SOLVED!
By rebooting into recovery and simply wiping cache + factory reset, then reboot

stuck on htc screenafter restoring rom

my phone is stuck on htc logo, it happened after i tried to restore to my previous rom through recovery, i tried a wipe factory/datareset and wipe cache, and its still stuck on the htc screen, what should i do? ;/
Need more information:
1. What ROM were you running/restoring?
2. What recovery?
3. Was everything restored?
4. What steps did you take?
5. What were you trying to do?

[Q] Hanging on initial boot with Virtuous Inquisition

Sorry XDA, I'm new here, but I happen to have an issue when booting up the aforementioned ROM for the first time.
First off, I have a bootloader unlocked, S-ON Vivid (rooted) on a stock ROM and kernel, with WCX Recovery.
1) Extracted boot.img from the .zip file
2) Placed the .zip in the root of the internal SD card
3) Backup
4) Flashed the boot.img twice
5) Went to recovery, wiped dalvik, cache partition, and performed a factory reset
6) Immediately went to recovery and installed .zip from internal SD
7) ROM is installed, but on initial boot, hangs (not on the white HTC screen, but at the Virtuous logo).
- looking at adb logcat, it seems to loop (Sorry if I get the terminology wrong here); Fails, retries, and it repeats.
So, what am I doing wrong, or is there something that I need (or forgot) to do?
In advance, thanks for having to deal with a noob.
Were you on ics prior to ronning this procedure?
Sent from my HTC Raider 4G LTE running ICS.
Yes, I was on the latest ICS build and HBOOT.

I had this issue myself only I was running twrp recovery. What I did was to flash a new recovery from fastboot (the cwm in the cubed‘s guide, I would link but I'm on my phone) then re flash the boot.img and then wipe, factory reset then flash rom. Ymmv.

If you're still out of luck...
In CWM, go to mounts and storage, format /system, /data, /cache, then flash the ZIP. No need to factory reset; wiping data and cache does that for you by consequence.

Can't install a custom rom on Vivid

Hello everyone,
I've tried to look for anyone has experienced the same problem and found a solution and didn't find any post close to my case, but I am sure you guys knows what's wrong with it.
I have just rooted, unlocked, S Off and Hboot my Vivid, I have followed all the steps to do all of that but it's seems like there's something is wrong. I have tried to flash many different roms but I couldn't. Every time when I flash a rom and it says installing zip completed and reboot the phone it shows the rom's intro animation after showing HTC logo and then it restarts.
It happened with like 7 or 8 different roms, I even tried three different recoveries (TWRP 2.2, ClockWorkMod 5.0.2.7, and 5.0.2.0), and it's always the same problem!
I would really appreciate if somebody can tell me how to solve this problem.
Thanks

I've used ClockWorkMod v5.5.0.4 (it's non-touch) and I have had no issues with it. If you'd like to try it, here is a mirror:
Filename: CWM-beta2.img (inside the below zip)
http://www.4shared.com/zip/tAZgjz25/CWM-beta2.html
Also - are you doing all the appropriate wipes before you flash the custom rom? (There are 4 wipes: Wipe Data, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik in advanced, and wipe /system in Mounts&Storage).
Thanks

thanks LaZiODROID , actually my problem is solved by Maqical as he figured out that I have to update my system to ICS first through the OTA or the RUU so I would be able to install a custom ICS roms. I was on GB stock Rom.
Thanks to Maqical and to you.

HTC One stuck on boot screen after installing Android Revolution 3.2 (Google Play)

My phone (AT&T version) is stuck on the HTC One boot screen after installing Android Revolution HD 3.2 (Google Play Edition).
I unlocked the bootloader, ran CWM, installed the Android Revolution HD 3.2 ROM from the zip file on my sd card, and once I finished, I can't get my phone past the boot screen. Not sure what to do. Advice?

Did you full wipe cache and dalvik cache before/after installing ARHD? This is more likely to be cache issue since you're coming from a different base.

I am currently S-Offed, running Buckmarle's latest TWRP and permanent Root via SuperSU.. Updated to latest Firmware
I flashed ARHD 22.1 today and since then stuck on boot screen. I am unable to get into recovery as well. Yes, I did wipe data before installing ARHD via Aroma installer.
Please advise

[Q] ElementalX ROM - Rebooting during Installation

I'm trying to install the ElementalX Kernel onto my HTC One for overclocking. I've had it installed before but have since downloaded and installed an updated ROM which removed the kernel. When installing the Kernel using TWRP I'm able to go all the way though the setup of the Kernel but when I select to install it shows /wipecache as the first line then goes black before restarting back to android.
I've checked the MD5 on the phone itself and it matches up, I've performed a system reset, and a fastboot cache erase as well as selecting different frequencies in the kernal installer itself but still have the same issue. I've had a search of the forums and wasn't able to find any matching exactly so any advice is appreciated.
Some of the Versions:
Sense: 5.5
Android 4.4
ROM: Android Revolution HD One 40.3
TWRP v2.6.3.3
Trying to install
ElementalX-m7-10.5
Nevermind, reinstalled the ROM again, restarted, factory reset, and working.

Sometimes it happens when you instal bulletproof or elementalx kernels. Although you didn't have to factory reset, all you have to do in this situation is either dirty flash your rom again, or backup the system partition and then restore it, and then reboot, and just to be safe fastboot erase cache and then flash the kernel again and it should be good now.
