[Q] General problems encoutered - LG Optimus Black

Hello xda-developers,
I have a problem with my LG Optimus Black . I recently updated my android to 4.0.4 from 2.2.2 (the version I had since I bought the phone) .
My problem here is the fact that my sensitive light keys (home, back button, search button , and the first one , I don't know how is it called)
are not working properly ... Whenever I want to go back or go on the main screen , I have to touch the keys several times in order to do the action I wanted .
I am wondering if this is a software problem, or a hardware problem, and also , if I can fix this problemf...
Hope you can help me .
Thank-you, optimusblackuser.

I have the same problem...
After updating / upgrading my LG P 970 from Android 2.3.4 to the LG Official Android 4.0.4 (30B for Romania, in Romania Language) using LG Support Tool (with LG usb drivers installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, smartphone battery charged 100% - the setup was perfect for an easy click/next upgrade / update), my hard keys (the 4 buttons below / down the phone) work very hard / sometimes don't work from the first second... And it's not a hardware problem (the buttons were working flawlessly before), it's clearly a software problem (as myself figured and other 2 guys from random service mobile shops)...
It's the only problem I've encountered with this official update, everything else is running fine.
My LG P 970 has only official stuff on it, it's not rooted, it hasn't custom roms. I like to keep it official.
Anyone has any idea how to fix this issue?
The LG Support / Service are completely arrogant and useless and they want me to pay almost half of the value of this smartphone (I won't do that, ofcourse)...
Well, at least I'm glad I have the 4 shortcuts on my Lock Screen and I can easily navigate, otherwise it woud have been a nightmare...
PS: I didn't try anything, I just used it as it is for one week now... I'm in stand-by... But, if nobody has a solution, I guess I will try to root the smartphone and try to install a custom rom, maybe it will solve the hard keys issue, though I'm pretty afraid to do that, bricking isn't so nice, and it's so hard to find a support for flash in today's smartphones (I really need Flash for my online football streams)...

I'm from Romania too ...
I don't know why is this happening , but I rooted android phones before (on demand) , even the LG Optimus Black P970 . Quite challenging tho. I might try to root it again and get the Jelly Bean CynogenMod version on it . If you will try to root it , I wish you good luck.

[Q] good android for my x1?

i see allot of version of the android for the xperia x1.
and i tried allot of versions for my x1. but on every version i found some big bugs.
what is a working android version i dont need the camea.
what i want to work:
3g connection for vodafone nl
the wifi connection
charging dosnt matter if i need to boot whit charger plugged in.
keyboard fully work
the sound when i be called and when i get a sms
the unlock screen when i be called. and when i want to unlock it ofcourse
and it must be a version that the buttons will not stuck after a long standby.
hopefully is there a version whit al this
sorry for my bad english im dutch
hey, i started experimenting with android on the X1i last night
and ive got the gingerbread 2nd alpha running smootly *but rather unstable*
it sounds stupid. but the UI is smooth when it doesnt lock up
however there are some wake up issues and there is no virtual keyboard included, that means that you'll be missing some characters ( eg. <>|\ and all the others you'd use FngrKB in Winmo or the symbol map in WinMo and this could give a problem with passwords as i noticed at school this morning )
looking for a onscreen keyboard/character map
but if you'd like to play around with droid
Gingerbread 2nd Alpha is the way to go imo
(Doesnt run angrybirds smoothly tho)
groeten uit Veenendaal
what are the wake up isseus? and can i use the normal keyboard ?
im dloading now XPEroid-2.0.1_build-20100123 go to test that one
hopefully it dostn boot million years
xorium
screen was upside down so i download the version u say
the version what you said i can not boot that. so i downloaded another version from this threath : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778986
it works fine after a few hours i noticed when i layyed in bed that i heared the speaker making allot of strange noises so i think theres a fould into the software or someting becouse when i boot my normal winmo i dont have that then the speaker is silent.
Hey,

[Q] screen freeze and gps

My optimus 2x becomes frequently unresponsive to touch although the screen is still visable. Sometimes the back button works. For example it always happens when I enter the Bluetooth connectivity screen..... so I have to go back to main screen then re enter the connectivity screen numerous times till the screen becomes responsive to pair the device. But to be honest it occurs randomly all over the place. I'm just wandering .. is this an Android problem or just an issue with the optimus 2x. Is there a known fix. PS not sure if its connected but Google navigator GPS hangs unless I reboot phone only then will the GPS follow me onscreen. I would love to be able to fix these problems this weekend as they are becoming hard to live with ESP the GPS problem as I have to do emergency home visit to people in the community.

