Does anyone know if the HTC One Developer Edition (US) has the camera fix? I'm noticing a difference between what I see in the camera viewfinder vs what is actually being taken (JPG file). The view finder is showing more contrast and saturation while the photo itself is looking washed out and under exposed. Is anyone else seeing this? Can those who received the update in the UK provide your before / after experiences? All of my camera settings are at their default. Below are my phone specs:
Carrier: AT&T
Software version 1.29.1540.3
Camera app version 5.0.569008
Is there a mod available to get me to the latest update?
Thanks in advance!
Why not just flash one of those custom ROMs? I'm running Maximus and it's great.

I wasn't sure if the custom roms contained the latest camera fix. Does it? Do you have a link for the Maximus mod?

I just got my HTC One for AT&T two weeks ago,
rooted and installed the following
-TWRP
-SuperSU
-bulletproof Kernel/ROM
Whenever I start the camera application, the whole screen is black and the on screen buttons are greyed out.
I've tried to install a stock boot.img and reinstall the Bulletproof Kernel and the same happens.
I've tried the solutions listed on the thread to delete 3 specific files in the zip with no avail. The latest version, 1.10 is supposed to address the camera issue with a camera fix, but I tried it and its still the same.

Can anyone help please?
You're on the stock ROM?
If so, you don't need the camera fix, you need the original files. If you have a backup, restore /system and you should be good to go.

Don't have a backup, and when I'm on the stock ROM, it says "Unable to start the camera" and when I'm on Bulletproof Kernal, the camera is all blacked.
Isn't the original files the stock boot.img?
P.S. Sorry, new to this.
Try using a different kernal it might fix the problem, worked for me.

I can't put my kernel inside my HTC One's storage because it says Cannot copy item. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. I just factory resetted and the camera problem is still present.
Bulletproof on 4.1.2 camera issue!!!!
i am running into this exact same issue, black camera screen of death
i've tried installing all bulletproof kernals from 1.0 to 2.1
(compatable with my AT&T, android 4.1.2, sense 5)
HAS ANYONE BEEN ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY INSTALL THIS BULLETPROOF
KERNAL ON AT&T, android 4.1..2
???
if you have, please help.
which version of the kernel did you install?
what settings did you use?
maybe i'm doing something wrong, i'm somewhat new to rooting,
before i install a "new" kernel, do i have to do anything so that it overwrites the previous properly?
thanks
AJ
As Flar2 said you don't need the camera fix on stock, reflash Bulletproof and uncheck the option to apply the camera fix.
Ok, thanks, i will give it a shot.
Noob question, if im reflashing a kernel,
(Using TRWP)
Do i have to do anything special? Or will these kernels automatically overwrite?
Thanks!

I was originally 4.1.2 also...when i unlocked boot & rooted my phone. Then i installed the android revolution HD which is basically 4.2,...worked like a charm aftr i installed. Are u using TRWP? Make sure u run a backup prior (just in case) but i have had zero problems with android rev. hd

Hi Folks,
I wanted to post this in the TeamSense thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255160), but being a new member it won't let me...
I live in New Zealand and have a HTC One locked to the Vodafone NZ Network. Its running the stock kernel + ROM, but it has been rooted.
Basically I've got a couple of issues with the phone stock:
- The OTG support is very hit and miss. I have a USB Telemetry receiver/transmitter for my Remote Control APM quadcopter,
this should connect to the apps Droidplanner or Andropiolot, but when I connect the stick to the phone with an OTG cable I get the error unsupported device. Same problem with my Nikon DSLR and a bunch of other devices that should work. Note: Keyboard, Bluetooth mice etc work fine....so the connection is there!
- I also have a Go Pro 3 Black edition and the Go Pro app installed on the phone, the live previw only works in software and wont support the hardware preview mode so it turns off the preview if I start recording.
All this said, my GF has a 100% Stock Samsung S4 and the I can plug in the Telemetry stick and it connects and works fine with the quad. I can also connect the Go Pro, have its preview set to hardware render, so I can preview and record at the same time (great for live view on the Heli, while capturing the action too!)
So needless to say I'm pretty pissed I've got a device on paper that should be as good or better, but in real life it doesn't play ball!
So I realise this is due to lack of support from HTC...So I Installed the Teamsense Kernel (http://d-h.st/0Mw) to hopefully fix the issues, the USB telemetry works, but and a big but the phones on-board camera no longer works! If you I load the camera app the screen comes up black.
Anyone know what's going on?? Maybe I'm not doing the Kernel upgrade correctly - I've tried the stock/Home2wake buttons, etc options at setup with no changes to the camera problem...
Cheers
for your Nikon DSLR you can use the build in IR blaster to control it, without any cable
You said you're on a stock ROM. Is it a 4.1.2 ROM or a 4.2.2 ROM? If I remember correctly I helped someone a few days ago who flashed a 4.2.2 kernal on a 4.1.2 ROM and it broke his cameras.
AT&T HTC One
BaadNewz's InsertCoin 3.0-7
Flar2's Bulletproof 3.4

