[Q] What's the Diffrence Between Countries Firmwares? - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently, Samsung has released Jelly Bean firmware for some European and Asian countries. Until then, there have been only Russian Jelly Bean firmware. What's the difference between all of them? The European are I9070XXLQE with different CSCs, the Asian are mostly I9070DXAMD1 with mostly the same CSCs, and there are many other.
Specifically, if my country does not have Jelly Bean firmware, and I only care about English interface, which firmware should I choose?
Thanks in advance.

right now best firmwares are XXLQB(serbia) and DDULP8(india) i have used both and every phone has English language as default so no problem there.Mostly each country have their own firmwares due to baseband issues.

there is no major difference if they nearly at the same time only difference is with some country specific apps and features supported for the country comes preinstalled in that firmware...but if there is a considerable gap between releases later one is always better and bug free ...

Hello and thank you for your answers.
I've noticed that the, message and contacts default apps are a bit lagged when opening the first time. (I'm using the serbian version).
Is that lag corrected in the recently released firmwares?

It is not lagging in strict meaning, it takes long time to load after launching but when it is finally loaded it works without any lags.
Btw it is phone/contacts app acting like that, messages open right away.

Ya.! These are fast to open in the Indian firmware.
I haven't used the messaging app much.
But Phone app is a lot faster...comparatively.!
For me, the indian firmware works best of all! It faster and more optimised than others.

hello Im new here,, so flashing different cutom ROms is safe right

These are official firmwares - they're safe (except for the Chinese firmware)
And ROMs are custom made OS which are built using these firmwares

Do you know of any baseband issues? Are there any resources to show what problems may occur?
I guess that reception problems or increased battery use may be the issues, but since there are only a few companies manufacturing cell towers, I see no reason for different firmware versions (unless there are some specific apps installed). Even APN configuration for the entire world should be a few MB in size.

[Q] what model is my phone?

I did the *2767*4387264636# in my dialer, and for my Pcode i got i9000HKDAUT...
1. how do i find out what country that is? I can't find a reference to it on anywhere other than here
2. How do i tell what firmware and ROMs I can load on it?
3. Is there another way to get 2.3 for this model other than kies?
link to where i purchased it from
Thanks so much for the help, it really means a lot
HKDAUT is unbranded in Switzerland. I have the same.
As for what ROM you would like to have, the possibilities are endless with Odin. If you want gingerbread, there is a leaked version or a Cyanogenmod 7 test version. I'm running CM7, there are a few bugs but overall I find it stable enough!
Just be careful before doing anything with Odin, as if you don't read carefully and follow instructions you risk bricking your phone!

very unusual seeing as i got my phone from a chinese seller, but thanks. How did you find out yourself?
Also, is the "i9000" an international model, or is there a specific product code which makes it one?
One more thing, how do i find the release date for my... swiss.. phone ( i still find it weird considering i'm in australia) for the official 2.3?
No release date yet for 2.3 .
Product code is tied to area country continent and network supplier of the phone .You get official updates through Kies for your product code when that network upgrades the firmware .In your case its whenever the generic/unbranded Swiss models get the update dont matter where in the world you are .
Unofficial channels firmware etc i would lokk on the Oz posts .

Stock firmware with a new an improve ROM, better theme with bigger "fonts"
Google it, I'm sure you will find it aesthetically pleasing.
Seriously though, i'm not sure what to look for when looking at ROMs. Do I need to look for compatibility our should I assume that they're all automatically compatible? Do I see if it's compatible with my product code or my firmware version or what? I'm at a loss so as to how to start searching for a custom ROM.

All this fuss about multiwindow... what's the point? It's a 4.8" screen. You don't have enough space to be multitasking like that!
multi-window may not be useful to you, but it might be really useful to someone else. that's what's great about these devices, even the engineers when they're making them make them flexible enough that they end up being used for things you would never dream of.
yes 4.1.2 for i9305 allows for multi-window, and all the feature updates that the i9300 got with their 4.1.2 update.
The German (I9305DBTBLL3) seems unbranded, but I think there is a modem bug in this release, since LTE/3G dies on my network and I have to toggle mobile network to get it running again.

3(UK) is H3G
Im asking what CSC three uk e.g. hutchinson three uk
GT-N7000's run as far as im aware they dont have a custom rom for the uk
I've always been a little weary about flashing roms. I just like having the ability to update via kies. I'll probably look into soon though. My little Note isn't even a year old yet D;

I'd keep an eye out on sammobile. I see that they already have N920IDVU2AOJ4 posted ("i" variant) so I wouldn't expect it to take too long before the updated "c" is also posted.

Poland, Russia or another one ? Is there any infirmation avaible there ?
once when u install this firmware
N920CXXU1AOI1_N920COLB1AOI1_N920CXXU1AOH2_HOME.tar
you will automatically receive update N920CXXU2AOJ5
its running very smooth with N920CXXU2AOJ5
Just installed it, it's running very well and restored vibration to my soft keys (which have been broken since this morning), and it brings App Standby to Android 5.1.1.
anyone got fast link for this?
Can I install it on N920C?

Just downloaded XSG (UAE release) version: no bloatware added
Puppy literally flies with this new FW!!!!
Never seen so fast, responsive; sadly modem is still 03 (still poor 4G reception) but now this seems really a new phone...
I suggest as always a cache cleaning process from recovery after installation

All phones behave in the same way after an update. Don't Rush, Give it a few days. Actual improvements will be visible after few days, especially with the battery usage.

the same problem here! i got update and installed it. The ex-modem code is `2`, and new one is `3`. thought it would fix bad reception issue, but nothing has not changed. Mine is N920C and its baseband version is N920CXXU2AOJ3
Anyway, do you know how to change the baseband version? ( it could be stupid question but i am a new android user (ohh!!)) I have never tasted 4 levels signal on H,H+,LTE. I think something wrong with its software.
Any body try to root it??

Telling you the truth, whether you find it helpful or not. Samsung never intentionally releases information on firmware updates. Not in Korean, English, Chinese or any other language. If you don't believe me, Google it for yourself in whatever language you like. There isn't secret information on xda you won't find at Google.

There are others media like facebook instagram or similar available in China. That's why I asked help from someone speaking chinese especialy since N9200 is a model only for Hong Kong and China.

Nothing for now as far as I am aware. It is actually quite difficult to find a compatible ROM with 9200 due to difference in the modem with the other models. Therefore, I think we are stuck until Samsung releases an update for our model and this will be used by some ROM such as Infinity which was compatible with LP and 9200.

As far as I know MM update will come with support for samsuny pay in china this month. Maybe that's why we have to wait a little more. My question is if we can use samsung pay in europe, using an HK/China model?

There are many MM ROMs but i want Nougat. I miss the premium feel of note 5 over OnePlus 3.
Just give it some time. Nougat only started rolling out for the Note 5 a few days ago. The N9200 will also come, if not within days then at least within a few weeks
