I have been using Nova launcher and all is well I was hoping to grab Blink Feed as a widget or something but cant seem to find it unless im using stock launcher. Did I miss something or is it not accessible on a 3rd party launcher?
Thanks
Usually none of the Sense widgets work unless you use the Sense launcher. That may not be the case with sense 5, I don't know.
I don't think it matters in your case because blinkfeed is not a widget or separate app. It's tied into and part of the Sense launcher.

I'm using ADW Launcher and really like it but would like to change some things if possible. The thing I would like to change the most is the scrolling in the app drawer. I don't know if it's possible but I would love to see some elastic/kinetic scrolling effects there. Even the stock launcher does it so I don't know why ADW won't. It just doesnt feel natural when it stops so brutal.
I also wonder if the icons used in the dock can be changed? I like the ones from the stock launcher more. Or is there a theme that looks like the stock launcher?

Can someone tell me what the best launcher is to use? And does anyone know if someone is working on making a Galaxy Tab launcher? Because that'd be amazing!

Honestly Launchers are like cars, what works for me may not work for you... Personally I use, and love, ADW EX. That being said people swear by Launcher Pro.
Zeam has been great for me.

I rather enjoy ADW myself. But I've got Zeam and LauncherPro that I use from time to time just for a change of pace.
I seem to be having trouble with shortccuts (adding) on launcherpro an dean,
I just get a quick black screen and then i'm dumped bcack to my main screen.
I do not have a crash. I uses autonooter to root my book.
Is it just a bad root and i should do it again from scratch?
Or is this a launcher/book issue?
Thanks
Robyn

Still trying to find the Launcher that allows a scrollable bottom dock bar, and/or the option to change the visual effects when swiping through home screens.
Anyone know which one I'm looking for

LauncherPro does both of these excellently. I highly recommend trying it.

I'm using awd ex, and I'm very happy with it. Recommend it for everyone. Prefer it over LP (used both alot)

I personally prefer Zeam over ADW and launcher pro
ADW is the way to go. Always been happy with it...
I was using LauncherPro, then switched to ZEAM. However I recently revived an old OpenHome purchase for my old Behold 2. I dropped the Eris theme on to it and have not turned back. The bottom sliding drawer is a nice touch.
I hate the zeam app drawer. But it is the fastest one. I use adw ex
Nook Color via Xda App
I used to run Zeam, came pre-installed with one of the Auto-Nooter scripts or something, but recently switched to ADW. I use ADW EX on my Android phone and highly recommend like many otheres here (my girlfriend owns the Nook Color or would be running the EX version of it on the Nook too)
ADW EX ftw...
Has the scrolling wallpaper simply vanished, or did I miss the memo? My original Motorola Droid can still scroll wallpapers, and my terrible Samsung Droid Charge could right up to the second to last update. Fully expected the One to have this feature, but it seems to be missing/buried/disabled. Was this feature deemed too processor intense and abandoned? Did Google just decide it was ugly, or is there some other reason scrolling wallpapers would be disappearing from Android?
It's a Sense thing. Install a different launcher like Nova or Apex and there you can find scrolling background in the settings.

Apparently it's a touchwiz thing too, then. Why can't they just leave that option in and let users decide?
Well, if I get tired of this launcher I just may try out Nova and Apex. I've heard of them and have wondered how they compared to launchers that have been around longer like Launcher Pro.
There's an app called landscape wallpaper, it makes the wallpaper scrollable again

HTC Flip for Kitkat (Sense 5.5)

Rgocal talks HTC Flip for KK on G+ https://plus.google.com/100201209156317802250/posts/jPk5NSMxCit
HTC Flip is an application of an idea Ive had for Sense users to easily "Flip" or switch from one launcher to another. In another words...Your using Aviate launcher or a custom themed Nova Launcher setup but you wanna check out your Blinkfeed on Sense5 really quick or switch back to Sense4 quickly for something. HTC Flip will allow you todo just that. Simply as it stands, its currently only a home manager for Sense but with a little effort, I could add a few extra tweaks in there without the need of Root priviledges.
Simple use of the app...Install, Launch, Pick a Launcher you want to switch to..., done. Press Home on your device to simply "Flip" back to your default Launcher.
Currently in order to switch back to Blinkfeed, these would be your options...
Create a custom Widget with Buzz Custom Widget linked to the Sense5 Launcher Activity
Create a custom shortcut using an advance launcher (for EX: Xperia Raral Launcher allows custom activity shortcuts)
Clear your defaults
Exposed Framework (Root)
HTC FLIP does not currently support Kitkat, Flip for KK is your substitute and pro version
Thats a marvelous idea because in a third party launcher you can use pop up widget if you had access to the app in question to one click access it. I personally only use Sense because I love the Sense music widget and app because it has the gracenotes connected. It would be awesome to be able to access all of sense's apps from a third party launcher! Everybody would buy that