From what I understand you're running LG stock rom rider right now?
As it has been said a thousand of times in this forum, LGs stock rom its prone to all sorts of bugs. Lack of responsivness is one of them, probably due to bugs in the included kernel and framework.
If you really want to stick to the standard look and feel, there's a rom out now that has this and a lot of fixes. Else I would recommend you to take the usual CM7 road for full stability and compatibility.

[Q] Restoring to Stock (not just factory wipe)

Hi, i recently bought an optimus 4x hd and i was shocked about the battery life of it the first week. with the same usage pattern it lasts half as long as my old desire hd, tho it has double the battery-capacity. then i tried some power tweaks from the dev section, lg gearbox app, removing lg stock apps and so on. now the phone idle takes 30 % of the power, and android system takes 40 %. i am using the 10h european firmware and now the hole phone is almost unusable.
is there any way to remove all added apps and scripts to get to the real stock state ?
i mean factory wipe in recovery doesnt delete everything, the 4.2 system clock i installed is still present after wipe for example.
right now this phone really freaks me out, nice hardware with a *poop* of a firmware on it. if i would´ve known theres no android development for it after all before buying it, i never would have made this mistake.
if anyone is feeling the same of having solutions, please help.
i would also like to do the same as my o4x keeps rebooting by itself and going back to home screen when using apps when on google play and web browser.

there are (as far as i know) three ways to do it:
1) (my favorite) restore a cwm backup you made before you've flashed the tweaks
2) flashing the kdz files
3) emergency restore (or sth. similar) by the lg software
so, good luck :good:

My advice is, downgrade to v10a, factory reset, upgrade to the desired version (probably after downgrade the software update will ask you for upgrade).
Guys this worked for me. Connect mobile in software download mode by connecting your Mobile to PC by pressing volume down button without battery and launch lg software tool, go to recover mobile option enter imei number and when your mobile model is confirmed replace your battery and then update. Done you will have official version and Updated version.

P7-L10 B609 update, some answers offered

Hi everyone, i' m new here and i want to help some of your questions. I won my P7-L10 so it came factory unlocked which i OTA updated immediately with B133SP1 firmware and everything worked flawlessly.
I never rooted the device, everything is factory set.
Few days ago i OTA upgraded to B609 version and i cannot encounter any problems you guys said, except laggy shortcut/notification panel and maybe dissapointing camera controls as well as bad design of clock, alarm, torch (all black, cannot change colour) and phone manager... too flat for my taste, b133 was way better.
For all of you reporting resolution 1280x720 i have noticed that turning screen saving on does that... revert it back and should be fine...
Every old option is still here nothing missing, and a bunch of new possibilities added...
Preffered network mode option is still here (4G/3G/2G), working flawlessly as well as wifi...
As far as i can see all problems are caused by rooting and/or flashing updates not ment for your region, but that's only me maybe i'm wrong.
If i helped anyone say thanx :good:
Cheers

[Q] smart call handling not wokring

I have a very strange problem with my phone. Since i updated to Android L 5.0.2 ( today ) on my Xperia Z3 Compact the smart call handling feature stopped working. I tried turning it off and on a few times, i tried rebooting the device a few times still no luck. Does anybody have any idea why and how to fix this issue ? I can't find anything related to this problem...
The phone is complete stock. The bootloader is locked. I've never unlocked it. I used to have PhilZ custom recovery on KitKat and now i obviously don't (same goes for root) .
p.s. I must say Sony has done some great work on Android L. I can't understand why people complain so much about it on the forum. I like it better than KitKat.
The Solution
I found a fix.
What i did was :
1. Turn off the feature ( from Settings )
2. Restart the phone
3. Turn on the feature.
4.Restart the phone again.
Oh and I found 1 con of Android L. The battery usage is a bid dull. On Kitkat it showed the number off days passed after charging. Now it shows a graph with dates, so i guess you have to count the days by yourself which isn't that easy as it sounds and personaly i think it's a stupid idea.
