at all, whether i'm on a custom rom or an AOSP rom, I do get the occasional slow down but there isn't a phone out there or PC for that matter that never slows down at any time.
What I would say to do is to clean up your internal and external memory and download a tried and tested rom, lets say monxified 6.0.3
Go back to 534 and re-root, install a custom recovery and flash that bad boy (don't forget to perform a full wipe, factory, cache and dalvic) use a full FTF to fill in the blanks using flashtool (avoid flashing system and TA , exlude wiping with flashtool) Do not restore using recovery either.
Don't flash a custom kernel either, just let the system boot and see how it runs, install one or two apps (not a massive restoration using titanium) Avoid xposed for now and reboot the phone.
See if you can leave it like that for a while and see if you get any random reboots.
Do it by the numbers methodically and you should be fine
Good luck
How do I wipe everything with flashtool.
Last time I rooted I flashed 681 with flashtool. Had strange reboots then aswell.
Let me say this, I have unlocked the bootloader and I do not have backup on my TA. Wouldn't older roms then 681 mess up my phone? Bootloader is relocked with flashtool and I ain't rooted and I don't have CWM installed anymore.
So easiest way to clear the phone would then be? And I want to use Stable Sony rom.

Yes, this is what I meant, just click on Wipe Data, Appslog and Cache. Still not a full format of your system partition but this is what it do to make a clean installation.
Well I did that a few days after I received my phone. I had the same problems back then. I actually did just that one hour before making this post aswell. Hoping it would work good, which it didn't.
If the phone would have been in my possession a little longer I would run it over with my car. Now it's quite new so I won't do that but I'm really tired of it and it's so boring have to send it to my retailer for repairs and w8 forever. Then when I get it back. I BET that they only will flash new software and test it for five min and ship it back and it will still have the same problem.
Been there done that alot of times with other things

I was thinking rolling back to 4.3 though to see if that would be more stable. Noticed that, if the phone don't reboot in a day wich it normally does then the touch is acting weird instead.
And last night I stopped it from rebooting, I pressed the power button to turn of screen when it frooze and that cancelled the reboot. But after that I noticed some apps with camera didn't work.

I think something like a Tool to format the entire system partition will be useful but in your case I think it will not help much.

Well now I have wiped the phone using cvm. And I flashed 4.3 instead hoping the phone will be stable. If it ain't it's going in the bin
I do miss the emoji keyboard, but that's about it. Know if it's possible to get that on 4.3?
Phone feels alot faster on 4.3, the camera reacts faster and tbh the pictures look better. No problems so far, hoping it will work. Battery time is also ALOT better!
