Any way to do that? Really bothers me lol

i downloaded this app, its called capacitive buttons, you have to be rooted btw, and it changes the lights intensities three different levels i find that this works well
There are light sensors attached to the buttons. They should light up in the dark

Yeah just got it last night but when playing with it I noticed the lights we not turning on lol, I'm still used to the og evo. But I'll check out that app, thanks

I pulled apart the framework-res.apk and adjusted the buttons to trigger at higher lighting. I also pushed down the overall autobrightness levels, they felt too high to me.

(UPDATE ) the buttons do light up at night, realized it while laying in bed last night lol.

The LED light between the charging and HDMI ports is not working properly for most if not all Droid 3s. Does anyone know of a fix yet?

Lol, I didn't even know that was an LED...

I think its supposed to be fixed in the next OTA update

I made a thread on this earlier.

I didn't even know that was an LED. I hope the update comes soon. Then, we could possibly get root too.

It works. It is light sensitive and will only light up in low light conditions.

oh!, maybe my phone has the problem
at night, in darkness it is not light
Its probably just like the Droid X, the charging led light only works when the phone is powered off.

Something interesting I discovered... the charging light worked with the battery drained and the power off, but only when plugged into my laptop. The wall charger did not activate the light.

They are annoying the hell out of me. Is it just mine or it's a bug. But pretty frequently I won't be able to use one of the two buttons when in an app. I do have a screen protector but Idk if that plays a major role in it or not.

Looks pretty cool. Nice find. Going to give it a whirl and report back.

It doesn't seem to work on stock One. I tested on my old Captivate running CM9 and it works. I'm researching a Tasker workaround, but unfortunately it may just be that Take Call is root-only.
Cool! Sure hope someone can get this to work properly.
I actually found an app in the play store called Wave Control pro. I was able to control my music player by waving my hand in front of the proximity sensor.

It works
I downloaded it and got it working on my Samsung Epic 4G touch I realized the phone has to be laying flat down and you have to wave your hand from the camera downward
No luck on my HTC one, maybe it's the Rom that I am on.

With auto brightness turned on. Anyone else seeing this? Not sure if the brightness illuminates my face more, but this just seems odd. I'm running stock so there's been no system change made.

It's been hit or miss for me.
Never got it to work on stock or Blu Kuban. Switched to AOSP now since I can't stand TW. I would like to see some of the S4 features implemented into the AOSP builds.

It doesn't work for me, but I have my screen timeout set to 10 minutes so it's not an issue for me.

I've got it working with full brightness. Just not sure why.

Is there a way to make my backlight more dimmer? Because when i used my phone at night, even if i put my backlight level to zero, it still flashy. Im using Froyobread v023b. Thnx.

Do you mean it's still bright?
I think it's the nature of X8, I played with my X8 lot times in night and
I down the brightness completely but its still tearing my eyes!
Wear a glass next time!
You can use screen dimmer app or change minimum value in auto brightness settings in screen dim level.