Heres a guide that shows how to get a shortcut on the third party launcher from Sense activities like blinkfeed
Using a third party launcher such as ADW, Nova, or Apex provides much more customization than Sense 5, but since Blinkfeed is part of the Sense 5 launcher, you will immediately lose Blinkfeed.
To get access to Blinkfeed with one of these launchers, follow these steps:
1. Clear the defaults of the current default homescreen launcher. This is done under SETTINGS/APPS. Click on the default launcher. Scroll down and find the clear defaults button. Click it.
2. Press the home key. You should now have a choice of which launcher to use. Select HTC Sense.
Click "One Time Only".
3. Delete all home screens except blink feed. Clear the apps out of the dock. (Optionally you can keep the homescreens and icons in the dock if you wish, deleting them makes a clean Blinkfeed only setup that I prefer).
4. Press Home. This time choose you preferred launcher and tap Always. This should take you to your home screen under the new launcher.
5. Create a custom shortcut. In most launchers you long press the homescreen and choose add or add shortcut. When asked to what you want to create a shortcut you will be choosing an Activity, not an App. In the list of activities, scroll down to HTC Sense. Click it. Choose HTC sense (Launcher) or HTC Sense com.htc.Launcher.Launcher depending on which launcher you are using.
6. You now have a shortcut icon that will take you to Blinkfeed. Clicking the icon will open Blinkfeed. Clicking home again returns you to your preferred launcher homescreen.
That's it!
Variations on above include setting the HTC Sense launcher as the default so that hitting home opens blinkfeed, while another icon is created to your preferred launcher.

I was thinking of trying that out but I don't think it works on cdma roms like sprint and it appears to only use the stock roms that are sense based gsm

Sounds like an ActionProvider right to the sense launcher. Similar to what I want to pull off.

You also have to be rooted to use xposed mod and there's a lot more people that aren't then there is, man it's all about simplicity and convenience for most people.

I perfer my ONE not rooted myself. I perfer to use it for what it was made for, not to ruin it. "Been drooling over the MIUI rom tho, but not the point"
Il start development for this after I wrap things up over at the Razr forums. Rom developing takes it out of you as well as my toolkit. "Links below in sig"

Yes, on Sprint
Nice another dev for Sprint, theres a few making good roms and theming but we could badly use more
First look at an early build of HTC Flip. Basing it off of a Home Manager like user interface and integrating the Sense SDK into it. Looking into adding more shortcuts for the Sense Launcher and Blinkfeed as Launcher Shortcuts. Basically at the moment, It works by the user clicking on the app and selecting blinkfeed when they want to view it while useing another launcher like Apex or ADW. They can also manage their installed launchers. Nothing complicated, Nothing requiring root, something simple and small.

Is it possible, on the stock launcher, to change the number of homescreens? I have no use for 5, I normally only have 2 or 3. Can I delete some? The old pinch-to-edit function doesn't seem to work (maybe that's a TouchWiz feature). I know you can use Nova/Apex/etc. to do this, but I'd really rather stay with the stock setup for now. Anyone know a hidden trick?
Not that I know of. You should check out Nova launcher. They have a great beta version that keeps the transparent top and bottom bar and lots of features.

Maybe try your menu button, look in your setting for launcher preferences, and or hold the screen down on the homescreen. If not, perhaps try a new launcher.
You can't with the stock launcher. Download the launcher from Nexus 5 aka GEL launcher, there you can just have the number of screens you need. Can also use various third party launchers which does this. Nova is my favorite among the third party ones.

Nope that's why I use nova. It even has settings for kit kat that makes it look like GEL.
