Hi! Anybody tried the video recording function on their HTC One on normal environment sounds? It seems too low for me to the point that I need to crank up to the fullest volume when I want to hear the sound of my TV when viewing the video. And yeah that's beats enabled

Anyone facing this issue on this device? As stated in the title, it gets distorted when the sound recorded is very loud. Used to work well on my LG G4 and Xperia Z though. Even in normal condition, the quality of the sound recorded is not very good too compared to my previous phones but is considered bearable. After some research, I found that this problem is called audio clipping and already existed since the OPO. I wonder if there is any fix to be done in software like editing the mixer_paths.xml.
Edit: Tried HI-Q MP3 Recorder with raw audio selected in mic selection which means there will be no processing at all (no noise cancellation) and it sounds good surprisingly so is there any way to completely disable this noise cancellation thingy?
I've got the same issue. Recording via OP Camera app, a lot of distortion is in the audio, along with Snapchat too. Using the stock Recording app shows crystal clear audio.

Cool, tried the app and the raw mode as suggested. The recording quality is so much better, unbelievable.
It would be great if we could set such a raw mode as default for all recordings (incl. the stock Camera).
Perhaps there is a wise developer around who could help out? Just dreaming...
Man I thought I was the only one dealing with this because I have yet to find a fix for it. However for me it only happens on AOSP/LIneage based ROMS. When I'm on Oxygen OS or Oxygen based ROMS like Freedom OS recording works just fine. It seems to be connected to "Ok Google" functionality because that also stops working for me too on custom ROMS. Ironically it will trigger it initially for me to train my voice model but once I do it stops responding.
Good camera app to use.
I also experienced distortion when trying to record video at a concert. I found an app in the play store called Open Camera. It has an option to record audio unprocessed. I haven't tried it yet in a concert setting but maybe someone will see this and try it. Since many are saying recording with raw audio fixed the distortion issues.
Actually I am having some audio recording and audio in video recording quality issue. It seems to be that the real sound is trying to noise cancel. I think this is for aggressive noise cancellation. But I can't fix this. Even I rooted and changed to many rooms but all are same. Is there really no fix for this issue? At first the audio is clear for 1 or 2 seconds but after that the noise cancelling starts.
Look at this demo of my records...I don't know how to attach files so I am putting a Google drive link....

Hello, I have big problem with recording video with external Mic.
I had a lavalier type Mic that I got from Sound Professionals website last year. It worked great with the v30 but on v40 sounds very strange. I mostly record myself playing my instrument (double bass) for study and pedagogic purposes and now low notes sound tubby as if underwater effect...tried lowering sensitivity (gain) but didn't do much difference
I was using HD audio mode on manual video camera
Recording with the internal phone mics is very good but lacks low frequency range (at least until 40hz) so I need external Mic to properly judge my sound production.
I'm seriously considering returning this unless I can connect an external Mic.that has good sound I'm hoping it's just the Mic went bad
Anyone with some external Mic experience please share your experience.
So after some troubleshooting it seems it's the video camera app that has a bug when recording audio from external Mic.
I used the same microphones with the HD audio recorder app and the sound quality is just perfect.
Only when using the video camera app (manual or auto mode) the external microphone sounds like crap.
I used some third party video recording apps and again the external microphones work very well (though these apps don't have all the nice manual audio and video settings as lg's stock app)
Anyone else has a similar experience?
Not sure whether to reset the phone or exchange it...high quality audio video recording is THE reason I buy this phone...
Good morning,
Hope all if you are good and take all procution against COVID-19.
I have an issue while recording using screen record. The mic option is either on or off. And if you set it to on the surrounding sound will be capture in the recorded video.
Is there is a way to make the sound played by the phone to be captured only instead of recording all around.
I have test iPhone screen recorded and it was great for the sound.
Can any one advice/suggest the solution.
Regards