Cheers for reply
Running 4.1.2, made an edit with phone specs to the original post straight away when I realised I forgot them, but it wouldn't let me update or post a reply for 5mins being a new member...
Phone Specs:
4.1.2
sense 5.0
1.29.980.17 Software number
5.12 HTC SDK API
3.4.10 - Stock kernel
From what I understand this TeamSense Kernel is for version 4.1.2? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255160&page=145

Yep had a Nokia N900 for a long time with IR doing the same thing, but prefer using the cable so you don't need line of sight/holding the phone the whole time...Cheers
Take a look at this, maybe it'll help.

Cheers, looks like he had the same issue, but he just ended up flashing a stock 4.2.2 kernel & rom to fix the problem? AFAIK the stock 4.2.2 doesn't add any more compatibility for OTG?
I can resolve my camera issues by going back to stock, but I'd prefer to have the camera and full OTG support , and hopefully Go Pro hardware support too
What you can do is flash a 4.2.2 Rom, then reflash the custom kernel. It will have the same OTG support you have now, but with working cameras.
AT&T HTC M7
Baadnewz's InsertCoin 3.0-10
Flar's Bulletproof 4.3

Thanks Cory - I did read somewhere that the custom kernel was designed for 4.1.1 only?

The latest GoPro app combined with the latest Hero 3 Black firmware now enables preview whilst recording.
I had no camera issues while using stock 4.2.2 jellybean. Then I updated to 4.3 and there was a problem with my camera. The purple tint in low light conditions. I rooted it and flashed Android Revolution HD 22.0 Rom for the Htc one hoping that it will solve my problem, but it didn't. Now I just wish If anyone has a backup of the stock 4.2.2 firmware in the Taiwanese model. I searched a lot but couldn't find it. I flashed one 4,2,2 stock rom but it has the tint.
Please help me.
I'm pretty sure the tint is a hardware issue?
So if you got the tint after flashing ARHD, you most likely didn't notice it when you were on stock.
Although I've also heard that upgrading to 4.3 makes the camera worse in certain cinesensors.
In root explorer or whatever root file manager you have, go to /sys/android_camera and open up 'sensor' in a text viewer and tell me the date listed.

I have to use 4.1.2 becuase of GSM. (I cannot use 4.3/4.4 because it will connect to T-Mobile HSPA but not send/recieve data.) Camera will work on 4.3 and 4.4 easily. But, on 4.1.2 using stock deodexed, it won't start the camera. The camera just force closes. I am on the first firmware, too.

Yeah, I have even tried that.
If you sent your phone in for repairs or got it new post the camera fix then the camera module isn't backward compatable with some roms like miui u will not get access to the back camera

Hmm that shouldn't be happening. Kind of strange. A possible solution however, is to flash the latest firmware, but I'm not sure how that would react to the old Android version. So if you want to be adventurous, try that out. If not though, go to Sprint/HTC and get it fixed from them.
After using SVN checkout on that Sense 5 and 4.2.2 ROM, and installing it camera worked. But only the front facing one, and it had the pink tint (I fixed it by changing settings though). I tried replacing libs from newer ROMs and made it worse. So, I'm getting close.

I have the same issue that you did. I cannot upgrade my android version cause of GSM and my camera isn't working would you be kind enough to explain how you were able to fix it, I would really appreciate it, thank you
